Gosh, last night there was a fire in a nearby town, completely destroying a 4 story apartment building, housing 12 families. 60 firefighters from 5 towns responded to the blaze, to no avail. Residents escaped in their pj's & bare feet or socks; many pets did not. Cars exploded, neighboring houses & apts ignited. The strong winds didn't help any.

Just now they announced that it was definitely an ARSON!

Why in the world would anyone purposefully burn out 12 families of everything they own? Irreplacable treasures such as pets and things such as photos. The residents are just plain shocked.

I had to be in that town early today before dialysis & was 1/2 block away (across a parking lot) from that building. We got out of the car and I couldn't quite believe my eyes. Although it was only a structure, it was sickening to see.

I am relieved none of the people were hurt.

Good morning, everybody!

It is still morning, just barely, but I did make it.

Geez, it seems my "days off" are busier than ever.

I realized over the last two days that me & Maxi are both feeling a bit overwhelmed by our lives these days. So one little thing gone wrong or added to the load & we are very upset! So, I think we need to specifically make an effort to streamline & simplify to give ourselves a bit more breathing room & easy operations in each day's doings.

I felt badly for the kid yesterday. I always wake him at 6 & he leaves at 6:45. I got him up at 6 but things went terribly awry for him & he was very upset leaving & I was very upset staying.

Unfortunately, his dad had called the night before to say Maxi was going to his place to stay the night last night. Which meant he had to carry all his sleep over stuff with him to school, which he couldn't do. (Not enough hands). So he had to leave his comfortor here.

I called his dad, a little stressed (read that as "irate") and told him to get the kid a blanket to keep at his house so Maxi doesn't have to carry his back & forth... particularly not on school days. (Whoever heard of ordinary households not having a spare blankie?)

So I've decided to re-vamp how we do things... when the lunch gets packed, when I do the ironing, when Maxi packs his back pack, etc.

Gotta make it so we can have happier days together.

Good morning. Howling winds and cool out today. But I still need to brave it all to bring in wood. I am glad to have Ted home and not worry about driving him to school.
I have a friend coming to stay for a few weeks beginning this weekend so fluffing up the treehouse for company. And working on my housekeeping skills for inside too.

You either Tina thumbup

Well the shed is cleaned and organized..that was a big thing on my chore list. applaud DH is gone back to cut a small load of firewood and I've been grounded from helping. lol It's a great feeling knowing that my chores will get finished this weekend.

Baby is coming for a visit this evening while DD goes to the movies with a friend...so the rest of outdoor work will hopefully get tackled tomorrow.

Hoping everyone is having a great day, and Happy Birthday to Tre clown

Glad to hear the baby is coming for a visit tonight, Tam.

As I said earlier, my days off are busier than ever. But today, at least, I am looking forward to Maxi coming home around 5.

He said he would like a hamburger for dinner, so that is what I will make.

Did you get your agency changed??

No, I haven't changed agencies -- yet!

I have spoken w/ the owner of this one & complained of the office staffer who constantly fouls up my schedule & confuses my girls. I told her I do not want that woman involved in my case any more because IF I leave the agency, it will be because of that woman! The owner told me she would settle the issues for me at the office then gave me her personal cell number & told me to call her directly if issues arise again.

So, we'll see.

Right now I am just so tired I could cry. I haven't been feeling very well for about the last 10 days but I think I am improving slowly. Now it is time to rest before Maxi gets home & we begin the last of the busy week. So I will stretch out in front of the tv & if I doze off, great, and if not, oh well.

Did I mention I've been invited to do an Avon sales booth at my church fair on 11/20 with the proceeds going to the ladies club? The ladies club does useful charity work all year... supports the local food pantry; the women's shelter; sends kids to summer camp, etc.

I don't have much to sell at the booth, but I will have a drawing for a nice basket and I can take orders for holiday shopping.

Maxi will be away that weekend, so...

Tamara---so glad to heasr t hat yo are getting your "to do list" knocked o ut. I know that will please you so. Nice to hear that your DH got more wood in as well. You'll get to teh end of all the chores eventually---I have faith. Have fun tonight with that beautiful grandbaby.

Merme---that fire was an aweful thing to have happened--(I just read back) I am also sorry about Maxi's stress---I have seen blankets with their own carrying cases--perhaps if you could find one that would be a good start to his Christmas gifts.

I know that you have not been feeling well---I think you need to consider trying to take it a bit easier than you have been so your body can try to recover some. I worry about your health.

Good luck at the church booth.

Remeber what today is and Thank a Veteran !!!

Good morning, everyone !!!
Anybody home ???

I woke up, really wanted to go back to sleep but decide to stay up so here I am.

Today it is cardiac rehab again & tehn some grocery shopping for my pseudo-Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. I invited my girls & their "boys" over---but since it will be Sunday---I had to invite my MIL so I invited my parents as well. But hey, family is family after all. But now I feel I should have invited my sister, brother & the rest of my family--but oh well---Next time I do this I will decide the day & then who can come will come---

I still have not done any cleaning either---but oh well--I work better under pressure anyway---

Good morning, ladies.

I should be doing yard work today as well. I know my flower beds would appreciate it. But I have errands to run. Perhaps I will have a few hours to commit to it this afternoon.

I am wondering on the Monday thing, Tamara. Is that when DH goes back to work, maybe?
I got Ted off to school and the treehouse is cleaned up for my friend's visit. I still need to stock the fridge with more choices for food and snacking.

The whole point of him taking today off as well was to help me...I am not impressed right now.

So glad you get to have some company Tina, hoping you all have a great time.

My friend, Sheli, and I have been friends since she was in diapers fifty-eight years ago. We keep losing each other and reconnecting. And beginning again like no time has passed. She is a very true hippie and a lovely person. I am happy to spend time with her.

Hi everybody!

Hope y'all had a good day.

I dunno about here. The days seem so long, demanding & busy it feels like a whirlwind of effort. Maybe we're doing okay; it is hard to tell.

Right now Maxi is resting by playing on his laptop. His friend Dom stayed over, but Dom goes to sleep very early. I'm having a cup of Sugar Plum Holiday tea & thinking about going to bed... sleeping uninterrupted for many hours has a certain appeal.

I had a tough encounter w/ UPS today. They were supposed to deliver my shipment from Avon this afternoon. I have customers expecting their orders on Sunday. When it didn't come, I did the tracking thing on-line & it said there was an "exception" because there was a problem w/ my address.

I called UPS. The problem was someone had typed my zip code wrong by the last number. They refused to fix it although my entire town only has one zip code. They said it was "for security reasons" but I was welcome to drive more than an hour to pick up the box myself!

I called Avon & they fixed it right away, contacting UPS on my behalf. PHEW!

The entire thing was rediculous. UPS bills itself as a delivery specialist yet pretended to not know that my town only has one zip code.

So... after tea, it may be bedtime!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Good morning. I slept in very late for me today. But I was up in the wee hours for a while with some killer winds. The noises out there had my dog feeling like we were under attack. He has gotten more protective over the last year or so.
Today is laundry and general housekeeping.
