kissie I felt the same a few weeks ago...take your time, we will still be here when you feel better.

The heat has hit us, it's in the 90's already. Not much compared to what you all have but we are absolutely not used to it.

Hi All,

Got my ribs in the crock pot- taters cooked and eggs cooking... Joe will grill corn when he gets home and ribs are done...

I just got a call from my granddaughter Heather and they sent her home.. meds worked to stop her labor so she is home on bedrest and a lot happier... prayers worked.... ! Thank you all!

It's warm here today too...but there are a lot of big fluffy clouds too so we may get a bit of a thunder storm ... we could use the rain- just no more lightening - seems to set something on fire every time it happens we are so dry..

Well off to make my sauce... Have a wonderful 4th everyone!

Nana

Thanks, this morning was not much better, if any, but now thois afternoon, with the help of Tylenol, I feel a lot better---I can get up & down just about all by myself---I guess I just strained something.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July-----It is low-key here----no kids or any family really---But Rod & I are grilling just for us--so that is nice !! Trying grilling chopped potatoes with garlic-salt, parsley & pepper on them, just to see how we like it...OH--and Pork Steak to go with. I will do some mixed veggies in the Microwave to go with.

Sounds Yummy Carol. I like to put zucchini ,onions, yellow squash with butter, salt and pepper wrapped in foil and put on top of the grill. I've also done New red potatoes quartered, with green beans, and bacon bits with butter , sea salt and pepper wrapped in foil, placed on grill 15 minutes then turn over for 15 more minutes, comes out tender and very good!
Hopefully all you did was strain something, and each day you'll feel better.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes-----about that previous post---I tried to edit it but no matter how I tried to repost my change--it would not go thru----so I apologize...I will try again.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes---either I just strained something that or one of the anchors that hold my mesh down popped lose--either way I feel a lot better tonight-- IF this improvement keeps up I will be as good as new in a few days...so YAY !!!

Sherri: I am glad that your granddaughter is home & that they were able to stop the labor. each day she can wait is all the better. Your meal sounds wonderful...I hope you all had a great time.

Cheryl--I echo what Sunny said. Take care of you and remember that we are here when you can come or when you ned a friend.

Sunny : WOW the 90's---that IS hot !! I hate that weather. I am so glad that you are feeling better now. I hope the trend continues.

Tina: Happy Independance Day to you as well.. I hope your day was a good one.

Diane: Thanks for the recipes, I can't wait to try them. About my potatoes, I told Rod the next time, he should let me know when he thought they were about done & I would put them in foil with seasonings & butter. What I usually do is layer potatoes, onions, tomatoes & butter (with salt & pepper) in foil on the grill. we just thought to try something different than just plain baked potatoes.

I had a fairly quiet day. I did take my older son down into town and swung by McD's for Ted today. I had planned on shopping for a few perishables but ran out the will to do it. That should happen tomorrow though. Along with filling my tank. So my day is partly planned out too.

Good morning,, It was quiet around here last night.
We didn't go see fireworks displays last night because they started so late and I have to go to work today.
Several people took a vacation day today so the stronger employees will have to wear multi hats today. Well at least that will make the work day go fast being busy thumbup

Well, I did get to go see my Grandson...but I didn't get to stop to look at flowers, which is probably just as well, I can't really bend down to plant them yet anyway. I am thinking next week I will just take some time for me & go looking---

here in a few minutes, I have to varnish the board that Rod is going to add to the wall at Emily's so he can anchor the gate to it.....I think I should explain the word "Holiday" to this man.. lol

catch you all later---

John did his best building projects on his vacations. So a holiday for some does not fit all people. I hope your pain eases quickly now that it has begun, Carol.
I ran errands today. I will have more to do tomorrow. Or sometime soon, because I forgot a couple of things. But I have simple meals planned with lots of fresh fruits and veggies ahead. I ordered some of Ted's clothing for the next school year. He is so easy to dress because he is very picky. So only a few things and I can buy lots of them. I think he has about finished growing.

Tina, you always sound SO organized.

Diane, I hope your headache goes away soon---when I used to get migraines I learned this----Muscle relaxors or sudefed seems to help (but can you even take either now) and if, when you first even think you are getting one---take something then (like tylenol) That seems to be the only time asprin type meds would help me.

ah yes a vacation--I have not had one in years----to dream

If I were organized, my house would be much cleaner, well painted, etc. I'd rather garden.

Watching the coverage of the crash landing in San Francisco today. 291 passengers and 16 crew, I think. I is all jumbled. Praying for those involved.

Diane - you always make me salivate with all your menus that you post here!!!

The sub shop sounds good too - the only ones we have around here are Subway and I really dislike them - all bread and hardly any meats, etc inside - waste of $ in my opinion.

Lynne I never go to subway anymore since I discovered Firehouse subs, started by two retired firefighters. There is so much meat in it, I have to use a fork and knife. They have the best smoked Brisket sub ever ! They name their subs, after the firehouse, firetruck tools, like Hooks and ladder, engineer, etc,, cool names and loaded. They have multi sauces in bottles you can take to your table. Today they have a special going on , it smoked pulled pork with coleslaw,on Hawaiian bread. I've want to order it but I'm so picky about coleslaw, I'm going to ask to taste the coleslaw first,( they give samples of the meats and sides and sauces),, then I'll decide whether to order it or not. It's on FB too. I know they are in different parts of the US, not sure if it's in NY or not.

Sounds like a place up in Connecticut where my cousin lives and has taken me 3 times, but it's not subs - it's very delicious sandwiches and a small salad bar, but also in an old firehouse.

It's hard to find a good sandwich shop with good quality meats, cheeses, and breads. When I do I give them praise when and where I can. Word of mouth can make or break a business for sure!

Johnny used to like Subway but it seems the bread got harder and staler as the months went by so he stopped going.

I used to love Subway, until I found out that their meat arrives on location pre sliced, so it's not as fresh as it could be...

We have a good deli up the street from my place (Mo Betta Deli) that's a pretty good joint; it's owned by the bar next door so they do the food for both the bar and their own deli.

I went to work in a deli in the 70's. I have rarely indulged in lunch meat beyond ham since then. The expiration dates were like six months away on most of them. And on the deli salads as well. I would not keep things in my fridge that long.
It has been lovely weather, lately. But we are supposed to get hot again beginning tomorrow. I feel like I should have done more outdoors while the cooler was here.

Yes we are out of our "cold snap" as well. Back into the 90's this week, apparently. BUT the heat index promises to be in the tripel digits. yikes There are chances of isolated showers this week also. Only in the 70's so far today.

I have been up since around 4. egad Going to take my MIL to get her blood tests today---Good news is I feel much better.

Our highest temp this week is going to be 86 but it's supposed to rain at least 30% every day.

Did I mention I hate Japanese beetles!!!

Good morning. Hot here as well. With some humidity involved. I'll take some of your rain off your hands, Sheri.

Sheri - we have the Japanese beetles back as well and they are working hard to destroy my plants already - I also hate them! No mercy from me when I am able to knock one off and step on it!!!

We were under a severe storm warning last night - had about 5 rumbles of thunder and a handful of rain drops and that was it. It was supposed to break the heat and humidity here - nope. We will be in the high 80's all week, then climbing back up to the 90's as well. UGH.
