I just woke up freezing to death! It's cold and raining, and since the repair guy took the heat pump apart to find the AC problem now I don't have heat. I told him since it was so hot that there was no sense putting it back together til the part came in....stupid me.
Guess I need to run down to the farm and get an electric heater for tonight.

Drove to Hawk Creek to get the heater and about 10 minutes after I got home the sun came out and it warmed up. This weather is insane.

The heater is still in the truck...I don't even need it now. But, at least I have it in case I do need it.

Yes, you certainly have your share of problems. Oh, to be 50 years old again would be so wonderful. That's when I used to climb trees and do fun stuff! bop

One of our dogs is like this. If you leave anything where she can get to it on the counter, she'll very quietly jump up and snag it. If it's in a bowl, she'll grab onto the bowl with her teeth and quietly sneak outside to eat it. If she can't quite reach it, she'll use her paw to pull it toward her. And after 11 years, we still haven't learned to always keep stuff away from her. She actually ate 1/2 of my daughters unfrosted birthday cake that was cooling on the counter while I was moving laundry. Rascal!

well I didnt climb trees back in the day, but I certainly could do what I wanted to do---so yes 50 would work---about the arthritis, I didn't mean to complain I was just sayin' that not everything was peachy here either---although if this were a race i think you would be winning,...hands down.... why

I think the truck is a good place for the heater--if ya need it,- it's there & if not, well it is all ready to go back from wence it came----- thumbup

G'nite everyone--sweet dreams--

wow you guys------I guess I am lucky----my dog (Dante) wil not eat anyhing off of your plate--or the table---he may get his nose within 2 inches of the food, or sit & grin at you (that is is begging face) but he will not eat anything he is not allowed to eat. and I did not teach him this, he came to us a puppy & already knew that he could not eat off of peoples plates or tables/counters---

oh my, he puts me in the mind of my grandpuppy "Thor"--his is a very large Siberian Huskey,----he pretty much does as he pleases (due to his size--about 70-80 pounds).

Today I am taking my MIL shopping after she gets her monthly blood test. They are saying there will be a High of 90 + today----April 2nd you say ??? touched

Good morning all, still 'spring cleaning' here. The frost is so heavy this a.m.that it looks like snow on everything. I have big patches of bare ground now where the snow has all melted.....first time ever this early.

I chuckled over the hair ball comment lol

Good morning. It is cooler here than in much of the rest of the country. But I am also not looking forward to the summer heat. Then next year may just be an El Nino year as well. Lots of work in that for me.
My pup has only ever stolen chocolate things off my table a few times in his 12 years. I have to cool brownies way up high here. It seems he cannot resist.

Morning ,
Well we lost our warmth... dropped 40* it is supposed to rain and snow tonit, won't stay but it is April... so totally expected... sure helps them finish up getting the fire out- they are almost done with it now... letting the evac people go home - at least the ones that have homes to go to.. so sad... they think they found the missing woman too... she is a fatality along with older couple they found earlier... so sad... at least the added humidity is helping ... it's snowing in the mts now so it's on its way to us... we may get up to 5 inches they say... getting windy too- hope the fence sections stay up this time... will be fixed soon... have to see just how much it will cost- Joe says whole back section facing street has to be replaced... at least we have plenty of help for it...

The boys are out of school again today.. so when they call I will go get them... hope it's not raining by then, sure looks like it could right now.. wind is howling too.. think my daffys will be gone by tomorrow..

Well better get busy and get ready to be invaded... bet they will want breakfast when they get here and hot choc... no shorts today!
Nana

Transporting some nice warm pancakes and hot choc to those who would like it... thats what boys decided on... I am thawing out some stew for dinner tonight for us.. it is so cold and feels colder cause we were so warm for the last couple weeks... got spoiled, it's cloudy and looks like it could rain or snow any minute so far it hasn't at my house yet...
Had to laugh at your various pets getting into food on counters.. when we had our Shadow- he was a Keeshound... he would sit and "watch" a plate of food even if left on the floor but wouldn't touch it... and he knew he was't allowed in the kitchen when we were eating... he would lay in the doorway front paws on edge of tile .. inching fwd if he didn't think I was watching but if I said Shadow he would back up back to edge of tile.... he was so funny... he came to us trained that way... we didn't do it... he loved our ticking wall clock too - we could sit it on the floor and he would sit and watch it for an hour.. had a second hand and it moved ... he loved it.
Well off to make another snack for the bottomless pits... I swear they have hollow legs and feet....

Nana...Bill's 'Shadow' is so well mannered, too. You could set a plate of food down and he waits til you tell him to eat it...and if you gave him a treat he took it from your hand so gently. I miss him so much. I sometimes wonder if he still remembers me.....

Of course Bill's Shadow remembers you- dogs have good memories of people who treat them well. I miss out Shadow too- he was so good to our oldest grands when they were babies.. they could craw all over him , yank his hair out and he would just sit there and let them- no one not family ever got close to one of them either... he would growl at a stranger to keep them back and since he looked like a wolf they did... he wouldn't hurt anyone unless they were going to hurt one of us... he was a good guard dog... he saved Carrie once from a dog that got out from the house across the street from us.. it was a Golden Retriever but it was just mean... she had gotten out of a friends car in front of our house and it chased her up on the roof of the car to get away from it... he jumped our 6 ft block fence and chased that dog back to it's own yard and sat in front of the gate till someone came out and locked it so the dog couldn't get out again... he was her hero forever after that... it was so sad when we had to have him put to sleep ,,, bout killed us... he developed diabetes and it killed his kidneys before we knew he was sick... haven't had the heart to get another dog since........ but I have a statue of a kees that looks just like him so he is always remembered by us.... maybe someday we will get another dog but probably not till we retire....
Well it's time to go to bed I think it's late and it's rainy and cold now..... supposed to snow at least a couple inches by morning... and yesterday it was 85* .... my poor body is in revolt...

