I am enjoying the much cooler morning. Getting a lot of outdoor things done.

yes it is cooler here too. I should be outside too but I think I will let that go until DH can help me---

On teh good side I have time yet--it is supposed to be way above freezing for a week yet.

It's cool here also..blowing beyond windy. Yup, outdoor weather 'til the rain starts.

well, Tamara--I am hoping for rain for you.--I say no snow intil say Christmas time---

Our mountains are to get snow this weekend. Not enough to open the slopes for skiing but boy are they getting ready!
I am finished for the day doing much at all. Although I may bake something later to keep some warmth gong around here.

We have had snow on the mtns already- they are also starting to make their own cause it will stay now..it is supposed to be really nice this weekend.. then may snow down here Mon or Tues.. or at least rain.. I am hoping for rain,not ready for the white stuff yet...
Boys have a day off from school today so they are playing here..they are having a good time ... Timothy and Joe just finished watching Holes.... was fun listening to Timothy explaining him what it was all about... Carrie had her conferances with the teachers this week- as we feared Nicoli probably has the same learning disability as ?Derek... so we are going to the next step getting testing and hopefully getting him on the right track sooner than it happened with Derek... thats the difference a good teacher can make...
Well Jon is here.. so going to get them to clean up the messes... and then figure out something for dinner...

Hi everyone! I'm having a pretty good day. I got the kids off to school then cooked breakfast for Aros and me. Aros wanted to get out of the house and spend some time with me so he went along with me to a shoe sale that was going on today. I scored a new pair of running shoes for $30! These shoes originally retailed for $125 so I'm thrilled. Mine are Astarting to wear out and I can't afford $100 on a new pair. I took Aros to Home Depot and we came home I got ready for my long run. I ran 10 miles today in beautiful, sunshiny weather. It was a bit cool but it was perfect for running. I'm a bit sore right now but that's to be expected after being on your feet running for two hours. I'm about to get some grocery shopping done and then I'm heading out to the high school football game to video the girls in their marching band halftime performance. I'll be dead tired by the time I come home tonight but it's all worth it. Hope everyone has a great night!

My day was spent dancing with rakes and things. I was slinging some fire wood as well. A productive day.

My day was spent on apples, straightening the house, and running a few errands.
now I am seeing how everyone around here is.

Tomorrow I will go with DH to my father's counrty property.
DH is going to do guy things & I am going ot sit in the sun and read.

Weather has been cold and windy...much better than 110 like we have had all freakin' summer.

I remembered what I did today...after I remembered why my hand was bandaged up.
I helped my niece carve a pumpkin today for a contest..I think I lost a pint of blood in the process to demonstrate to her (unintentionally) why a 5 year old should not use a sharp knife to cut a pumpkin. She called me awhile ago and said she won the contest..thank God! Hope my finger will grow back now.

oh my you do have things happen to you, perhaps yo should have given her the knife-

it was nice of yo uto help & I am glad that she won.
She will remember that forever---not so much the winning but the you helping her...

Well...she put me under a lot of pressure...she said she HAD to win this contest.
If she hadn't won it would have been kinda sad for her.
I was so happy when she called right after church and said "I am so excited I can't stand myself!!! I WON!!!!!"

It was kinda funny when I asked my mom what she won...which was a $10 gift card to Wal-Mart.
Mom said "The pumpkin cost $7 and I spent $10 for a pumpkin carving kit in case you couldn't help her...but she is so happy and it was money WELL spent."

I had a big Halloween bag full of candy for Rebekah when she came with her pumpkin today...I bet all that sugar is killing my poor mommy right now.

Good morning. I flaked last night.

For some reason I don't even remember going to bed last night.

