Good morning coffee

Taking my MIL to get her blood tests today--then she has some errands she wants to run. after that, I promised my sister I would drop by to see if she needed anything.
I remember after my surgeries, it was nice to see someone from "the outside" once in awhile--so I am trying to go see her occasionally, plus do things for her if I can.

Only 14 days 14 hours and 8 minutes left until SPRING !!!--ya gotta love it !!

It is great that it was an easy, quick trip for you, Cindy. I hope it was also good news. Or at least better news.
I took my son to school and stopped at a grocery store on my way home. Before I pick my kid up I need to stop at another store that is not open early. And I have food to drop at the community center food bank too. Trying to combine my trips so as to save on fuel. I'll have to fill my tank again today or tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it.

Good morning. Glad everyone is safe from the weather. Cindy, glad you're appointment was quick and easy. I have a bunch of things to unload and put away today and I'm procrastinating because I know it won't take too long.

I hear you on that one...gas is just barely under $6 a gallon here.

Doing a few home repairs today...anyone have a trick to removing leftover residue from silicone??

Not trying to rub it in at all to those of you in the snow, but wow, it is gorgeous here today. I am grateful, so grateful, because we are walking/busing/biking it these days. Both cars have become unreliable and the $5/gallon gas is unaffordable as well. We are on our way out to run (or walk) some errands in the neighborhood. It will be fun carrying 30lbs of dog food! We do have busses, but the system here is not efficient like in some areas. To beg downtown from my home, it takes about 1.5-2 hours on several busses and a train. It's only a 15 minute drive. I certainly need the exercise, though, so off we go soon.

I have no buses nearby. I think the closest is about 5 miles away and only runs every 2 hours or so. I live in the boondocks. There are too many other benefits to living here to move in closer to town, though.
I also have awesome weather again. But it is to drop about 25 degrees tonight and for the next few days. I am getting ready to get my errands completed before picking up my son from school.

Also today, I am working on my volunteer duties. We have a great program through the SPCA that offers free spay/neuter for pit bulls and pit bull mixes every month. I help with the scheduling every couple months. It's a lot of work but very rewarding. I used to help walk dogs at the shelter every weekend, but I haven't been able to do that for a while. I miss it.

Hello all,
I haven't been around a lot to post but do try to read... I have been researching gluten free receipes and meals to help Carrie and make sure I have stuff I can feed Nicoli too... tomorrow we are having a meal prep day for the next week for her... she is going to go all gluten free for her family... to hard to make different stuff for one when there are 5 more to feed to and to keep stuff separate too... I am doing a pot roast today in my crock pot for dinner for us and the little boys... she has to work late and so does Jon so it's us for homework and dinner... LOL!
It's almost 70* right now- I keep looking at the calender to make sure it is March... got my doors open even though it is windy.. nice to air out the house...
Well off to get ready for the boy invasion... got half hour to get ready!
Nana

Tina, 20 miles to anything from my house and that excludes school for Ashley. I take her every day and come back home. I usually do all my shopping while I'm there. It's a really small town but I can pretty much get what I need there.

Worked outside all day, was super nice and I'm sporting a light sun burn and some chapped lips. And well worth it lol, still just cleaning up but I am so ready to toss some seeds on the ground.

Good morning all, still snowing here. Honestly it snows every single day..even if it's just a few inches. March cannot get over soon enough for me.

Thinking my husband has pneumonia,I have never seen him so sick and he won't stay home from work or go to the doctor. Think I am going to have to have a 'talk' with him tonight. I don't lose my temper often with him but it's time. madd

I have been so busy helping my sis-in-law(she had surgery)..today is a 'catch up' day here.

Off to upload a pic to show y'all.

kissie Sometimes it helps to get it all out, this post is so great, I have never heard anything but compassion and empathy....

I haven't posted for about a week! Been hectic with my sis here recouping from her surgery, but she is home now and things should get back to "normal". Now if I can just figure out what normal is! why

SS, Bill, that you are getting more snow. I know no one wants to hear it, but we are having a very mild winter and we expect the harsh ones! Yes we did get the storm back last week, but we are not having a cold winter. I think it has only gotten below zero once, and that was only about -7. We have had none of our -20 stuff...maybe it'll skip that stuff this year! In winters past it is not uncommon for us to go at least a week when it does not get above zero. I hope all are well here and no one was affected by the tornados of recent days, it breaks my heart to hear of all the loss of life. tears
Happy Tuesday one and all! flwr

I'm Irish....where's my cookies? why

I'm determined to get out of this tornado funk I'm in...but it's so hard when you hear more and more terrible stories everyday. Today they found a 74 year old woman dead...she was inside her closet where she had gone during the tornado warning, and had a heart attack...her part of the county wasn't even hit.

Cindy, I tend to listen most to the survivor stories. The good things that happen in disasters. Neighbors helping neighbors. Quiet heroes. People who are fostering pets until owners can be found. Families reunited. Etc.
There are gems in amongst the ashes. They remind me how wonderful people can be.

I bet they do, Sunny. I also hope both heal quickly and well.
Good morning. I am ready for hump day. My fire burned down in the night. I do wish I had checked on my older son's job of banking it before I went to bed last night. I trusted him to get it done. I've got it burning brightly again. It just takes time to spread the warmth around.

Good Morning!!

Tina, sorry that happened, but when/if it does, remember this...
there are people (mainly me) that would take your bad wood heat days in a heatbeat. teach Still it makes me remember & smile when I hear you talk of yours, so please do not stop.

So glad you got your DH to the DR., Sunny. I hope he and your SIL heal quickly. Sorry you are so busy, but I am glad you are there to lend a hand---

I am soon off to my Sister's house. Her DH has errands to run today.
