G'morning---I sure wish I was able to eat green tomatoes.. fried of course---I have so many green tomatoes---I bet they all get red at once-- rolz

Cindy, I hope you get to feeling better today--I am thinking that this weather is not helping any, huh ??

well no rain last night like they promised---so I was out watering & deadheading this AM. Finally getting my coffee.

This afternoon I will sit in the AC & work on my embroidered quilt. last night I took multi-colored thread & did a butterfly--it turned out kinda different.

The butterfly was supposed to be 3 shades of yellow, I thought this was more fun!!! It is the type of thread that changes colors about every 6 inches.

The back of this is going to be a green fleece that has wild animals on it. shewinks

Bobbie:
Baby is due September 9th---but my DD is hoping for an early delivery. She has to go to work for one week (she will teach school) so that she can take her maturnity leave--she is hoping that she will not have to do that being 9 months PG--but we shall see..

I so admire you that you can make quilts---that would be such a wonderful gift to recieve.

Barb: thanks so much---and yes the quilt came with thread---and with directions on how to use what colors where---but In a few places I have used my own thread---
plus I have about 8 needles threaded with different colors---so I change but often have the thread with a needle at the ready. grin
I am working on it a lot, every day----I want to have this done before the baby comes.

"they" say the baby is a boy.. why

Good morning, the quilt is beautiful Carol.

I love making quilted baby blankets also..my next project is learning how to crochet though..the plan is to learn by Christmas which means I probably should have started last year haha

Spent 10 hrs doing yard work yesterday, nice to see some dry weather..another full day ahead of fix-ups and such.

Good morning. I slept in very late for me. But the sleep was good.

I took a half hour lesson from a friend and took off from there. I was crocheting patterns that she wouldn't touch within a couple months. A good pattern will describe the stitches needed and as long as you know the acronyms it goes pretty well. So a book on beginning crochet will give you a very good start.
But I cannot knit for beans. I also rarely crochet much any more. Arthritis sucks.

I'm a slow knitter Tina..by the time I finished a sweater for my DD it was too small for her lol
I see some nice tutorials on youtube, hoping it helps..I already picked up two hooks and some yarn at the dollar store. If I can catch on it'll be a cheap hobby..yarn is the one thing here that sells for little or nothing.

Taking a break from the outdoors, had to make a batch of bread...waiting for it to rise then off to stain another step.

Found some potato bugs this morning....the early morning picking begins.

Yes, youtube is good. It wasn't available when I was learning in the early 70's. And I tend to forget about it. Begin with something simple, Sunny. I crocheted a mess of ribbed ski caps to start. Got into the habit and went on from there.

be careful..that's where spiders like to hide nervous

Good morning, sun is shining and calling for our third and final dry day. I got my steps all stained. Feels good to scratch things off that chore list.

The garden is enjoying the sun also..my bean pods have grown twice as much in just two days.

More chores to catch up on today...grand baby comes tomorrow.

Good morning.
Yes, spiders and such is part of what I am working on. I spray for those first and let that settle before working in those corners. Then vacuum the webs I see. But I am not particularly afraid of spiders. I just prefer they do no crawl on me.
I just really need to get on top of the junk we have collected over the years. So a lot of sorting, tossing and things are going on.
Don't work too hard, Sunny. Save some energy for keeping up with your grandbaby.

Very pretty, Bill!
I made an early morning Walmart run and picked up plastic storage bins. A dozen of them in assorted sizes. I've already filled half of them with things I have sorted through already. I will need to buy more soon. I have filled half a large dumpster with things I've tossed. I have found homes for useable things that I do not want. I have a little more breathing space here and what is around will be easier to keep clean. I'll call it a good day and I'm not finished.

Great pics Bill thumbup

I love those storage containers Tina...I need to get some more for here. Don't work to hard.

Ended up making a grocery run since my mother needed to go as well...good gosh the prices get higher at each visit. $6 for 5 pounds of fresh potatoes~they have lost their mind.

Weird that it's 4:30am and I couldn't sleep because of thinking about all my "stuff" that is packed up (has been for 5 years) and needing to sort through it...and I get on here and see this post. Supposed to have a friend go to the storage place with me today and try to go through it....it's been in storage so long I have forgotten what is in all those boxes. Might be like Christmas....might be like a good day at the dump.

Wondering if that big deer in Bill's picture is the same one I met when I was there.

I am so sorry, Bobbi. She has had more than her fair share.
Cindy, both John and I are collectors. If something was still useful, we took it in, sort of. Friends would give us things because they knew that. Not hoarders with only pathways left to walk through but still not good.
John died 3 years ago plus. I have been trying to get rid of things to other people who may be able to use it. Mostly so my kids do not have as much mess when I die.
We have two 25 ft trailers for our storage plus a variety of sheds. I emptied Johns trailer and then gave it away. It had 2 new Honda engines in it still in the boxes plus broken tools and a bunch of other such things. I gave the trailer away for someone else' hoarding.
I reorganized the camping shed and cleaned it up. I gave away several tents and sleeping bags to homeless people and still have enough for my family and a few other people in case of emergency.
I rebuilt the floor of our household goods shed because it was crumbling. And tossed a lot of junk that was in it. But everyone needs a place to store things off season. And a place to lock up bicycles, etc.
I have begun reorganizing the tool shed several times. Mostly so I could find what I needed when I needed it.
I have 2 more sheds I have not mentioned.
I am just now doing most of the in-the-house things. Although I've been getting rid of things right along. Who needs 4 CB radios with antennas collecting dust? I took away 3 working TV's and a couple of broken ones to a waste disposal place. I still have six left.
Too much junk. But a lot less now.

It's raining here a little, too! Yipppeeee!!!!! clap

Bobbie...I hate hearing that about your sister. It seems like I have heard of so many women being diagnosed with breast cancer lately.

Well...I didn't do anything today, as usual. All talk, no action.

I hear ya Cindy----seems that is all I do too--I either am going for myself or I am takling my MIL--- why

Staying home is sometimes good---I just wish I had the energy to clean some when I am here---

WOW Tina, sounds like you have been busy. When we moved, I got rid of a lot--but this house is still full--and unless this economy turns around soon, I will be cleaning out & moving again...

I don't know how far you have to drive to your appointments, but mine are always about 2 hours away...but yesterday when I went I had a friend volunteer to go with me and the time passed much easier.

I don't do anything much anymore unless it HAS to be done. I feel like I am turning into a slug...I used to be so energetic and never slowed down...never would have thunk I would be in this shape at my young age.

(Spell-check is not underlining the word "thunk"....so it must really be a WORD!!!) shock

First we need to talk about Spell check---I don't have it here--I just have it when I am using "Word" or sending an e-mail.

well my "far" Drs appointments are 1 hour away--and I always have someone with me then---well really someone is talking ME-- I dont drive on 4 lane roads-
The one DR I go to is the same one that my MIL goes to so that is an easy job---I have our blood tests set up to be the same day--which saves me some.

My MIL is going either say 30 to 45 minutes away to her various Drs. They are easy done so I do those by myself

I vote "thunk" is a word..
