LOL yea probably you should have---then on the other hand, given the wonderful place you live, I am thinking that is to be expected. And I for one am glad for you that it is so nice there...

96*F now(1 pm)...although the thermometer on the shed says 102*F zoink--& expected to get hotter yet this afternoon....NO rain in sight---

It is only about 89 in the sun right now. Humidity is at 17%. Very liveable.
Busy day is done for me. I can relax for the weekend.
I am not going anywhere tomorrow anyway. The Mayhem concert has come to the amphitheater up the road and I would be blocked in and out with nasty traffic. I know when to stay put. I am just glad they don't do as many concerts as they did when it was owned by blockbuster.

89 sounds wonderful... thumbup
Was just watching the news...said London, Ky has never been this hot before...not even in July or August...this is our highest temperature ever. Gee...can't wait til tomorrow when it's supposed to be hotter. boohoo

I just hope these idiots around here (neighbors) don't start with the fireworks this week-end like they usually do...I can't even remember the last time we had rain...everything here is brown...the trees are even turning brown and losing their leaves. Prime conditions for fires.

Hi all,
It's only 95* here today ... getting a little cloudy right now but the weather people said they don't carry rain .. just thunder and lightning- just what we need! We had good news my grandson found out his Dad's house is okay... not how okay, they are still evac but standing anyway... fire got really close but spared their house... fire there is only 15% contained and they said it may be another 3 weeks before it is over for them . Jon's aunt lives across town so they were okay... and Daniel his bros was helping with the evac and shelter people are in ... he is in the Army and they are all helping- Air Force too.

I just looked on the boys school website and school starts here the 20th of August..registration is the 1st... seems earlier every yr... crazy.seems like summer break gets shorter every yr..

Well have to go and make a run to pharmacy for my scrip , may pick up something for dinner too... we have been grilling outside a lot with the heat but getting tired of that too... have a good evening all....
Nana

Fireworks are illegal here. But I often hear or see some being used on the Fourth. It ticks me off. They are legal down inside some town limits so they are sold.
Still watching your fires, Nana, and praying.

Me too. I run ccleaner every time I boot up. That is several times a day. When I had issues with my phone line and they were looking into my computer, they ran scans too. Said it was about the cleanest computer she had ever seen. I told her it was my phone line. Not my modem or computer.

I had accidentally clicked on the title of the post of the spammer (in an email notification) instead of the link to the post....and it wrecked havoc on my computer. First spammer I have ever had that had that kind of malware right in the topic title.

Middle of the night walk-through. My kids came back from their Mayhem concert and no one took a house key with them. So I had to get up to let them in.

I have been monitoring a stray dog in my house...with Spartacus....and a Lola......it is too hot outside so I let the dog inside 4 days ago...he is doing great...has not pooped or peed in the house. I let him out at 3am to go to the bathroom. Spartacus would like to kill him, though...... cat

Sparta would like to kill him just 'cause? Or is the dog harassing him?
Ted and I went out into the wide world. A trip for gas, and a quicky car wash drive through. And we went to Target and Michael's. We drove through both a taco place and McD's before heading home. A good day but I was up in the night for a few hours and I will nap soon.

Just 'cause. The dog is behind the couch or chair at all times unless he wants to go out...I even have his water dish behind the couch. Spartacus is just being an [BLEEP]...because he can. Doggie would much rather be in here sleeping in the cool (right beside where the air-conditioner vent is) behind the couch than outside in the heat.

PS...I need to name this dog. I've been calling him "Brown" (uhh...because he is brown) but I can't bear to get rid of him now, and he needs a name that suits him. I broke down a few days ago (before I let him in the house) and went to the vet clinic and got Capstar (flea pills) for him, and Frontline. I put a "give away" notice on the bulletin board while I was there, but called them yesterday and told them to please take it down. blush

He hasn't bothered her because he stays behind the couch or chair, but today when I took a nap she was on the arm of the chair and he was laying right beside the chair, and he didn't even act like he noticed her.
I thought he belonged to someone in the apartments nearby, but I walked down there and asked and and they said he was a stray...he's been around for awhile now. I bought a brush and you wouldn't believe the hair I got off him...2 grocery bags full in 2 days...and I'm still not finished. He actually turned a different color when I got all the dead hair off him...he's more of a reddish color now. Maybe I should call him "Rusty".

Bruno might be a good name...he's a smallish dog...that namemight give him some self-esteem...lol He seems pretty low-key. I have no idea how old he is, but he's got some years on him.

We had a Border Collie named "Bruno" he was a fine dog----wonderful dog---that is a grand name. Any dog would be proud to have that name I am sure--and I know he is a lucky dog that you gave him such a wonderful home.

home from the funnel cakes / fireworks display---it was grand !!!!

I think everyone has had a dog named "Bruno" except me.

I think it is going to rain....I even looked on the weather channel site and it looks like it's heading this way. Lots of wind right now. I hope it rains.....everyone is losing the stuff in their gardens here because it's been so dry for so long.

fireworks display---it was grand !!!!

I haven't seen fireworks since I was at Bill's.
I wonder if he still has his 4th of July fireworks...?
The good neighbors would walk up and watch with us...one lady was super old...I remember I gave her a t-shirt, she was pretty cool.

I am not a fireworks fan. They are fun to watch but over too quickly. And I do not like the loud ones. But living in such a dry fire zone is the clincher for me.

I was never a big fan of fireworks before I went to Bill's.
We kinda were a little intoxicated by the time it got dark enough for fireworks...well, speaking for myself rather. notme
