Rachel and Brennan and Jeremy were here yesterday. I cried so bad when they left. I know that makes Rachel feel bad when I cry like that, but I can't help it. Seems to get harder and harder every time they leave. tears

I am glad you got to visit with your family, Cindy. I know it doesn't happen often enough. And you miss your Brennan adventures.
I have decided that today is bookwork and housekeeping day. It will be triple digits outside and it just doesn't sound like fun to work in it. I need to defrost something for dinner still. I am having a hard time motivating. Dinner doesn't sound appetizing at 8:30 in the morning.

There is a cure for that---If they are planning on staying where they live now, you could consider buying a house by them....would that be closer to your Drs anyway ???

The only picture of Brennan I keep with me is on the keychain he gave me several years ago...and I really wanted to show an ex-neighbor (from 20 years ago) a picture of him when I saw her at the insurance office the other day. (last time she saw Rachel she was 16 years old.)

As bad as I miss them I couldn't stand living up there. She lives 5 miles from Cincinnati....not a place for me and my critters.

Good morning !!! (where's the coffee???)

Sherri--so sorry to hear of the strike possibility--I will be hoping all goes well for you
you know it gets to me---companines want to pay the worker less, & give less benefits to boot---Then we all go o ut to buy goods & such & we end up paying more for everything we buy & our bills keep going up. Somethign has got to give...

Rod's old job--closed the whole plant when they could not break the union (so as to pay their workers less all around) and moved it to where they could pay half the wages and Lord only knows about the benefits.
The place he works now---gives minute raises if any, but then really ups the cost of the insurance & the deductables--Poor boy just got a raise & was all happy until I told him we were making way less a payday anyway.

This has got to end. (*climbs down from soapbox*)

I am off to spend the day taking my MIL to town--everyone have a nice day!!!

I got my kid to school. And I am relaxing while my ground beef browns. I found it on sale and bought a bunch. Also found bacon for $2 a pound and swooped while the swooping was good. But I am running out of freezer space. I had to take my ice blocks (for coolers and such) out of there.
I am going to go chop onions and peppers for seasoning that ground beef in a bit. Then figure out sauces to pack it in. Today some will be served with mushrooms and cream and noodles. Home made hamburger helper. Steamed brocoflower on the side. I had a banana and a plum for breakfast. Off to chop those veggies.

Wooo I am feeling the yrs today- chasing a 2 yr old really takes it out of me now... out of practice I guess... to tired to think of dinner so may just heat up the enchiladas I made and froze before I left town....

I agree with your take on companys taking away benefits and then expecting you to work for less to boot... they have backed down on the expecting the workers to take a vacation day on the first day of being ill... the vote today was 88% of members voting for a strike so hopefully they got the message we won't be pushed to far... can't afford it ... if the ceo's and cfo's an all the other highly compensated people took a big pay cut it would sure help the workers but I know that won't help...

oh well... off the soap box... it's cold tonit ... supposed to be down to the 40's , then 85 tomorrow and may snow by Thurs... gotta love fall in the Rockies... trees are sure pretty though...

I wish Joe & his co-workers all the best.

I was beat today as well---all I did was take my MIL to the bank & then go to a book store. Then after lunch we went to wal-mart---it was all I could do to get to the car---& drive home---and this after 8-1/2 hours sleep-- why

I took a decent nap today but I am sleepy as well. It was 109* down in town today. I am glad to have a/c in my car even if it stuffs me up. As soon as I can get Teddy to go to bed I will sleep.

Good morning all, cool and beautiful out...the leaves are changing overnight it seems.

Good luck Sherri, I know what it's like with the job cuts here...DH has been bouncing around between garages all Summer, they permanently closed his workplace a few weeks ago.

Full day of chores today..preserving and wood piling. Have a good one all. wavy

Icky day...but it was nice outside, if I had BEEN outside.
Had to wait forever at the hospital to get the ultrasound. I hate that gook they put on you...then expect you to wipe it off with ONE dry washcloth. I finally took my gown off and cleaned myself up with that the best I could.

I had rough night too, Carol. My dog must have eaten something a little off. We were in and out for hours so he could eat grass and then empty his gut. I don't let him out at night off-leash because he chases the night time critters.
This morning I stopped and bought some pepto pills for him. I didn't have any left.
I have sweet and sour meatballs heating in the crock pot for dinner. I will cook rice and some veggies in the rice cooker later. Keeping it easy today. I want a nap. Soon I will.

Looks like we all had a rough night. I tossed and turned so much my hair got so tangled up I like to never got it brushed out this morning.

