I do not always shop. But this year is a good year so they are getting good stuff. I may not have much at Christmas though. It is not always a matter of money on hand. Sometimes it is ideas that are thin.

It's a matter of money with me....I am on a very tight budget. It's not like back in the old days when I could just go out and buy whatever I wanted. What a difference a day makes....
But...Rachel said that me being alive is the best birthday present she could ever have, so I'm going to try to stay alive so I don't have to buy her anything. lol

lol Hello everyone. Been busy and sick this last week. DH and I cleaned out our garage yesterday. Holy cow there was a lot of trash in there! Today we plan to clean out his old office area and make that storage for all the kid's stuff so we can have more room in our basement again. He's sleeping right now and has a lot of trouble sleeping so I'm not going to wake him up, I'll let him get the rest that he needs. I haven't had breakfast yet and I'm starving so I'm going to try to figure out something to eat.

We went to our garden this morning, as we do nearly every day, and found two surprises! One was a zucchini that somehow hid from me and grew to about 5 lbs. And in the process of pushing aside the giant leaves to get the giant squash out, I found a little frog hanging out on one of the leaves. I screamed of course. Wish I'd had my camera. I showed it to my daughter, who immediately wanted to pick it up. I didn't let because I didn't want her to squish the little guy. Lots of spiders, too. Yuck!! But I know they are good for the garden.

Just got in from trying to nap. I may try again.
Those large zukes are impressive but the best ones for taste and texture are really the small to medium sized ones. And they will hide. Also while putting effort into large you sacrifice more produce.

I don't know how that monster managed to hide from me. That explains why I wasn't getting as many others recently though. We're there almost every day so I pick 'em when they're small. They're bush baby zucchini so they're supposed to be small anyhow. We dumped the monster unfortunately. Maybe some mice or bunnies will make a meal of it.

Gee it turned out to be a nice day here!

Cagardengirl ~ wow, a giant zucchini AND a little frog in one day. Neat!

Cindy ~ wish you could come here and make fried green tomatoes! We'd love eating some with you! lol

Hi, Bill!!!

Maxi and I have about worked ourselves past exhaustion. There are about 20 boxes and bins, the big curio cabinet, the shelves for the bookcases and Maxi's big red wagon to yet be brought in. The kid has never done so much hauling or stair climbing in his whole life.

We worked out a system. He brings the box out of the POD, through the parking lot, up the stairs & into the door. We sit the box in my lap at an angle so it is on the arm rests. Then I can "carry" it through the apt and deposit it somewhere out of the way of my chair's path. I've gotten walled in a few times, though, but Maxi is good at shoving things too.

Today he set up his big desk in his "creative room" in front of the window overlooking our street facing the river. It is a nice view for him & I told him he'd write great stories from that vantage point.

We plan to be finished bringing stuff in tomorrow so they can pick up the POD soon and we won't have to pay for another month.

Hi all.
Its soo hot today. egad Over a hundred and I'm wilting. Well actually me and my hubby have been holed up in the LR with the curtains closed and the AC runnin and watching movies most of the day. It's been nice tho cuz thats very rare. We are in the garage more than we're in our LR I swear. Thats the spot we take breaks from yard work or do other projects. We even have a tv out there, chairs and some carpet remnants. And too top it all off.....A Keg Fridge with beer on tap!! Thats the only way to take a break lol adrink

Actually I jest; well not about the keg fridge but I don't drink beer but my husband sure enjoys it on these hot days. Not today tho, it's too hot to even step out there tday!

Hope all is well!!

I tried a second nap and it didn't fare well. So I guess I'm up for the evening to come.
I'm now attempting to figure out dinner. I'm thinking butterscotch pudding and peanut butter cookies. But will have some pasta and veggies and a grape salad first.

I think the peanutbutter cookies and the pudding sounds like a good dinner to me!!!!! lol I'm such a sweetfreak really, I swear I could live on sweets. I do make myself eat some dinner to get some protien in me and I love most all veges, but I can't resist the sweets. It's a miracle that I'm not huge. Especially breyers chocalate ice cream. OMG I'm addicted !!!!

I didn't get a nap today either so I have to try to go to bed early, which I say every Sunday bc I have to wrk in the am but it never happens and even when it does, I can't sleep anyway.

Oh well, what do you do? You have a drink, thats what you do!!! I said I don't drink BEER remember bow

I never used to eat much in the way of sweets. But it changed. That has been the last 10 years or so. But I am still mindful of weight and things. I have been slowly losing weight the last couple of years and that is good. I am pigging out on fruits and veggies.

We finished the basement today! We didn't think we'd be able to get both the garage and the basement done in two days but we need. It looks good and it feels great to have the extra room and to know we got rid of a lot of garbage. I had taken tomorrow off so I get to have a nice day off doing whatever I feel like. It actually got into the 80's today but I'm not sure what's predicted for tomorrow yet. No matter what the weather, I'm going running.

Cindy ~ so sorry me 'n the kid woke you up moving our stuff around! We'll try to be quieter from now on. But since you've been having trouble sleeping, might I crochet you something?

lol

We ended up going to a local pizza place for dinner. It makes many specialty pizza and is very fine, but tonight we had calzones. I had chicken & ham; Maxi had meatballs in his. We would have cooked "Sunday Dinner" at home, if we could have found our kitchen under all the boxes. I know it is there, somewhere, but gee, darned if I could find it tonight!!

Our waitress was a sweetheart & gave me a big hug when we were leaving. I only had enough cash on me to leave her a 10% tip rather than my usual 30%, so I explained it was so small not because she did anything wrong; we were just on a tight budget tonight. And I promised I'd make it up to her the next time. She laughed & said I didn't have to; she was just glad to see me 'n Maxi again & hoped we'd come back. Big hugz. Nice young woman! The place is only 6 blocks from our apt, so that's a good thing. YUM!!

I watched Funny Girl tonight. Man dear, that Barbra Streisand can sing! wowza.
