My dad was getting the money, but during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Blockade there was no mail allowed onto or off the ships surrounding Cuba, so he couldn't send it to us. My dad was only supposed to be gone for a few weeks on the mission, but all hell broke loose and they were gone for many, MANY months.

Yes...it was all fun and games to us kids...like a big camp out/slumber party. I imagine a lot of stress was going on with our moms that we were oblivious to.

No, they shouldn't have allowed it. I remember my mom trying to get the Navy to help us out (Navy relief Fund), and they did nothing.

I am going to try to sleep....I have sleeping pills tonight...thank God.

I am so wired up from not sleeping and stress that right after dark when I heard a knock at he door I answered it with a .38 Smith and Wesson in my hand....and it was my nice neighbor with a pizza for me to heat up for tomorrow. I apologized for the gun and she said said she didn't have a problem with that, and was glad I was on my toes..(she doesn't realize I have weird toes).

Sweet dreams, Cindy. Weird toes and all. I never did nap today. I realized as I laid there that I needed to dust again. So I got up and did that.

Good morning. I will say the dust in this room did not keep me awake for over a week. It really didn't keep me awake at all. Just the threat of an inspection sometime in the future could keep me awake. I do feel the need to stay on top of some of it now that I got a handle on it. Today will be a different room. And also some outdoor work for sprinkler repairs. It is to be slightly cooler today.

Cindy I'm glad you have neighbors looking out for you and make sure you eat, kissie
It's raining this morning,, no wonder I had a sinus headache this morning and yesterday evening. Seems the older I get when it is going to rain I get a sinus headache why But I am grateful for the rain for sure! I'll deal with the headache in trade for rain thumbup
My car alternator has been out for a week,, Jimmy has been taking me to work kissie all last week,, I'm so grateful for Jimmy He would drive from Irving to Arlington, to Bedford back to Arlington to go to work, then we decided to save gas and he would pick me up I'd take him to work then I go on to Bedford Tx and pick him up after work, What a great guy he is I don't know of anyone else that would do that.
Now Breyton's dad is working on my car in the rain, Poor fella he already has a cold boohoo I don't know what I would do without these two guys,, angel angel

A lazy Sunday here. A little dusting, a little laundry. Clean bedding all around. And a nice long nap. Old movies on TV in the background for all of it. Ted is in the bath right now. And leftover chicken and mac and veggies for dinner. A good day all around.
Outdoors it is water, water, water. 24/7.

my alternator was only putting out 30 it should have been putting out 70 and my battery was leaking, I was told because of the heat of the summer. I was also told if a battery is going to give out it would probably be at the end of a very hot summer,, besides the fact it was almost 3 years old. you should take your car to auto zone or some where they would test your alternator for free,, at least then you'd know if your alternator was going out. So your battery wouldn't be straining so hard to stay charged even tho it's new.

Nighty night...I'm going to try again to sleep.
I'm sick, and so cold...shivering.
Going to have to get more blankets or turn the heat on.

G'morning--or not...I have been up for 15 minutes. rolz

and that is not normal for me---

Cindy, I hope you feel better today--if it was the flu shot that is doing this to you, it should be short lived. and then you will be protected from any horrible flus that might be going around later---
I still have my cold, but I think the water faucet nose may have stopped, so I am improving. Now to get some more sleep. prayers