Good morning. I have to get up too early. Or conversely, I need to go to bed earlier.
But I am up at least.

I'll be able to get some Restaril when I go back to my headshrinker soon.
The worst thing about last night was I had no internet and had to play Solitare on the computer over and over and over. Turned my old computer on to try to get some music off it and that stupid flashlight just keeps shining around in there, looking for files....sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't.

You and Bill are always up too early...I see you both on here and it's early for me and then remember you guys are 3 hours behind!

I am a morning person. My problem is sharing my house with a couple of not-so-much-morning adult kids. I have been pushing my night time envelope. But I do love having them here.

They do remember, for sure. There are a couple great you tube videos floating around right now where soldiers returning from overseas are greeted by their dog. The dogs just go berserk with joy, jumping around like crazy. Nana, I'm sorry you lost your dog. Sounds like he was loved and had a good, happy life.

Whewwwwww Today was interesting for sure!!!!! Tornado's surrounding us, Throwing around 18 wheelers, houses, and such.
Jimmy and I are fine,, tho we both know a co-worker whose house got damaged, From what I saw on TV it may have been totally destroyed not sure yet Cell phone lines still crack'lin for some carriers.
What made me really nervous was I was at work in one city while the boys were in three different schools in another city boohoo nervous And Tornado's were everywhere and turning unpredictably in another direction. I got some hail damage on my car,, But that's nothing in comparison.

Had my candles lit for all of you in Tx, my nephew lives in McKinny so had one for him too... scary times... glad a little hail damage is all you had Diane.. and that Jimmy is okay too... watched the video of the tornados there- that is just to much for me----- wind scares me.

I had a quiet day today- which was good.. my fibro just about floored me today... abrupt weather changes just do me in for a day or two... hopefully it will warm up tomorrow and I will be less achy and sore- have boys so really need to be able to move some... we had a little snow today.. only a inch or so that stuck to the grass.. roads got wet but it was still to warm for it to stick... good thing is the fires are out and it gave us all some much needed moisture... don't think my daffodils will make it but they were pretty while it lasted... my crabapple is blooming and the lilac as leafed out... so hope it doesn't freeze tonit..
Well I am off to bed now- taking motrin all day just wears me out even though I didn't do much.... good evening all
Nana

I hear ya Sherri I should have known we were going to have bad weather,, I woke up with a terrible headache and my shoulders and neck ached ,, seems like every time we have storms I get terrible headaches and neck pain right before that,, You would think I would remember that, but I don't, UNTIL it starts raining and storming. Barimetric pressure maybe? My hands hurt so bad this morning it was hard to work at the job n grinding acrylic,, then,,, it started raining and tornadoes,, Yep I'm inclined to believe most of my pain comes from the weather, out side of the arthritis in my hands why

Morning all,
Slept in today... which was nice.... sun is out and snow is rapidly melting away... going to have boys later today so nice to feel some better... Diane I do think it is the barometer changes that get to me... especially quick ones ... and cold and damp ... really hate being cold...

Oh Sunny so sorry little one and mom is sick, stomach bugs are no fun for anyone- keeping fingers crossed that bug stays away from our houses...

Well it's late and almost lunch time but since I slept in need to get some breakfast in me.... and may even make some coffee- hadn't been drinking any lately but sounds good this morn... have a good day all....

Having one of the worst days I've ever had. Home from work, going to take a nap.

Cheryl...so sorry you had such a bad day... kissie

I saw the videos and news on the tornadoes in Texas and it amazes me that nobody was killed. So much damage, though.....

Bad days are tough, Cheryl. I hope the next ones are much better.
I took a nap this afternoon. It was nice to have the house to myself for awhile.

Hi all, it is good to be back home. Was gone an extra day or two. Wow, what my sis has been going through. So we didn't get out of Rapid City until 2:30, it takes so long to get all that darn paper work done. So we got to Casper about 7:30. The trip was reallly rough on her and the last 50 miles on the interstate I pushed the needle on my speedometer way past legal. Everything was not peaches and cream when we got there, but she is all settled in now. She had her first full day of physical therapy today and did ok. We are concerned with her red blood cell count...it was down to 7.1 (it should be between 12-16) Tues am and the decision was made to give her 2 units of blood. The count was only up to 8.1 today, but they are just going to wait for a couple of days, which means she has to leave the IV line in, which causes her a lot of pain. But better than looking for another vein uhuhh She had to go through 3 sticks before they got a good vein. I'm relaxing for a few before I was going to go to bed, but I'm not going to last very long...I keep yawning so hard I have to quit typing till my yawn is done!! lol

Again, I am so grateful to God for my health. Things aren't perfect, but compared to others, I am doing pretty good. Gotta work a little extra hard over the next several days to get caught up, so I think I'll go in and say hi to my bed snooz
