Good morning. Good coffee, thank you, Carol.
I am weather watching and cleaning house today. Drastic weather somewhere across the nation always makes me get moving towards my own disaster preparations. I want my house reasonably clean and my stuff organized towards those ends.

Good morning. I'm in zombie mode these days...no sleep, even with the pills. Must be immune to them at this point.

Cold and rainy...watching the weather for the coast...they keep showing live reports from places I have been/lived (Nags Head, NC, Rehoboth Beach, DE...). Glad I don't live on the coast anymore. nervous

Tina, you are welcomed but hey, Sunny made the coffee, & yes it is good for sure !!

About the coast..yep I worry too. Lynne has gotten extra water & canned foods on hand for this mess. I too am glad that I do not live there.

sunny here but cold.

Today I am making pies for my churches Sausage supper. They really want fruit pies as they keep nice but they are getting Million Dollar Pies and Out of This world pies from me.

My sister tells me teh million Dollar pies are great, I like the OOTW pies & both recipes make 2 pies each---so this will be quick & easy..:)

well I will also make a pumpkin pie to keep here for us.
I don't want to make all these pies & have nothing for us after all. shewinks

Today is DH's birthday---we went out yesterday for it & I made him a nice meal yesterday as well, as today I will be busy...
See ya all later--

Good Morning,, I too am watching the weather.. seems it doesn't stay calm across the US for too long before another 'Worry' pops up.
This morning we woke to a cool crisp morning. It has put me in the baking mood.
I have sweet potatoes boiling for Sweet potato bread,( tastes like pumpkin bread), I will also make a sweet potato pie.

While I was making a dozen 100 hour candles this morning, it dawned on me that I was making a dozen molotov cocktails as well.
Just a random thought.

Tina: How does THAT work ??--

Diane--sounds yummy---if ya got some coffee, I'll be right over (well I wish I would be right over)

My MIL called me--it seems that I need to take her to town---so, I am waiting to do any baking until she calls so I can go get her. (she waited this morning until it was jsut about her lunch time to call me---)

I guess I should just give up, make her needs my priority & then fit myself in where I can---if I did that, at least I would not be put in these types of situations so often..

she is really a nice lady who had a VERY demanding pseudo-MIL so she thinks she is being good by NOT asking me to do things---then when it is the last minute, she calls in a panic for help.. But, even then she hem-haws around. And yes I have begged her to just call me & ask--& say that I do not ever mind--but it does no good. Boy, "Aunt Sophie" must have given her a real run for her money.

It is just small canning jars filled with liquid paraffin. A slit in the lid with a lamp wick threaded through. My older son was very impressed with how quickly I put them together. And we tested one and it worked beautifully.
The FB page where I got the directions said to put a second lid on for storage but the jars are not sealing as well as I would like with that method. So I'm going to come up with a plan B.
I am sorry your mother-in-law had such issues with her MIL. These things color your life, often enough.
I went out to the store for a couple of things for my older son and I am settled in now. I'm thinking a nap is edging up on me.

I never had that problem, because I never had a mother in law who liked me enough to much less talk to me at a family gathering. I was never good enough for any mother's son...lol Imagine that! haha

They REALLY didn't like me...any of them. lol
I can't imagine why....I think I am a very likable person. Well, I guess unless I am married to your only son.

I finally did the dishes...had them stacked up in the sink for days. I don't put them in the oven anymore like I used to...I guess because I didn't put them in the oven at Bill's...so I just got out of the habit of hiding them...now they get stacked up in the sink. Leslie has been eating with me the last few nights so I had all my plates and glasses dirty. Now I will wake up tomorrow with an empty sink! party

Yay! Dishes out of the way is a very good thing.
I really didn't get as much done today as I had planned this morning. But enough so I can rest well tonight.

Worse thing about that is when I finally get the counter cleaned off Spartacus likes to lay on it. I'm coughing up hair balls worse than he is.

Good grief, I lost Abacat for about 15 minutes awhile ago...I looked all over for her and couldn't find her, then I panicked...thought I had maybe closed her in the refrigerator again. nervous I ran to the fridge and opened it and she came running into the kitchen...that's what I have to put up with every time I open the refrigerator....CATS thinking they are getting fed. It's worse than the can opener. I swear, I have gone outside before to open a can of corn just so the cats wouldn't hear me opening a can.

I only have 2 cats and feel like "the crazy cat woman". cat

my MIL is taken care of, my pies are made (plus one for us here at home) dishes are washed (Cindy) and draining. AND I have had a small bowl of popcorn. and Ta-Da....My valarie has called & spoken to her daddy. Good news is the sound on the phone was loud enough that I got to hear as well. thumbup

Likely I will not be around tomorrow. I will be working at the Churches saussage supper all day--we usually get home around 7-7:30 ish.

wish me luck !!!

oh I love pie--most ANY pie---
sorry about the 2 cat thing---I have had cats & I have had dogs---but when I had 2 cats they were outside cats that were litter trained. So, when they got sick or it got too cold out, we could bring them in for awhile---I do however have several dogs in my house at one time---(I grand-puppy site quite often)

Pie is too sweet for me...but when I make pumpkin pie it has very little sugar in it.

Wouldn't be so bad with these cats if they weren't so hyper...Abacat runs up the freaking wall (I have quilts on my walls) then runs across the curtain rods and down my curtains. She needs some xanax.

Good morning. I hope Abba and Cindy got some sleep. I slept well, in between earthquakes. Little ones.
Today is my usual getting ready for the school week. It is going to be a warm day.

We have little earthquakes here, not very often. But it feels kinda funny when it happens. Not "funny" funny, but 'funny' funny...you know?

I was up and down all night...but Abacat slept like a log in the bed...even stayed there every time I got up.

It's freaking cold here.....
