I have been around. I just don't seem to have much to say. I feel my puttering, housework-y things are boring.
We had rain here today but not a big rain. My ditches held up well. But I have a leaky place in my porch roof to repair. I'll wait until it dries out though.
Can you close up the one I opened, Bill?

Yeah... my bird feeder has a few roof leaks too... Guess it has to rain for us to find the leaks. I AM NOT READY FOR WINTER!!!

I agree, Bill--I say everyone that belongs to the Forum should move to say Florida or Arizona for the winter---we could all live in the same place & start our own town !!!

Other than lots and lots of leaves everywhere, its all good here.

I am home. I made my first ever adventure trip to Bass Pro Shops. Christmas shopping. I have a very happy older son today. That is a 4+ acre store. Just the interior, not the boat yard outdoors. I'm tired. Teddy got tired about half way through and decided instead of pushing the basket, he wanted to ride in it. That was fine with me.
I got home to more and more leaf piles made by my nice neighbor. The only thing I have been able to get him to accept is a bottle of tequila once in a while.
I will finish off my day getting my little son ready for a new school week. But first, a nap.

I've been a busy gnome today. The Seahawks won, Yay!

I was supposed to be able to sleep today--but no, I was up well before Rod left for work & he leaves a bit before 6am.

Good news is, I have laundry going and I have cut all of dantes dog treats in half (I had to buy the large ones), you see, he gets a treat when he eats all of his food (had to do that back when he was not eating) and he also gets them when he comes right back in after being outside. (before I did that, he would take off down the street)---so treats it is,

Barb--I am sure that Dante` likes my methods as well---I do so wish yoiu could be here to hear him "knock" on the door to get in---you see: awhile ago now, he saw us answer the door when someone knocked----so now when he i s done outside, he scratches o n the door & we let him in--He is one smart "Puppy". :wink: (he is 13+ )

Busy, busy day. I really do not like to shop. I love having the funds to shop with, though. And to pay the bills.
I am on my way out again and need to stop at a store before I pick my son up from school.

I was a landscaper and landscape designer, Dodge. I quit a couple years ago, after John died. I just do not have the free time anymore to do that. My son needs constant supervision and his father is not around to do a part any more.
Ted is too big to ride on my lap on the tractor like he used to sometimes. And he won't drive it himself. But right this minute he is unloading wood from the wheelbarrow into my wood box. He can be helpful.

Gosh time flies dodge. Probably doesn't seem like it to you though. And Tina, I didn't know you were working while John was sick. Or maybe I've forgotten. I think when time flew it took some of my brain cells along.

Yes, I was still working while John was sick. Just 2 jobs, a few hours a week. I worked them in between driving Ted to school and John to the hospital. I stopped working about 2 months after John died. Tiring times but I was kind of proud too.

Sheri .........long an horrible year.
I am just startign to pick up my marbles now.. Mor confident. Still has some issues to work on .

But I still like where I am .

You can do it .....I was armed with prayers everywhere, an family an friends who did care.
Some still say just pick up the phone or walk over , we can talk, no matter if we help or not.
Occasionally I take them up on it .

Sundays was hardest. Our favorite day to go for a ride to anywhere.. Convertible or Motorcycle or what ever.....I miss that .

Tina, am I right?? Did John pass in 2009 ?? If that is right it surely does not seem that long----my how time DOES fly---(or pass)

My dad will be gone 1 year this next monday--and I know that is not the same thing, as losing a husband, but all of this talk did bring it back to mind--(not that it is ever very far away)

I remember your daddys passing also. After the 1st anniversary, I have gained more confidence.....
I am sure Tina has also.......having her kids near helps bunches..
We can do it .Must move ahead,,,,,,,So odd making my own decisions an hoping they were correct........HD did all my thinking in that line. He even told me daily what we were eating for supper.. He did lots of cooking in the winter..

I have photos of him all over the house an little reminders ..

Yes, Carol. May, 2009. He was ill for two years before that. There is still so much to do. Things got backed up due to illness and taking care of basic business. There are many good times had though.

Well, My sympathies again to the both of you----I guess in the sad times, it is good that we have this forum & each other.
