It's Sunday---and Sunday night is Pizza night !!! We usually do Pizza Night on Tuesdays as Domino's has a "Two Times Tuesday" deal where I end up getting 2 pizza's for $20 vs one for $20 lol...

We went to this Mexican place here in Lincoln City, OR; quite possibly some of the most disgusting food that I've ever eaten... I don't see how someone could screw up enchiladas, gorditas, soft tacos, even Spanish rice and refried beans lol...

Tonight it is baked chicken thighs (my favorite part) and home made tater wedges and fruit salad. I don't use my oven in the hot months and I am feeling them creeping up on me.

Steaks on the grill! Yum. My neighbor was showing me her new calf today. She has 4 cows that her sons show. All I could think of was; I wonder if cattle thieving is still a hanging offense...?

Since I have been in the chair off and on all day (trying to SLEEP!) I just had a late supper. Opened a can of salmon, dumped it in a plate, and shared it with Spartacus and Abacat.

I need the Omega 3 in oily fish for my heart. BUT I now take a omega suppliment, but really to eat the fish would be extra good---I like it in patties best. I used to buy the wild cutlets, but I can't get past the skin--(yuck)

I should eat more fish. I just don't want to take the time to prepare it. My dinners have been simple things lately. Lots of leftovers and previously frozen foods cooked up.

Your killin me! My favorite meal ever!! Corned Beef and Cabbage, and of course carrots and potatos. Dont forget the horseradish, right? Maybe you can tell me why, when I made my own horseradish a couple of yrs. ago, it wasnt hot. Not even warm. No bite. Making it nearly put me in the hospital tho... I can't seem to find a good hot horseradish here.

I think the salt from the brine that the corned beef was marinated might have had a hand in cutting out the bite from the horseradish... I was out of potatoes so no potatoes this time, but I ate like a king... Which was good, I finally have my appetite back lol... And yes, one of my favorite meals; we had some last Thursday at a potluck and I decided that i was going to just follow my recipe since theirs didn't quite pass the mustard... Though roasting vs slow cooker I'll usually lean to the slow cooker...

I boil mine, and we only have it for Christmas supper. Too expensive for our pockets. I have a Venison cookbook that has a recipe to "corn" venison the same way you would a beef brisket. The only thing is, a lot of the flavor comes from the fat of the beef, and their is no fat on the deer. Might try it sometime tho.

I haven't really given much thought to it tonight; Trey goes off to his mom's in about half an hour so usually on these nights I end up either going out with my mom or just snacking throughout the night...

YES they were yummy---she is a good baker--
at least one night a week, I have a "meatless" meal---protien but not meat---and I count chef salads even thought I usually put diced up ham in them.
and thanks about Rod.

I came home from work and Tre had started cooking the meat for taco's tonight, Breyton was cutting the lettuce, and Julian was eating the shredded cheese Looks like we are having tacos! Nice to have older kids prepping foods for dinner so I don't have to!

Normally I'd have added a can of cream of mushroom soup to it, ends up with a rich gravy, but somehow we're out lol... It's a huge staple around here, lots and lots of mushrooms hidden in food so Trey doesn't notice lol

I do this but instead of the gravy mix and water I just dump a can of Golden Mushroom soup on top of it. Awesome tender and rich gravy! I have the same crock pot I had when Rachel was 2 years old...so it's 35 years old now.

now they say bbq causes cancer If you listen long enough everything causes cancer.. tonight we had meatballs with rice & petite pieces of green pepper in them. They were cooked in tomato sauce blended with chicken stock. I served them with mashed potatoes. Rod had Orange cake w/ orange icing for dessert.

I remember back in the 70's when they said that potatoes cause cancer. I decided to not listen to them any more. I had left over chicken thighs and a salad today. Lots of fruit around to snack on for desserts.

Last night I made that cabbage, noodle, bacon recipe I keep seeing on Facebook. I wasn't too impressed...it tasted like cabbage, noodles and bacon. I wonder what I was expecting? Ribeye? lol

I took the boys to Applebees tonight, I got the 4oz sirloin with potatoes and a quarter head of lettuce with Green Goddess dressing and crumbled bacon on it. I haven't seen Green Goddess dressing in for ever, since I was a kid. I'm going to have to look for it in the grocery store.

Shut up!!!! I have been craving a steak so bad!!! I have nobody to go out and eat with now...(Leslie has a new boyfriend and has abandoned me). It's cheaper and easier to buy a steak in a restaurant than to do all the fixing yourself....with the salad and baked potato. Then the clean up and dishes.

Cindy, does anyone deliver at the restaurants there ??? That could work for you. Not to mention perhaps you could make 2 meals out of one order that way & enjoy it twice.... and a bit of advice--Tell Leslie that she can spare you one night---That or SHE can deliver you a meal before her date one night--- If that does not work for her, invite her out to LUNCH on the weekend----surely she can spare you 2 hours or so. I still like the delivery idea best though. I think we are having tuna helper here tonight----I need to stop eating packaged foods, but as I have several of these on hand, I need to get rid of them & then not buy them again.

I think Cindy lives a bit from town, it would be nice when her family visits to call her first and ask what she needs or wants so they can bring it when they come over. OR when she has to go out to call a restaurant and order it so all she has to do is run in to get it and not have to wait.

Why not Cindy JUST get a boyfriend? That would be a winner?
