Japanese Beetles here as well. THEY are the reason that I do not replant my Blackberries at this house. I guess I had better go in search of some sprays---I dont want them invading my flowers..

I was going out to check to cut some eggplant for dinner but it's pouring rain again.

Juniegirl, I spray with Neem Oil which works pretty well. It's got to be the smell that runs them off.

Ted and I ran out and dodged sun rays and spent a bunch of money. I did drive through McD's for a couple of burgers for him and we are home for the day. It is not supposed to hot triple digits until tomorrow but it is plenty warm today.

I have used neem oil. It works. I am all into using diatomaceous earth these days.
Long days. I need to run to the store tomorrow and purchase the coffee that I forgot today. And then most of the rest of my day will be indoor chores. Hiding from the heat.
Sweet dreams all. I am very glad the nights cool enough to sleep well.

Hi all...been super busy and a few mornings I couldn't get on here, it was saying closed for maintenance.

I read back but I missed too much to comment on lol

Hoping everyone is well. Our heat is non stop also and we are not used to it. The rain keeps getting pushed off and for the first time in many years we have brown patches on our lawns.

On a good note, this extreme heat has kept the weevils away and my rose bushes kept their leaves for the first time in forever.

There are silver linings on a lot of clouds if you look for them, Sunny. Healthy roses are one of them for you.
Good morning. I am non-stop watering here. Today is supposed to triple digit. I should be used to it but as I age.....

I got my shopping done before the heat came on this morning. I only needed coffee that I forgot in my trip out yesterday. And a cereal my daughter added to my list. Of course I can never stop just there so about $140 later I am home and it is all put away. Chicken is in the crockpot.

I haven't bought coffee in a long time. I rarely drink coffee any more. When I was in the hospital they never served me coffee, but they gave me pain pills. Because of the pain pills I didn't get the headache I would have normally gotten with out coffee. When I got out I just stopped making coffee as much. I drink a lot of Broth instead, and Hot Tea, but not in the mornings. I just don't have a taste for it too much anymore. why

Dinner is done and put away for the most part. Ted is bathed and I shaved him for the first time in over 2 weeks. I was kind of interested to watch his beard grow. It is not a true beard yet. Just grungy. So it came off. It is very fun to be Teddy's mom.

Good morning. I have already been busy today. So far I have taken some clothes to the basement, made a cake which is currently in the oven, and the most important, I have made myself my own (small) pot of coffee.... I think after I finish cleaning this room, I am taking therest of the day off---I need to rest some yet.

Good morning....you can be busy for me Junie. I have been up for hrs and haven't the energy to do anything.

I hear you all on the increase in food prices....it is ridiculous.

Good morning. It is another hot one. But we could actually get some rain tomorrow. Rain is good but lightning, not so much. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good soaking out there.

Good Morning,
I will keep my fingers crossed for you to get a nice rain too... and then send it on over to us.... thanks!

I got a manicure and pedicure yesterday with Carrie, we had a good visit too and then went to Sams to get our cases of water and snacks to take on the trip. Then Joe and I went to Target and got the rest of stuff - surprises for boys, balls and a bat.. a new movie... lots of sunscreen.. we do have redheads.... so takes a lot ..

Today I will finish up laundry .. pack up everything except last min stuff.. hopefully that will not require any more shopping trips... Timba is traveling wih us.. we will leave about 4 hours behind Carrie and Jon, the good news is Derek saw his doc Mon evening and they talked about our plans again- and he is so ready to go now.. so happy he is ready... Carrie had to find a big bag to take all the meds in.. Jon takes meds too daily for his thyroid and blood pressure... Nicoli's tummy stuff and Derek's daily ones and the melatonin for sleeping.. Carrie is taking her shingles stuff.. seems it is re- occurring .. Timothy told me- see Nana I am the easy kid, all I need is Tylenol... he is so good about making allowances for his brothers probs and helping us do what they need... so we are going to make sure he gets his chance to do stuff he likes too... even if we have to take him alone to something..

Well off to get my crock pot going with the porkchops... have a good day all!
Nana

We're escaping the city heat (90's-100's) by going to the beach... Now in Oregon and Washington we're so far north that our beaches rarely get over 80; this weekend's forecast for Pacific City, OR is ~65... I guess I need to pack a hoodie.