I was such a good wife this morning... made breakfast for us.. then cooked my gr turkey and it is now cooling ... will pkg it later on...
I did have good news from my latest blood tests.. my cholesterol is down... my thryoid is functioning better and all the rest is normal .... I know I feel better ... still aches and pains but that is the arthritis.. and weather changing stuff... Yay Me!
Well off to get myself dressed hubby wants to go walk around Target- easiest places to walk for us now- stores.. flat . no hills ... he feels better but not all the way back yet of course...

well I have just come back form the grocery.--I spend far too much $$$ there let me tell you that !!!! Why with all the $$ that I spend, one would get the impression that we eat well---sadly not the case.....

anyway it is spaghetti with meat sauce & bread sticks tonight . As I did not buy any salad, I will hide some broccoli in the sauce--DH will never know---(see I hid some in last nights casserole..ah well...

I has been a beautiful day here--it is still 72*F--bright & sunny too!!!!

No, Carol. I am not getting ill. I just got chilly. I am not yet ready to light up my wood stoves until absolutely necessary. So crawling back under blankets is a way to warm my bones. So is drying my laundry and baking something. I may toss something in to the oven tonight.

Hi everybody!

I have had a quiet day here with Maxi away.

I slept in, did some kitchen chores, talked w/ my sister in PA for a long time, worked on craft donations for the Church Christmas fair next month, etc., etc. I didn't yet get to that pile of yellow snap beans to blanch & freeze, but I will.

A while ago I signed up for cool info & tips concerning ones kitchen. Then I signed up for an 8 Week Cure & each week they email you an assignment on what to accomplish that week to clean up/improve your kitchen. I am having fun w/ it & it's motivating me to get to some of the bigger tasks I tend to put off in favor of the day to day operations & clean ups.

Nana I need some of your tips that are working so well. I've picked up some weight this year & need to drop 25 lbs. But I'm so proud of you, I could burst! Wa-ay to go, girlfriend!

Carol I hope you enjoyed your time sitting in the sun & reading.

Good afternoon! Nana, congrats, that's great! Tina, we were a little chilled here today too. Aros kept trying to start a fire but the wood won't burn despite having dried outside for about a year. It's not sizzling like it's wet so we don't know why it won't burn. I've kept myself busy to stay warm. I've been working on laundry, I decorated the house for Halloween, I did the dishes, made pancakes (froze the left overs for future breakfasts), took a shower, and I think that's about it. Aros came into the kitchen when I putting dishes away asking if I was going to have a baby soon. He asked where all this energy came from and why I was doing so much around the house today. I told him that this is what happens when I can run, and when I eat right and take my vitamins. He said to keep it up so I told him to keep supporting my running and my special dietary needs and this is how I'll always be, give or take. He hasn't always been super supportive of me needing to eat differently. He is much better about it now.

That is great, Cheryl. It is nice to have him on board with your diet. And with your running too.

Perhaps Rebekah brought it with her when she brought the pumpkin---after all, she is too young to understand that Cindy can't be left alone with a knife----

She wasn't alone with a knife. She was demonstrating to her 5 year old niece how not to use one.

just so you know, Tina--I for one understood what Cindy was doing.
Last night, I complemented her on helping her niece.

Yeah, I know. I was joshing. Cindy is often a danger to herself. But we love her.

I don't know why...but I have a LOT of kitchen knives...but I only use 4 of them. So...to make the pumpkin carving easier I sharpened the 3 I would be using...I mean, I sharpened them like razor blades. I was trying to be so careful...but when you have one hand inside the pumpkin and then jab a knife through from the outside, there's a small chance your hand might be in the way...and, well...mine was.
It hurts like hell today. But, tomorrow I will probably accidentally cut myself somewhere else then forget about how bad this one hurts.

Somebody has got to be a good sport and take this kitten off my hands. I'm getting way too attached to him. I was hoping my mom would let Rebekah take him home, but NO! Rebekah kept asking me WHY the kitty didn't have a name yet...and I told her I wasn't naming it because I am going to find a good home for it. I told her I wrote a song about it, though...so she thinks I really wrote "Well, I been through the desert on a cat with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain. blah, blah, blah..." I cheated, huh?

Plagiarism. She will find out someday then there goes your pedestal!

Hey...I already have that covered. In a few months I'll let her listen to "Horse With No Name" on utube and I'll tell her they stole my idea!
