The last few weeks I've been craving jalapeno's, and have been eating them, wonder what's up with that??? Guess I'd better enjoy them now,probably in a few years my stomach won't let me eat them anymore

I have to enroll Tre a JR in highschool tomorrow am and Breyton 8th grade wed afternoon, two 1/2 days at work this week, not good for my paycheck but I gotta do what I gotta do,, hard to believe Tre will graduate next year WOW,,

Good morning all, the sun is shining and are temps have cooled off finally.

Grand daughter had a wonderful party but they sure left a mess I have doc appt. in a few then will come home to tackle the icing on the walls and cake on the floor once more.

Raining again today and tomorrow. I'm afraid we are going to wash away around here. It is supposed to be in the 80 today, but so far it is only 77. 60's tonight and hi 70's and low 80's rest of the week.

I hope the weather stays this cool, my sister is coming to visit at the end of the month and she is from Diane's neck of the woods. She says it has been in the lower 100's there in Irving/Dallas. I want it to be nice and cool for her as she is about to burn up she tells me.

I have not been able to get on here for days!!! I don't know what has been up with that! But I've been getting a lot of suggestions from a lot of people. Nothing worked, and I have still been trying all day today. But just a few minutes ago I tried one more time and here I am. This has been totally freaky.

Do any of you remember when I had my blog site at the bottom of my posts?... "Shirley's Secret Room".... I was searching for all my old blogs, I had about four or five, but they were on blogstream. The site said blogstream had gone off line. I couldn't find any of them but this one. I'd put it back at the bottom but I wouldn't ever be able to add to it so I'll just stick it in my files.

Do you all remember teasing me about my "Files" of people and stuff on here? And would accuse me of being with the CIA??

I had said something on here a few days ago about not being able to sleep well, and got some suggestions and some cautions, which I appreciated. I think I have found some help without talking to my doctor. She knows I take two extra strength Tylenol before going to bed to ease arthritis pain so I can sleep, so I was looking in the drugstore. Mine is 500 mg each tablet, I bought some extra strength that is 650mg and it has helped me sleep longer periods at a time, and I feel better when I wake up, and not groggy, which I hate. So I am happy for now.

Sunny--yep, that work will wait for you. I am lots older than you are and I am here to tell you that, yep, there is no wild hurry to do the cleaning, it "WILL" wait---

Diane: Speaking as one who knows, you need your sleep it is esp important for us. :wink:

Cheryl---Congrats on the job with benefits--Benefits are more precious than the hourly wage, to my notion.

Shirley----OMG !!! I am so very sorry that you could not get on the Forum. I am glad that you finally got on though, good for you !!!

well I am back form my vacation--and it was nice.

I have no idea where the summer has gone----here it is August already..

Mary so glad your sister gets to visit and get relief from this heat.I'm jealous she gets a lake front seat I'd love to sit out at night in the cool evening and just chat with a close loved one. Happy visiting!

Sunny I remember those 3 year old BD parties,, so cute , so much fun, but the Mess! wow, walls, floors, chairlegs and even under the table had cake and stickiness.

Carol, what did you do on your vacation? I may have missed where you said before. Hope you had a great time, but if you're like me it's good to get back home.

I'm going to go fix me some late dinner, I'm hungry! Some fried taters and onions and some fish. Maybe some sliced tomato.

Shirley,, we had fish, sliced tomatoes,too and new red potatoes w/ garlic and herb sauce over them for dinner . Great minds think alike

been so busy lately and so tired between jobs, but slowly getting things all nice looking,. I hope in time to join or do a seed swap

Hey everyone. Working a 12 hour shift today. Tomorrow after work I meet with the lady for the new job to fill out all the paperwork and get a training schedule. More changes, hopefully good ones. Had a med change too which is causing some dizziness. It'll pass though.

Sunny, the party looked adorable, but yes, they are messy at that age.

Diane, the kids are growing up so fast. The girls will be 18 on Wednesday. Crazy, huh?

Shirley: My DH & I went to Gatlinburg, TN.---We had been to Townsend, TN a few years ago, but we have never been to Gatlinburg. There is a whole "strip" of things to do there. You have to mainly walk to get around. There are trollies but Rod is not a patient man so we walked--
WE went to a huge Aquarium, The Ripley's Believe it or Not Odditorium, the Guinness Book of World Records Museum, and the Hollywood Cars Museum. Then we went to lots of Restaurants & Gift shops. We also went thru the Smokies National Forest and saw a short film at one of the Visitors centers. I really liked that. There was also a Museum of plants, flowers, stuffed birds & animals. I so wished I could jsut load it all up & bring it home--what a reference that Museum would be !!

NO pictures, well, unless you want to see some from my 30th anniversary vacation there in 2009. I do have a few of the scenery in the Smokies from then. This time I just bought post cards..I figure the photographer for them takes better photos than I could... and on the back it explains just what the photo is of---a win-win as I see it...

and no, I do not like vacations to ever end...but I do get to see my grandson on Wednesday...so there is that...

No pictures Carol?? Remember you have a grandson to start making photo albums for later in life for him to enjoy.Maybe you could put the post cards included in an album?

Yes, I always make sure to buy plenty of the Post cards. Then I put them in books just as I would photos...so they will be ready for him. Thanks for the reminder though.
