Teenagers. They just don't want to do things the right way. So lazy!

Me: "You need to fix your scooter." (Referring to way she parked it)
Ash: "Why, it's not in the way."
Me: "That's not how you're supposed to park and you know better."
Ash: "You don't have to be rude. I'll move it but it's not in the way, just saying."

I only had one teen with the attitude. She ran away for a lovely 7 weeks and came back to a dying father. She turned into a near perfect angel immediately. But it is not a remedy I would recommend to anyone.
PS. She still has issues keeping her room clean.

It's really just the one kid and overall she's great but she has her moments and is stubborn. She's the most negative, she's the most resistant to doing chores, she's the most lazy about doing things right, and she has the most attitude about it. The world is against her and none of it is her fault. I just needed a place to vent. I'll go back to my hidey hole.

It is OK to vent here, Cheryl. You need an outlet sometimes too. We all do.
I have had a long day. I am ready to couch up for the night. Sweet dreams all.

I have to add to the topic..kids now are spoiled. We didn't have to worry about picking up our things because we had nothing to pick up lol

Vent away Cheryl...sometimes it saves your sanity kissie

We had patchy frost this morning...you can smell the Fall weather in the air, so fresh and clean. grin I love it.

You are very right. When my kids came home and dropped their bikes on the lawn or something, I hid them and let them think they were stolen for a while. It helped.
I have done nothing much to speak of. I finally wrestled Ted's iPad away from him and added a bunch of books and learning games on there for him. He caught me and ran off with it. That is about it for this morning.

Thanks, everyone. I've mostly hidden it pretty well but I've struggling lately and sometimes little things seem so much bigger than they really are. Still coming to terms with my "disease" and the stigma that goes with it. Also, still trying to get meds just right which is a slow process. Thanks for letting me vent.

Also, I've been randomly applying for jobs/submitting my resume and sent my resume to one today. I got an email back almost immediately and have an interview set up for next Saturday. I know that I will most likely turn down the job if offered to me, but it's nice to know someone is interested.

A possible new job is awesome, Cheryl. I know you are not always happy with some that you work with.
My mother worked 30 years federal civil service in a bunch of jobs from mechanic during the the Korean conflict. And up to secret work with films and then ended in contracts. She typed up a small resume and sent it to one place. They hired her for double or more what she was making just jumping the fence and working contract for a private company. She retired from the government work and began work. She was pretty happy with it, and the money. All with a HS education plus a few night school courses.
I got started cleaning up another dirty, over-crowded corner in my house today. I ache too much to pat myself on the back.

(still?).

Still. I took everything I had today for colds/allergies.
The left side of my head feels like it is going to explode.
Rachel and Brennan are the same way...they have both gone to the doctor, Brennan got a little better after a steroid shot...Rachel is still miserable.

I love this little kitty, but she is so hyper. (as all kittens are)
I sure didn't need her, but now I can't get rid of her.
Guess I need to come up with a real name for her...been calling her "abacat" all day...a play on the old 1981 'Genesis' album (Abacab).

Yes, much like that. With his faithful sidekick, Sparta.
Good morning. Happy Labor Day to all. I have no major plans for this holiday. It is back to school tomorrow. I'll be washing bedding and such. I may dig into a new corner of the house to see what I can sort/clean/toss. But i am running out of corners. Isn't that wonderful?

A week doesn't sound like it would work well, Cindy. I've been really working on mine for a couple of months. It is much less 'hoarder' here. I have donated, tossed and gifted a bunch of lovely stuff that I no longer want to dust. I have purchased over a dozen bins to store more stuff.
Some of the things I have gifted were still in the box like security cameras and driveway alerts. I have sent 3 CB radios across the country. I still have two here. I have given away a couple 18v drills. I have 2 left and a couple plug in ones plus one for the air compressor. John raided his tools before he died and gave away most of his chainsaws, big air compressor, 2 types of welding equipment, etc. I can almost turn around in both of the tool sheds. Life is getting a little easier to breath in.
My efforts have taken me such a long time because I don't kill myself getting things done. I work within my energy levels. I refuse to stop and trip down memory lane when I find objects or pictures that bring up happy thoughts. I can get those out of the well marked bins and do it another time.
I am getting close to the end of this journey. But there is much to do here still. I need to see about getting my roof repaired where I sprung a leak last year. And then there is wall painting to be done. A house is a never ending chore. But it is not an unhappy responsibility. I own it free and clear.

Help is very useful. I've had my older son here to take a bunch of this new-in-the-box unwanted stuff off my hands and to his friends. And also with some heavy moving, etc. My impetus was a home inspection imminent. I have not invited friends in for a long time.
If I went to Cindy's I would need to hear all of the stories involved with each item before I got it washed, wrapped and tucked away. This would probably take us a year or so.

Glad you are getting caught up Tina..and be careful Cindy, you are only 150 cats away lol

Sentimentality makes for a hoarder in no time...my mom is part way there. Maybe that's why I am so scared of clutter and disorganization touched

Off to help with field work...gee, some days I wish I was a working woman haha

That's a big problem I have...if I see a box that is clearly Rachel's newborn baby clothes, I want to go through the box and remember everything about those clothes, etc.

Everything I own has a story...you'd be here for about 3 years...lol

I have so much stuff...and most of it is worth quite a bit of money...antiques and collectibles. If I could get some serious help from someone (Rachel) who isn't sentimentally attached to everything I could make a boatload of money and get the storage units cleaned out. I still have stuff in storage that was put there when I moved to Bill's...that's a lot of money if you add all those years up paying a storage bill every month. Rachel is not sentimentally attached to things. I have a bunch of boxes in the basement...when she and Brennan were here a few months ago we went down there and found boxes of things she collected growing up... one thing was old porcelain bells shaped like women in old dresses. The collection has to be worth some money, but she didn't want it...said to give it away. why I need to be more like her...but too old to change at this late date in my life. When I die she will just throw it all away. She has even told me "Mommy, please sell all this stuff so I don't have to feel bad about getting rid of it when you die."

yes same here--My oldest DD is sedimental--but her DH is not, esp when it is her family, so she will not be allowed to keep stuff when I die----and My youngest is just like Rachel--so all of my stuff will go I am sure--but that is for them to worry about.

While I do like a clean house, I also like keeping things for "just in case" LOL
so I really do not know waht to tell you.... why

Tell Rachel she needs to help you sell it. I just checked out a site through FB that is a selling/buying site without the crowding of Ebay. It is called yardsellr. It costs nothing to list there and only the buyer pays a small fee. Not sure what that small fee is. I haven't bought.
I worked well today. I am marking time until I can get Ted into bed. Good night all.

I'm going to try to sleep...have early appointment at one doctor then my 'blood-letting' at the cancer center after that. I will check out that page on Facebook...had never thought about anything like that being on there.

Nighty night

Good morning. Happy Tuesday. I need to keep saying that in order to remember what day it is. I find Monday holidays hard on my orientation.
Ted and I are ready for the short school week. No more days off for us until the end of November. That is a long stretch.
