Good morning, everybody! Late last night I was cruising TV stations for something to watch and I came in on The Temptations, the movie. I probably have seen this movie ten times because I so like their music, but sure enough, I watched it again, staying up way too late. Finally got to bed after midnight and woke up again around 3 to find Maxi up again also! He was having a very restless night himself. I stayed up until he was well settled and he seemed to stay put that time, thankfully. He has a busy day today, heading out to his father's place to have Christmas there. We spent some time earlier in the evening planning our New Year's party and came up with a nice menu of things the two of us like. I will shop tomorrow for that. The coffee is very very good this morning, so help yourselves.

But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Good morning. Although I am seriously considering crawling back under my blankets. I have nothing pressing on my list today. So dozing in the rain sounds like a good plan.

And I did snuggle back down for a while. No additional sleeping but I warmed up pretty well. I had to get back up to let my dog out and add more wood to fires and let the dog back in. He does not like it out in the cold.

He does not like it out in the cold. My kitty was born in July when it super hot...I even took a fan outside where the mommy kitty and her babies were, to cool them off so they didn't die from the intense heat. So, kitty has been in the house since his mommy got killed. He ran out the door awhile ago when I took the trash out and I guess he was pretty surprised to find it cold outside...with several inches of snow on the ground. He ran back inside real fast!

The original plan was to get a dog that would be outdoors. We even have a lovely covered dog run. But Black Butt has such short hair he chills more quickly than I do. And he is old now too. He will be 11 in Feb. He has been such a good family member. I do not mind so much when he sneaks up onto the forbidden furniture or steals the blankets from my son in the night.

Tina, I never knew your dogs name, love it! Today is another nice and easy day at work. Had a bit of an issue with Ashley yesterday, sometimes I think being a step-parent is harder. I'm sure it'll work out but my feelings did get hurt. My co-worker and I went for a run around the lake and that helped a lot. I'm feeling much better mentally. Boy am I glad to have my running back.

I am very glad you have your running back as well, Cheryl. Black Butt was a pretty young puppy when he was dumped out at the high school where John taught. He was pretty much blindingly white with almost a perfect black circle on the right side and a black butt. I didn't name him, he kind of came with the name.

...wonder if that might have been one those epiphany things happening... We had been discussing getting a dog. I wanted a big dog no particular breed. John wanted a golden retriever. Then he called me from school and asked me to come look at this dog. I asked what kind. He said he didn't know it was white with a black butt. I stopped on my way and bought a collar and leash. Still haven't a clue as to breed or mix.

I stopped on my way and bought a collar and leash. Sounds like it didn't matter what breed it was. My best dog ever was a mix...Black Lab and 99 things mixed with it probably. ...I wouldn't have taken a million dollars for that dog.

Hi everybody! Maxi is away overnight at his dad's, having Christmas with all of them. You know I always think the house it way too empty when the kid isn't here. I know he is having a great time... I called earlier and could hear the littlest one squealing in the background, giggling like crazy! When I got home from dialysis tonight, I called my home care agency & fired my attendant. Maxi and I have worked really hard with this girl but she just got more & more beligerant and impossible. When I struggle to the point of getting sick to my stomach thinking about a girl coming back again, it is time to stop. The agency said they may not be able to replace her tomorrow & I said I'd rather be without anyone tomorrow than have her here again. So, hopefully this time they will find a girl who knows the job and wants it.

Having no attendant for a few days is better than one who makes you sick to your stomach. I had a husband that made me sick to my stomach when it got close to the time he was coming home...I divorced him promptly.

we had 2 pure breed Border Collies with papers. the 2nd one was a niece to the first male. Then my youngest started volunttering at an animal shelter. My Dh saiod no pets will be brought home--well soon he was calling the sholter telling them not to adopt out this dog & that h e and our youngest woul dbe there to pick him up. We have had "Dante" now for over 12 years.
he is a very well behaved (house) dog, who is an Australian mix.
Whne I am sick he stays really close to me laying in the way of anyone who might come toward me. And this dog is my DD's pet---who happens to live here-----

ya know save for a few shoes when he was a pup, Dante has been the perfect Dog as well. They said that 3 families returned him tot eh shelter--I cannot for the life of me figure out why. The only thing I can come up with is that he must have been destined to live with us. he is a real keeper of a pet. If he could talk we would be set---

If he could talk we would be set--- I'm having a big problem with that "talking pet" thing. Because Lola talks I expect my kitty to talk...and he won't.

And almost every day I am glad my son and my dog do not talk. They communicate quite well without speech. And I have a lot of peaceful times.

I would like a Puli or a Komondor dog. Maxi doesn't think they are as cool as I do. Go figure. There is no accounting for taste! Yah, Cindy, I'm a big one for peace in the home. This girl's shockingly bad behavior really fouled up the peace here. Not to mention what she did to my kitchen! I'll spare ya the gory details but it is going to take me days of effort to unscramble the mess she made. Too bad the agency won't pay me to fix it all back up! Now that is a plan.
