Good morning.

Yes Bobbie, I go every year...I had a tumour in my bowels and I have Lymphocitic Colitis. I must say though...it's the best sleep I ever had, those drugs knock me out completely.

Sounds like everyone is keeping busy. How's the school plans going Cheryl??

Now I want fruit salad lol I'll meet Tina on our way to your house.

Sunny, school plans are currently in limbo. I have to hear anything regarding financial aid and I can't turn in my tax return info until the IRS amends my return. I'll get there eventually.

Good morning... lots of scraping, sanding and painting in the plans today. No matter what I try...the paint just will not stick right to our foundation.

oh my really ?/ I am so sorry to hear that Sunny--I hope you find something that works for you. I was going to defrost my freezer today since the weather is cooler, but I cannot--the drain tube in in the back of the freezer & I cannot get to it---that'll teach me to stay in bed (not) when my DH gets up for work---

Doctor appointments since 8:30 this morning til 2:30...then fell asleep in the chair. Gotta get out of here early for an appointment in Lexington. Sometimes I feel like it just isn't even worth it anymore.

Cindy, I understand how tiring and discouraging it can be. Hang in there.
Sunny, I made a swing for my middle daughter that I loved. I'd hang her from a tree while I was gardening and the dog would keep her moving. Happiness for all.

Well I think if I were going to a "real" ceramics class it would be too expensive for me as well. anymore it is just a meeting place for 5 or 6 of us. I would say I spend well under $50.00 every 6 months---and a large portion of that $$ is on gifts I would have had to buy anyway.---Plus there are days when I dont get much accomplished but to visit.
This time is to help me preserve my sanity...

Drive safe, I don't like to cut up fish at anytime uhuhh

The swing sounds fun, sunflowers. When I was a kid, in IL, we had a tire swing from a tree. I remember it being loads of fun.....no trees big enough here for a swing! And no grandkids around to play on them tears

My DH had his colonospy yesterday along with an upper scope...and as we thought he has a lot of problems with his esophoges (I am sure that is not spelled right) So the Doc put him on medication and we are hoping that will heal some of the ulcers he has. My DH hates taking medicaion of any kind, but I think the doctor finally convinced him he has to do something or it is just goin g to get worse!

Just a normal work day for me Happy day to all flwr

Good morning. I would not want to cut up anything before my coffee. Fish would rarely be a first choice anyway. Safe travels, Cindy.

Morning all, another trip to Rapid City today to see my friendly dermotoligist. I'm hoping she doesn't find any more that she needs to cut on uhuhh we are cloudy today, maybe it'll rain here too! We are so dry that I can not complain if it rains. I worked on my oldest flower bed...back when I really knew nothing, I had scattered wild flower seeds. Over the years most of the flowers quit coming back. But I had one...a wild holyhock that came back. It was a beautiful bush with very small violet colored holyhocks. The only problem is, it is VERY invasive. Every year it just kept spreading and spreading and it has seemed almost impossible to get rid of. Last year I dug and yanked and pulled and pulled and this year it came back (any one ever heard the song "But the cat came back the very next day"?) So I got the latex gloves out and got as many leaves with a weed killer and it was very, very droopy. So yesterday we dug some more, DH even helped! This year I am not going to give up, every time one of those things pop up I am going to paint the leaves with weed killer! tapfoot

That is the way to get rid of them, Bobbi.
Good morning. My last child has his last day of school today. He has about 4 more years to go in his school though. So it isn't such a sad day.

I didn't know Hollyhocks grew wild. Mind you every plant or flower grows wild someplace I am sure.

Good luck at the dermatologist..

Tina, does Teddy like having the summer off?

Teddy has a week and a half off and then summer session begins. That is the full month of June. He will have all of July off. I guess that is his summer. School will probably begin in early August. He can continue until age 22. But from now on it is optional.
Ted likes school. He also likes home. He is kind of good with whatever is going on as long as whatever it is does not last a long time. He likes to come home to recharge in his routines.

I guess just enjoy the time he is at home with you, Tina. Time goes by so quickly.

The wild holyhock is more like a bush, which grows to be about 6 ft tall every summer. The flowers are about the size of a thumbnail. I do like the bush, but it sends out suckers all the time and the roots are very ropy, then the suckers start sending out suckers....and the vicious cycle goes on and on! My digging is going to create quite an empty spot in my garden. I think for this summer I am going to plant cosmos and 4 o'clocks, as I don't want to go with a preennial as I may have to do more digging why

Got 32 burns yesterday and was feeling pretty lousy last night. I feel better today, but the back of that left hand, the one I just got cut, got 4 burns, and one blister is really bad boohoo But blisters are better than getting cut nervous

Good Morning, Kim and welcome back. I don't remember, but then I haven't been around that long myself!

I remember you, Kim.
Good morning. It has been a busy one for me.
Bobbi, Ted is my youngest of 5 children. He is 18 and has down syndrome. Mentally he is hovering around age 5, higher in some areas and lower in others. But on average about 5.
My kids are a wide age range, with the first 3 born in my 20's and the last 2 in my 40's. (I guess I took my 30's off.) Ted's future is pretty secure and will stay with me until I die. Then my older kids will take over. He is a sweetie and pretty helpful. They are looking forward to it.

I know I have been gone for over a year, I missed this place, but you know how it is you get in a rutt and well, this morning, Gardeners BB was staring at me from the top of my book marks row, and Well here I am. So much catching up to do, I will just get to reading, I have been busy the past few weeks digging up stuff I do not like and transplanting and moving things. Almost done. HAve lots of questions but will go hunt for the appropriate place to ask. :)

Good Morning,
The sun is out for the moment, but we have a 70% chance of rain today and tomorrow, so I don't think the sun is going to last! My hands are better today, but when I get "burned" like this I can't imagine what it is like for burn victims, those that have burns all over their body.. I didn't hardly get anything done yesterday, after just a few minutes my hands got to hurting and I gave up the chore. So even though I'm in pain at the moment, I am grateful for my relativly healthy body. Have a great Friday all flwr

I am wondering how you got burns, Bobbi?
I hate getting even a small burn. They take away all your brain power with the throbbing.
Good morning. Today is cool and a good time to turn on my oven for something. Ribs, I think.

And just imagine I pay to have this done!! My dermatologist. She "freezes" with liquid nitrogen, and it causes burns. This past Wed was by far the worst, 32 burns. I have one on the back of my left had the size of a 50 cent piece. Most are smaller than a dime, but had so many on my face it just kind of blended all together. I keep telling myself this is a better way to get rid of the skin cancer than cutting. But right now I'm just not feelin'it! cry It is still not as bad a malady as some.

I hate getting even a small burn.

teach This has nothing to do with this topic, but once upon a time.... ya know how when you are lighting a furnace or gas water heater, and it fails to light the first time, and they tell you "If burner fails to ignite, wait at least 5 minutes before trying to light it again"?

Believe them! Trust me! It WILL EXPLODE! I had third degree burns all over my face and chest. It hurts for a very, very long, long, long, long, lonnnng time!

Maybe that is why I am sooooo afraid of fire....

BTW.... Have you all checked your smoke alarms lately? tapfoot

I just bought new ones! I do need to purchase one more CO2 alarm though. Heating with wood.....
My furnace does not stay lit. I have not lit it since I watched my husband lose his eyebrows and burn his arms once. He got a pretty bad burn but we slathered it with aloe vera and he was amazed how quickly it went away.
As I haven't used the heater for the last 3 years or more, I think I'm going to rip it out and just have another cabinet in my kitchen.
