I just love salmon Cindy Lou Oscar Faye but Johnny doesn't so I rarely cook it at home. Think of me when you're eating your dinner.

Thank you Angelblossom. I feel better this afternoon.

well you may think that is a good thing, (warmer weather) but I am thinking such radical changes in weather could make a LOT of people ill. I hope not.

Good morning, Day 11 of being sick...next year I will be in line for the flu shot thumbup

It is awful here, the sudden cold weather seems to spread it quicker.

Hoping everyone is fairing out well.

Cindy, I'm shocked! I thought you COULD do everything here!

Sunny and cold today. I like it.

Sun, I'm sorry you're so sick. I feel a little better today and I'm refusing to get sick again.

Que tenga buen dia Ya'll.

Morning ,

I joined the ranks of those with colds this last week.. had finally gotten over the stomach bug... and I got the house back to order... took down Christmas and then got the cold the boys have had... finally feel better today... so we are back to almost normal here now... have Senika this morning... we are watching Lady and the Tramp.. since it's a girl movie to the boys it's been a long time since I watched it...

Well off to fix some breakfast for us.... it's warmer today.. supposed to get to the 50's today and the rest of this week till Fri then we get cold again and it's supposed to snow... another round of cold weather.....
Have a good day all!
Nana

Add me to the list of never ending illness. Two weeks I've had this. Started as a head cold, turned into a sinus infection, then morphed into my chest and I now have a painful cough. I rarely sick but this one got me good. Kids went back to school today. I'm planning on only working a half day today.

So many people began with a cold and ended with bronchitis. I hope you get over it soon, Cheryl. I feel like smearing lambs blood on my doorway so it passes over me.
Busy day but it is done. Except for dinner and nightly ritual things.

I'm so thankful I feel a little better today.

I got an email from dodge and she can't access the forum. Any ideas?

I was thinking about her absence earlier, then I thought I saw her on here....
I don't know why she has so many problems accessing the forum. It almost has to be an issue with her ISP (imho) because it seems to be an isolated issue.
Please don't quit trying, Dodge, because we miss you every time you are gone!

Several people have died from the flu in Washington this year. I am not allowed to get the flu virus, but I'm not allowed to get flu shots anymore, either. kilroy

So who are these Drs. who think that you are going to run around trying to get the flu or that I plan on falling on purpose... touched Never mind thinking that forbidding us to do these things will help any... rolz

Actual influenza virus is something that most people only once or twice in their life. It's a respiratory virus. I'm not having respiratory symptoms, which is good because I have asthma. I know this isn't the flu. Just a nasty virus on top of a sinus infection resulting from the last virus. I haven't been this sick since before I went gluten free, which was many years ago. Based on the small odds of getting influenza, coupled with the fact that the shot, in my opinion, is little more than a craps shoot, I don't get flu shots. Some people tell me I'm awful and endanger the elderly I work with. The reality is that I'm more likely to get sick from them. That and I rarely get sick and its usually very minor. I know when to stay home. There's a nasty cold bug that has been going around. Not just at work, other friends of mine who rarely got sick got hit with this too. Along with my fellow sick friends here. I get defensive about the flu shot because I've been berated and verbally attacked for my opinion on the shot. Sorry to get all soap boxy. I'm also a total space head right now and that's with Tylenol. I do believe that people with weak or compromised immune systems should definitely get a shot. Unless, of course, if they're allergic to eggs.

We went to the neurosurgeon the day John died. We were told he had a bad bone spur in his neck that could cause paralysis if he even turned his head wrong. But surgery, with his other conditions, was not an option for him. He was told not to fall or bump his head. A couple hours later he fell and got a concussion. One of the last things he said was he bumped his head and wasn't paralyzed. It was pretty funny that he was so proud of that.
I am not a fan of the flu shots either. It is not the shots themselves but all of the other things they use to preserve them that bother me. Heavy metals and such.
Sweet dreams all.

Good morning, weather is crisp and cold..thankfully I get to stay indoors.

Feeling a bit better, aching bones have passed but I feel like someone kicked my chest. My lungs ache. My doctor is out as well sick. Wonder if she got the flu shot? lol

In all seriousness though, this flu is spreading fast...and we heard that the Norwalk virus is in the area also. Scary stuff for the sick, elderly and children.

Got my DH to pick up a can of that Lysol spray as well.....today is de-germifying day here. Either I kick this flu virus or get stoned off the spray can fumes in the process haha

That Norwalk/norovirus is really getting around. I am washing hands like crazy and using disinfectant wipes all over the place. I take them with me from the car to the cart in the grocery. And then use another after unloading my bags into the car.
Everyone keep safe and duck!

She hadn't read my case file yet.....I told her she really should...
so...until she sees all the demons in my closet I don't know what she will think of me.

On a side note...I just wrote "dumbass" in the Hostess Lounge and it didn't show up as a [BLEEP]...so I think we can say dumbass here on the forum. So, I recommend we use it whenever possible.
(And, no, I didn't call Bill a dumbass in the Hostess Lounge....)

I work really hard at not using any language at all. My excuse is Teddy and his not speaking. I don't want him to pick up one of those words and begin to spout it out in every situation. But mostly it just makes me uncomfortable. Having a dog named Black Butt is even not the most comfortable thing to me.
This afternoon I am taking Ted to the dentist. We will see how that goes. He keeps my life interesting.

Just got home from a neurologist appointment. They called me back in about 15 minutes...then I sat there in the exam room for an HOUR. And I could hear the neurologist talking to a drug rep in the other room. It was not the neurologist I always see...he was out of town so I had to see his partner. Never again!

I am with you Cindy- hate being put back in those little rooms and having to listen to them talking next door- doc appts are supposed to be private and if I can hear them they can hear me too... don't like that much...

I have 2 boys today and Senika... she is nappng . Nicoli is sick with tummy problems... he just isn't doing well at all , no matter what he eats he hurts.. carrie has a doc appt for him today... Timothy went to school this morning by himself... Derek is watching tv upstairs quietly,,, he is so good with Senny- she loves him so much ,, he had to put her down for her nap- she didn't want me to do it at all..

The flu bug and the norwalk like virus going around here is getting scary.. hospitals are filling up with people with one or both... glad I got my flu shot earlier in the yr... this last cold bug just about did me in for a couple days..have one good day then feel like crap the next...
hopefully I will feel good tomorrow too ... today's not so bad.. so hopefully the trend is broken now..

Well off to see if I can get Nicoli in the shower.. hopefully doc has some idea of what can be wrong with him.. the not eating glueten didn't help - carrie thinks he could have an ulcer - do 7 yr olds get ulcers?

This afternoon I am taking Ted to the dentist. We will see how that goes. He keeps my life interesting.

I feel the same Tina, but I wrote the word C#R#A#P# last week and it bleeped me.
I thought that was a bit excessive, considering that is not a curse word. why

I hope the doctor found a fix for Nicoli, Nana. Yes, kids can get ulcers. There are also other food groups that can cause tummy issues. Maybe try no dairy for a bit? How long was he gluten free?
Ted had a good dental visit. Well, as good as he gets without being knocked out. They are scheduling anesthesia/surgery for him in a month or so.
And I missed my nap so I am exhausted. I will go to bed as early as I can convince Teddy to go to.
