Most of these have not opened yet, but they are still a very welcomed sight!

Thanks everyone!

Dodge - I had to go out and find these bulbs - one year I was taking a walk with a friend over by my parents' house, and a few houses there had seas of this very pretty blue - I had no idea what they were, so I picked one tiny flower and took it to my local nursery on the way home. Some people even grow them in their grass - it looks so pretty that way, but I know my husband would not be up for that!

Since they are a fall planted tiny bulb, I had to wait 1/2 a year for them to be for sale around here - fortunately I remembered where I had written down the name. I do think I need to get more of these bulbs this year, because they plants are so small that they aren't seen easily unless in a large clump.

I haven't planted any snowdrops, but I do like the way they look.

Thought I'd post another clump of my scillas - they are getting brighter as they fill in - gotta love that color!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE bachelor buttons - haven't been successful in growing any though - lucky you, Sheri!

The scilla are actually a bit bluer - I have a hard time getting true pictures of blue flowers.

same here lynne. That bachelor button is very blue but I couldn't get it to show up right.

I've got seeds if you want to try again. It may be too cold in your region. They come out early.

naw Mom grows BB all the time--or used to--here, and Lynne & I are both in zone 6---
I have some BB seed from you Sheri--and with all of my wonderful happenings I have not been able to plant them---
if they are still good, (I was supposed to have planted them spring of 2008), I can send them on to Lynne---someone needs to get the joy from them.

Beautiful BB by the way, Sheri. I loved seeing them

Thank you both for your offers - I actually do have some seeds, but as I've said... I've not been too successful. Right now I don't have room for any more early bloomers, but if Don gets to help me dig out a few new gardens this year, I might give them another try.

Carol - could someone in your family sprinkle some of your seeds in a garden for you?

Great minds, Lynne---

Valarie wanted to put her wildflower mix into my newest flower bed (where I had all of my Galliaradia's last year) but all I could think of was the 1 to 2 inch bees that they tend to draw--so we will wait to see what returns from last year. Yesterday she bought some Sweet William, Mixed Zinnia, Shasta Daisy, and some Alyssum to fill in what does not return...

Since she is doing all the work around here now, I guess I should let her make the decisions for this years flowers----

Are those seeds, or grown plants that she bought? The only things for sale here now are pansies and spring bulb plants that are in bloom.

I must find more scilla bulbs next fall - they are filling in so nicely now that they are in full bloom, but there are some "bald" spots that I want to add to. It's such a refreshing shade of blue. There is a house nearby that has some that have "naturalized" into a patch of pachysandra - it looks so pretty driving by!