My cousin called earlier and left a message saying she had left a message for me on Facebook...I guess because I won't answer my phone.
So...I made the mistake of going to Facebook while in a very bad mood...and went totally off on the Amish. I need to stay off facebook, since it's not censored...TGH is safe because I know if I say bad things here I will be censored and/or poofed....so I am on my best behavior here. lol blush

I napped very well, this afternoon. I still think I should sleep well tonight too. My dog seems happier tonight so he shouldn't be bugging me.

Ah, I kind of skip those puppy mill posts because it makes me sad. All I can really do about it is to not contribute to them and vote against them where I am able. There is a special place in hell for some people.

Good Morning !! breakfast

well, I slept like 9 hours---I wish I felt better---
Today I start clearing out the house---so next week I can clean (last minute works best here)--there is a chance that we will host my grandson's christening luncheon in 2 weeks.

Then tonight I have a "31" party to go to. The neighbor lady has begin selling that line---& so I am obligated to go. I am hopeful I can buy a Christmas gift.

I have chicken & rice in the slow cooker today--so I don't have to stop to cook--ya gotta love those things. (slow cookers)

I love my slow cookers. Plural because I have 3. But I have plenty of food leftover to eat for today. It is just Teddy and I. We are in for the day and I am planning a nap.

Afternoon all,
I have my chicken cooking in my roaster... had Derek today for a little while... he is having a whole lot of problems at school... anxiety and very emotional.. Carrie and Jon are taking him to a child psychologist starting next week to get the the bottom of the reasons... testing for ADD,ADHD and autisim too.. since thats in the family and he has some of the signs of being a high functioning Autistic of maybe Aspergers kid...school is cooperating so far with letting him go part time and doing most of his school work at home or with me... he went for half an hour yesterday and 3 hours today... he is getting better at handeling it, the school pschologist stays with him most of the time and they know the signs to look for now that he is getting overwhelmed... this has been a lot of stress on all of us .... Carrie and Jon are turning a very small room into his room this weekend.. anyone got ideas of how to create storage for him send them my way... hopefully his bed will fit . this room was a laundry room before they bought the house and isn't very big at all... doesn't have a window but will give him space that he can control away from his very messy brother .. Derek is naturally very neat so thats a big stressor for him... Nicoli is a slob... won't help keep stuff picked up and Derek will stay up at night to clean in the dark...at least this will be his own to keep the way he wants and he can share the downstairs bath with Joseph...
If we don't go out on stike == big IF there... I will help them get a platform bed with storage in it for him... hopefully we can find one that will fit..
Well off to finish up my bathroom cleaning... and fold some laundry.. dinner will be ready and will have 15 or so meals for the freezer too... we are eating out of the pantry and freezer the rest of this month except for fresh stuff...

I am sorry, Nana. I hope they can come up with a good diagnosis and a plan for Derek. It is great for him that you are close enough and able to help him out. Not everyone has family close enough to help. A room of his own may help. You only need 6 ft for a bed. Even if you cannot swing a door all the way open it can work.

Good morning. I am very happy to see Friday. I am also glad I topped up my tank yesterday because the gas around here has jumped drastically. I will be sticking close to home this weekend. And maybe for a long time depending on fuel costs.

Good Morning .....
I was up early- haven't done much - we have white stuff on our deck and lawns... not a lot but it is there and won't be ignored... starts with an s.... , not ready for it yet! Sun is supposed to come out and get rid of it but guess it wants us to know it will be here in earnest in a short time...
Had to turn on heater yesterday too... it is cold! High is 48* today- 2 days ago it was 82*..... I went out yesterday and cut my roses- figured they wouldn't last another night with the freeze.. they are really pretty on my table right now.

I am working on getting my office cleaned up... it has been the junk room again... want to be able to stick the pac and play in there for when I watch the baby at my house... need to go thru old toys too and find a basketful for her to play with... know I have blocks and lots of cars down there...LOL! good thing she plays with boys most of the time she likes boy toys..Well it's my goal for today anyway... that and getting chicken in bags and in freezer... will have boys this afternoon.. have leftover spaghetti for them so they will be happy.

Have a good day all... I see the sun...Yay!

Good afternoon all, feeling your pain on the gas here also..jumped to $6.40 a gallon here yesterday.

Nana, we have a child with Aspergers in the family, that kid is a genius. Just doesn't do well with crowds and sharing space with others as well, hope the new room works out. You can get plans online to make those storage beds quite cheaply..is Joe a good handyman?

They are getting some snow just West of us..you can feel it in the air. Brrr...

Have a good day all, you have me craving for a crock pot meal now lol
