Just in for a sec..had an unplanned few days visit with DD and her computer crashed so I couldn't check in..back home now. I'll catch up tonight..my house is like a cyclone.

it was good--I love being there I just do not like the time it takes---I think I am going to begin setting the alarm & going very early in the AM for the last 11 times

It is working it into your day that is such a drag. I used to drive John to the hospital between 2-4 days a week and take ted to and from school too. It wasn't hard driving but I couldn't get a whole lot else done either.

well see that is exactly it!!
and at teh end of this 36 times I will need to find another place to go to for permanent----so I think I will cut it down to 2 times a week--because you hit the nail on the head---I can get nothing else done on those days.

Good evening! I cooked myself a super healthy dinner tonight. I was goin to eat crap but I was having a fat day today and decided to cook a high veggie dinner. I don't feel that I'm eating enough veggies. I cooked an acorn squash and then sauteed mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers, kale, and quinoa. Mixed it all together and hoped that the flavor of the different veggies would be enough. I liked it. Of course, now I want to eat my chocolate bar that Aros bought for me yesterday.

Hi Cheryl. Now I'm wondering what got bleeped.
I eat lots of veggies. It seems to be what I crave the most of and as it is healthy, I go with it. Well, the vegetables are healthy but with the butter I often add, maybe not so much.

I didn't even see that I had typed cr@p, guess that's not allowed.

Good morning. Our mid-winter heatwave is over, I guess. Today I need to bring in some serious wood. For a few weeks I have just lit a little fire at night to keep the lowest chill out of the house.

You have to get creative to get around that [bleepin'] censor thing.
I have a list of alternate ways to say bad words on here.

Cheryl--that "type" of food that you ate the other night???
well !! That is just the type of food my Drs think I dhould eat----I finally geve up and I am eating it now. But ya know that stuff tastes bad...no added salt--hardly no fat----They wanted to restrict my carbs but I said enough is enough.

I must be eating some o f it though because I have not lost very much more weight in over a month. There for while (when I was not eating it) the pounds were dropping off.

It i s a sunny beautiful day today. if I were not puppy sitting I would be out doing something--"they" say we are going to get a "significant" amount of snow between Monday & Wednesday.

Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH)

I like that "type" of food. I've never been much of a salt person, instead I prefer the natural flavors of things. If it doesn't have much flavor on it's own then I generally don't eat it. Except for quinoa, you can mix that with anything and it tastes good, it's just bland on it's own.

Good morning! Aros let the neighbor cat in and she's been going crazy over the attention. She was so excited to be petted that she kept trying to bite me. She doesn't have baby teeth anymore so it's not so fun for me when she does that. I just stop petting her every time she bites, seems to work. Aros gave her some food and treating her like the princess she thinks she is, she got to eat ON the table. Crazy man, he sure does have a soft spot for her. We all do. Today we are planning a basement clean up, with at least one trip to the dump, possibly two. Aros is making coffee, I haven't coffee in quite a while and it sure does smell good. Maybe I'll treat myself to a small cup today.

No I have not Tina--although I do seem to have heard of it before---

I had cholesterol & high BP (bot not really high just borderline.) Issues. I had a BP of say 128/89 quite often--and not one of 3 doctores was concerned---so I was not.

long story short--I have "small vein disease" so I have to be extra careful with my "build-ups" in my heart veins. What would not affect somebody else will affect me. Also high cholesterol is hereditary in my family--I knew that and ignored it--my bad----

But Tina, thanks, I will look into that "DASH" diet---

Cheryl--when I s aid "type" I was referring to food that tasted like "Cr-p" I have even given my meal to the dog & gone without before....
Often times I would rather be hungry.

sad thing is often food comforted me--(like a big bowl of buttered salted popcorn)

Oh, okay. When I said cr_p I was referring to buying something really unhealthy and high in calories, not something that tasted bad. I guess I should have clarified that a little better. I should go running but I don't feel like it.

The DASH diet, although it says for hypertension, really will feed you what you need for your current problems too, Carol.
I knew you were referring to unhealthy as opposed to healthy stuff, Cheryl.

I'm out of "The Chair" for a little while...had to go out and feed the birdies. Tried to make friends again with the stray cat ("Cat Daddy")...(he's Sparta's daddy). He let me get about 10 feet away from him while he ate the food I brought out for him.

You are going to end up with two cats soon.

Our basement looks presentable and I did end up running today too. A pretty good day I'd say.

Awesome, Cheryl. I didn't do much today beyond bring in wood and do laundry. Spent some time playing with Teddy and the dog, bot separately and together.

I went to mom's house and to grocery shop.
I also filled up my bird feeders.
Tonight after supper I made my DH some lemon bars (from a box).
I told him if he likes them I would make him some from scratch.

Thinking of inviting my girls & thier "boys" over for Pizza tomorrow night. Sounds like fun for me.

Damn cat got out...like to never caught him.
He got under my truck and would NOT come out.

Hi all,
Well I finally woke up or at least feel awake now and it's 6 in the evening- body was up and I did stuff but felt like I was watching myself do it- got desperate to sleep so took a sleeping pill last night- let Joe do boys and I slept but oh it takes me forever to wake up after....
I got up and made waffles for them for breakfast- made extra for the freezer too... I have got to say the boys were really good here- even the big one- let him go to girlfriends twice and he came home exactly when he was supposed to and didn't argue or tease his brother- even cleaned of table this morning and loaded dishwasher... I told Carrie and she say "sure for you guys they are good" well gotta be some perks to being the grandparent....LOL!
We have had 2 days of beautiful weather...int the 60's but supposed to cool down tomorrow and snow Mon- Tue night into Wed-- and be -8... Joe filled up our garage wood and the house basket of wood too... thats just crazy cold!
Well off to convince Joe to cook some salmon for dinner... I am going to go to bed early tonight if it kills me... I need to just sleep till I wake up again... hopefully it will work...
