Afternoon,
I had same idea as Tina.. put a roast in crockpot with taters and carrots, celery and some onion ... smells good in here! I picked up Derek today again.. he had a good day at school , he is doing so well now... Nicoli is doing well too- he even went to school and handled a headache... he has learned it will pass and teacher lets him rest if he needs too... progress!

Poor Timba is still suffering... he is going to the specialist next week.. hopefully they will find out what is wrong- he can't go to school - he has lost weight and is so tired all he wants to do is sleep... he is just miserable,
I have Jon's blanket pinned to the first covering blanket... and the one I thought would be the second side is to small... oh well will have to go and see if I can find one the right size... Derek's psychologist wants me to make some for her patients ... don't think I could make big ones.. maybe lapsize... takes a lot of energy and they are heavy to sew..

Well off to get last load of laundry out and folded... dinner should be done now too....
Oh yes we hit 97* today... normal is 83* . latest we have ever had to run cooler ... strange weather for us for sure... they even closed some schools in Denver early because of the heat..

Nana

I would not move to Pa. I get just enough snow here. About half an inch a year, total. I'll take my few uncomfortable days in trade.
Another long day. But a good one, nonetheless.
I knew there was going to be a concert. It is hard to miss when they bring in bunches of portable parking lights and port-a-potties for the masses. They also brought in a huge ferris wheel. It is a 2 day event. So not my thing.

Been nice here for the past few days. Low 80's during the day and low 50's at night.

Have had 3 appointments this week...thought I was going to get to stay home today but had to take Spartacus to the vet at 3...didn't have a cat carrier so I had to go to Wal-Mart this morning and get a medium dog carrier for him. He is a big kitty. When I brought him into the vet I went across the waiting room where nobody else was sitting so he wouldn't be so upset, and a man came over and said "I saw that thing in there. It's a cat!" He thought I had some kind of wildcat in the dog carrier.... lol

Dodge...Spartacus doesn't pay much attention to Lola...but my other cat that I rescued a year ago is very interested. I never leave them in a room unattended.

Junie...Spartacus has to have surgery Monday. He is very mad at me right now. I tried to pet him a few minutes ago and he turned around and hissed at me like a lion. When me and the vet got done with him today and got him back in the carrier my hand was dripping blood everywhere...he had scratched me in about 8 places on the back of my hand. No big deal....he does that to me when he is playing.

No, I never get my cats declawed. I used to work at a vet clinic (I am a veterinary technician, along with my other occupations...)...it is very painful for the cat, and if the cat gets outside it can not defend itself. I know many people do it, but I would never do it to one of my kitties.

Oh, yeah! I waited til Spartacus was 10 months old to have him neutered, because it sometimes stunts the growth of a Maine Coon cat to have them neutered any sooner. I got Abby spayed when she was just 3 months old. I have even caught the stray cats here and had them spayed...2 females. They are wild, I was lucky to catch them and get it done when I did because they were both pregnant with 11 total babies that would have made 100 more babies in the next year. I didn't know they were pregnant til after I picked them up from the spay clinic. I volunteer there (phone work) and got the cats spayed for $22 each, including all shots. You can't beat THAT at Wal-Mart!!! thumbup
