Good morning! We got to see some of the eclipse last night. Pretty neat! Normal far at work today, not too busy, not too slow. My co-worker and I are going for a short run during work and tonight I have PT. We still have not gone grocery shopping but DH gets paid today so we'll go tonight for sure. I did some light shopping for myself last night so at least I have things in the house to eat. Well, I better get to work, have a great day everyone!

Good (second) morning. Because I am a weather nut and have not suffered personal disasters, I have really enjoyed this weird rain. We are supposed to have a few dry days after today and tomorrow. We did have a damper then normal fall and fire season so fewer wild fires. And that helps with less flooding and hillsides sliding than could be in these rains.
Cheryl, I hope you enjoy your run and your PT and the shopping. Food is always good.
Carol again, food is good. Planning for the possibilities of weather is a great idea. But I hope your Christmas is just lovely.
My roof is holding up pretty good except the leaky place over the deck. But it will not hurt the deck too much. I had hoped for the light rain Monday they had predicted so I could get up on the roof and tarp it there. But light rain did not happen. I got an additional 5 1/2 inches from yesterday morning to this.
Today/tonight we are supposed to get the worst yet out of this series of storms. I need to haul in more wood because it is colder too. I will do that in a few minutes. After my coffee.

Tamara was quite out of it...they gave me some relaxation medication that knocked me out before they even 'put me under', my pressure and heart dropped so low that it gave them a fright...I told them about this ahead of time. My body doesn't react well to pain medications and such...still feel a little 'light headed'.

I'll get back when I feel a bit better.

I am trying to clean up the house now so I can begin to wrap things tonight. Tomorrow I have to grocery shop and go pick up 2 last gifts, after rehab.
Then I will be staying home & finishing up the cleaning & wrapping.-

I haven't bought one single present this year...
I finally found a box of Christmas cards...I might get those out after Christmas...I only have like 6 stamps here.

Had a great time at the resident party. One of three done. I just received an email from my mom letting me know that my step-dad was diagnosed with rectal cancer. That's all I know right now. I do know that it appeared the lump had not spread which is good. Not a very good present for him.

Now THERE is an idea I can live with---I think I too will sit down and send out Christmas cards AFTER christmas.

Well, it's been a very long sort of day here and I got many things accomplished. But now it is time to make an end.

I hope to see Tamara back with us with all the medications slept off & feeling more herself.

This can be a difficult time of year for many of us. Dark & Cold have been two of mankind's oldest foes and I often feel that this season stirs up that intrinsic longing for warmth and light and it can make us feel lonely and lost. But Thank God He sent us Light and not a moment too soon! Fire was the boon of the human race... light and warmth had come. How much moreso can we rejoice in the Light that was given us at Christmas... deeply, lastingly, personally overcoming our ancient foes! So I heartily encourage y'all to wrap those gifts and get those cards out and express your joy that we are no longer in the cold and dark!

I went to bed--& tossed & turned--& so then got back up & loked on the computer. I found that the last 2 shipments that I have somoing to teh house are due in the 23rd. gee I hope that is right.

Then tomorrow I was going to get a Day Spa Gift Certificate for my youngest, but I think Mom will just make up a gift certificate here at home & give her the money to get a Massage. I looked online & there are just so many options I KNOW I would pick the wrong one---so I think letting her decide which she wants is best.

Now, I will hope that I am able to get some rest.

Snowy here but not too cold.

Yesterday Maxi got inserts for his shoes & we ordered special shoes for him as well. Now his shins won't hurt when he walks & it should also relieve his knee pain. The shoes should arrive in the mail soon. We choose a slip-on style rather than one with laces & I think they are handsome. He can't wear anything that looks like sneakers to school so these will be fine for the school day. After school & weekends he can wear whatever he wants that is comfortable for him & his inserts will fit inside of.

The man who made his inserts is the same fellow who has made my legs all along & I knew him for years before he started making the legs for me. So we feel very confident in his decisions & skills.

Gotta go take care of some business before I leave for dialysis, so I hope everyone has a good day & that we see Tam again feeling well.

Most of the snow has melted away here. and it is in the mid 20's right now---This was supposed to be the pick day of the week---we shall see.

It is a snowy, windy night here & I am glad we are indoors! Wrapping gifts, listening to Christmas specials, hanging out together. NICE!

I'm putting a post in the prayer requests thread.

Good evening everyone. Had a mild day at work and then picked up subway for dinner. A pretty easy day overall for me. Tomorrow is my busy day but it's also my Friday and I get a three day weekend this weekend. Friday we are planning to go out for dinner, Saturday we're going to my FIL's house, and Sunday I'm going to my mom's house to exchange gifts with my parents and grandparents. I think I'm going to take a hot bath with a good book and get to bed early. I say that every night and it doesn't happen and I'm exhausted so tonight I must make the going to bed early thing happen. Taking my anxiety pill ought to help.
