Good morning, only 27 trick or treat'ers here..bad weather kept most home. Oh well, always next year. Taking the grandbaby out to a few family members houses tonight to do her treating..I told them I was waiting for calmer weather.

Remembrance Day is our next priority here..than Christmas hits in full force after the 11th.

My Christmas shopping is done in a one day three hour Walmart trip thumbup

Lots of rain every day here, but at least they took the flood warnings down.

Good morning. Roofing in the rain is not a good idea. Neither is it in high winds.
I am happy to see Friday roll around. It is chilly out. Today will be some housework and maybe baking something to help warm my house a bit.

Good Morning !! breakfast

Cold but sorta sunny here. Baking will be done here as well. I am making Rod a second Birthday cake. Rod & Valarie both like the same Birthday cake. As we didn't get to celebrate with Val & Brian, she said to bring a cake with us this weekend.
We are spending the weekend with Valarie & Brian. They are taking us with them to do some work on their new house, which is about 5 minutes from his Mom's,-about 3 hours from me.--I know I keep saying that, but it just sits wrong with me---what did I do wrong that my kids live closer to their in-laws than to me ?? Especially when over the years Valarie has pointed to the new house across the road from me & said "if that house were for sale I would be there."

I am off to do the rest of my packing & cleaning now---TTYL if I have some time. Otherwise I'll see ya all next week.
Stay warm & dry. wavy

My kid is in school and I have plenty of food to occupy us all weekend. My dishes and bathrooms are clean. The vacuum comes next.
Carol, it is fun to have your kids nearby. But it is also good to see them stretch their wings. It means you did a good job. Of course, Teddy will never leave me so I've never had a completely empty nest. I can feel for you there.

Have a great time at your daughters.

I never did get around to baking today. I may still later though. Right now I'm thinking of a nap. I am home for the day and hopefully for the weekend.
I am pleased with what I did accomplish though.

Is that the huge tree in the back that the leaves were bigger than both my feet? I have a picture somewhere of my feet beside a leaf on the ground.

Gotta find that picture.....pretty cool. Also have a video of that day it was so windy and the tree was blowing back and forth, and the leaves were flying right at the camera.

Beautiful pic...

Nice weather today...

Took the grandbaby to a Christmas craft fair. She picked out a few ornaments..that were cheap thankfully. I love $1 craft tables. The rest of the things were too expensive to even look at. We had fun though, that's what counts.

I went out and used my backpack blower on some leaves. Raised some dust but blew most of the dirt away from the house for now. A good morning.

Well, the spammer was still here while I was leaving. Decided to let them know there was a spy around.
Good morning. The projected winds are here. It is warm and going to get hot today. I did change my clocks and test my smoke alarms.
Today is my day to wash bedding and general getting ready for the school week ahead. I enjoy the routine of it all.

Hope you are feeling better Cindy.

Wow Bill, those leaves are beautiful..my neighbor was out two days ago trying to mow his. Lost cause, think it's time for him to invest in a leaf vac if he doesn't want to rake.

Glad your weather is nice Tina..we are below freezing in the mornings. The air is fresh and crisp though.

I hate turning the time back...

Good Morning. While I like the time chage for 1 day (so I get to sleep an extra hour) I hate it getting dark early as well.

I guess I am getting old & I just hate to drive a night now a days. why

Had a great time at my DD new house this weekend. It is a nice 3 acres on each side is a beautiful tree line. Lots of Oak trees that are beautiful. it is a 3 bedroom 2 full baths with a small walk in closet & a working real fireplace. The basement is the full size of the house & is finihsed as well & dry--
We did get lots of painitng done.

now on to recovery today.

My grandson has a cold-- tears Poor baby.

Well, I was griping about the time change. But before I had to leave to take Ted to school at 7 am, I got a bunch of outdoor stuff done. I love working in the mornings. Especially when it is warm enough for a t-shirt.
Good stuff. I know I will nap this afternoon though. I woke way too early.

High of 81* and windy. A fire started up the canyon a couple miles away from me. I was on my way out to shop at Home Depot before picking Teddy up from school when I saw it. I went straight to Ted's school, picked him up early and we came home. Getting home was a little hairy because they shut down the freeways. Everyone was on my side roads. But they have a handle on that fire. It is all but out with only a few acres burned. Good going. I still hear the fire fighting helicopters and planes flying over.
But I feel safe enough to nap.

I am glad I got Ted and came home when I did. Or I would just be getting here 3 hours later. They shut down the side roads. My older son got a ride up and had to walk the last couple of miles after showing his ID with my address on it to get through.
He went up to the treehouse to take a nap. I took a nap. I still hear occasional aircraft out there but it is probably just news crews now. Or someone watching for flare ups.
Because we have Santa Ana conditions (hot, dry winds), we are under a fire watch in general. Fire, county, state and federal fire departments are all on alert and deployed to likely areas.
Life is good as long as it doesn't shake too much. grin

It is one of my biggest fears too. I am snug up to dry national forest land that I am not allowed to clear. And it is drought here. Although they are talking sprinkles at the end of the week.
Today pointed out to me the things I need to gather that are quick to grab in case I need to leave, BOB the bug out bag. I was already putting one together for my daughter for Christmas. She asked for one.
I am prepared in case of earthquakes to stay in or nearby. But not really for leaving in a hurry.

Freezing here this morning, in the 20's*F. I forgot my mop outside in the pail last night, when I pulled it out this morning...the fiber strings broke off from being froze. Now I have half a mop rolz

Working on cutting out strips for grandbaby's quilt today...I really need a rotary cutter..scissors just takes forever.

Good morning.
I will accept my earthquake and fire possibilities if it means I do not have to freeze. I slept in short sleeves and no blankets last night.
That will change as we are supposed to cool down the rest of this week. I guess my nearby fire is only 40% contained. It looked like it was out when I went to bed.
I won't take Ted to school today. Not until the roads are cleared up of backed up traffic. The firefighters are still using up some of the freeway lanes and traffic is still backing up. I could probably get him there just fine. But getting him home could get tricky. I won't do that to myself or to him.
