It is cooler here too, but everything is relative. We are wearing sweatshirts and not running the coolers. I got Teddy to school with the heater on in my van and stopped at the store for things I will need over the weekend. I don't want to go out again and use up gas. I lined up oven projects for myself and am itching to begin. But I need more time than I have right now to really make a start. After I bring Ted home from school or over the weekend will be soon enough.

Well, I feel lucky indeed....gas had only gone up 4 cents today--last week it was down to $3.65--it was $3.69 today--- Still cost a fortune to fill the car....

Gas went up 19 cents just over night last night here. A lot of independent stations are just closing. California is moving from it's summer mix to its winter mix (emissions stuff) and we've had problems with two refineries and a pipeline. That means that gas goes up. I paid $3.99 the last few fills. Yesterday it was $4.19 to top off my tank plus a little wait in line. Today it is $4.39 up to about $6 depending and long lines at the lesser prices. That is all for regular gas, not premium.
But I've had a good day. Good news from most fronts and my neighbor brought me a hot pizza. Nap time.

I'm trying. I think I will start back on the prozac. My headshrinker doesn't know I stopped taking it a long time ago, and still writes the prescription...and I just throw the prescriptions in the trash. (Bad Cindy!)

Cindy , if it helps you ... you should take it.... my oldest is on antideppressents and has been for yrs... she needs them to be feel normal... when she first moved here and lived with us after her first husband left her and took the boys.. left her with no money and no job... she didn't have insurance and no pills left- she became suicidal... took her to my doc and he gave her the pills for free for months till she was able to get a job and get insurance of her own... it was a long time he gave them to her and did the blood work for free too to make sure she was okay with the dosages... there are good people out there... and if you need them take them...

Carrie kept calling the different docs in her network and found one willing to adjust payments so she can afford to get Derek tested on Wed... it will cost about half of what other one was going to cost so that is a good thing... less appts and more done at each appt ... and they found a bed for him to fit his new tiny room... has drawers and a flip up desk they can attach to the wall... and he managed to go to a birthday party for a friend today with no prob... so progress for him....

Well off to wait and see if hubby goes to work or pickets tomorrow- one good thing- he pickets right behind our house.... won't need a lot of gas at least...

I am glad she found a Dr willing to work with him and with her on the payments. That is awesome, Nana.

Happy Thanksgiving Sunny and yes it was good news... so far so good... just checked my email and hubby is now working on a day by day extension of the old contract... have I said how much I hate this stuff.... just makes life hard when it's like this... if it gets to bad hubby will just take his retirement and say goodby but we really don't want to do that either...

I am going to work on my house today... got to dust and vacuum- we have had the heat on for 2 days, got to dig out my humidifiors too...will have the baby tomorrow I think... if Carrie changed her days off.. she is trying to take extra time off for Derek but she never said if she kept tomorrow or not... and I forgot to ask... oh well can ask later today..

Well off to get a start on something- it's going to be oatmeal this morning for me... with blueberries.. making muffins for boys too.. blueberry and choc chip... and maybe some banana ones too.. think I have some froz bananas in freezer.. may as well run oven to help heat up my house some...

Have a good day all!
Nana

Note to self, *Use pole saw more regularly so your arms don't turn rubbery*
I am done for the day except household things that need doing. My pole saw is fun though. My older son and the kids I have hired to help me out don't like it. I love the thing. I can reach high up. I can reach low when standing on the hillside. And I can reach into the middle of thorny plants to trim without getting snagged.

Sounds good Tina : Well, MY man talked me into getting a freezer that did not self defrost--well I think to myself it is no big deal-----except when the heat causes it to frost heavily & I had to defrost in the heat we had last summer or the fact that I bet I am defrosting it very soon--& really it is not cold enough for me to do it easily yet---ah well---such is life--

nana so glad that your DD is now on the right track !! good for her !!!! Hope things continue to go well for Joe.
Cindy: take care my friend.

Sunny you and yours take it easy...

The nicest part of defrosting in summer is that it defrosts quicker. Mine was frost free. But developed cracks in the interior paneling and now it frosts up. I will get a new upright frost free next.
I am heading to bed. It is late for me. Sweet dreams all.

Thanks for the Thanksgiving well wishes kissie

No celebrating here this time though..too much to do and I wasn't paying $40 for a small turkey. lol

I love pole saws Tina, they cut so swiftly.

I have a deep freezer that is starting to build up frost..and now leaks from underneath, caused by cracks that causes condensation from the heat in here. I can see a new one in our near future..just hoping this one can last another year at least.

Good morning.
Thanksgiving does not have to be about turkey. It is a meal set aside to be thankful for the bounty we have. Any meal and any day will do. Every day will do. I have celebrated with cheap chicken which my children all prefer. When you can eat every day, life is good.
We are ready for the new school week.

Yep--any meal any day--I agree---
we have an "Italian Thanksgiving" with my extended family every year now--as Deer seasons interfere, we usually do it the saturday after Thanksgiving, but some years it has been early in November--it jsut depends on when the most people are available.

this began back when Hollie was first married & would NOT be with her mom on the actual day AND my Emily was going to be in japan visiting her then boyfriend--as he wanted to propose to her while in Japan. They did so, but one of them was sick & it was cold & rainy--poor kids.
It is very nice--then on the real day we just get together with who we wish--close family usually or sometimes just the very immediate family & celerate with whatever---I often do a whole Chicken or a turkey breast for this---

well I have alot to do today--catch everyone later--bye now
