I'm awake, waiting for my melatonin to kick in. Hopefully soon, I'm tired but I don't feel like I could fall asleep yet. I forgot to take my acid reflux pill all day and ate too much for dinner. Took my pill but I'm still getting a little reflux. It's back to work in the morning.

Wish I could hide out in my house today. I've got work to do though but I probably won't be at work for a full day. The sun is shining off and on today and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny too. Can't wait for spring.

Thanks Beth--and my sister is doing fine. They discharged her this morning. So we wnet over to her house to see her instead. It was a much shorter drive, and I am happy to say she is doing very well and that I am thankful for that. I am going over tomorrow to take her a few things. I intend to help as I can.

Thanks Cheryl,
I found the celiac site .. going to spend a lot of time there I think... will tell my dd about the deduction thing... didn't know about that but guess it makes sense.. we found th uldi bread too and we were told about another store closer that has a big gluten free section checking that out soon too...
I will also tell dd about the dog food troubles... I have a feeling they use purina for their 3 dogs... and they have a petsmart here close so hopefully they carry the good brand for them... boy seems like the whole family is going on food makeovers!
Well off to make my grocery list... for us... and yes I am becoming quite a label reader... takes a long time to shop now..
Nana

I think one of the hardest parts of changing to gluten free may be dining out and finding the right things on a menu. Especially for a kid. Good luck, Nana.

I think Tina is right.
With my mom I know she says that many times a thing may be indeed gluten free, but has been run thru some machine that previously held some type of wheat/oats/ barley & so the food item is contaminated, but the lable does not reflect that occurance. because of that, if you find a food that had no offensive foods stuff listeed still gives poor Nicoli troubles, call the company, this oversite could well be the culpret. I am just saying, please be aware. Also differnt people have different degres of this illness. I will hope that your grandson's is not a severe case.

and best of luck---I will say that having such a diagnosis now-a-days is far easier to deal with than it was back 40 years ago when my mom was first diagnosed. Good luck & best wishes to you all.

Most labels these days will say if the product is made in a facility that also processes wheat. The only oatmeal I buy is the Bob's Red Mill because it's made in a guaranteed gluten free facility. Oats are notorious for being contaminated with gluten otherwise.

Had a pretty productive day today. Got a good amount of work done so tomorrow should be fairly easy for me. Came home and gave DH a leg rub, got dinner, dropped one of the girls off at a friend's house, went grocery shopping, and now I'm relaxing with some ice cream. I registered to take the placement test for the community college, printed the financial aid sheet and filled it out, printed out a list of all the classes I need to take, and submitted my admissions application online. Once everything is files and in place I should be able to start classes on June 25th.
