Hi all,
Nana is checking in... we are all fine here so far.. Son went to work and may not be able to get home if he works till usual time so hope he leaves early again.. so far all roads are closed to his home but one- but we are to get more rain tonight so he better go early so I don't have to worry... Carrie is picking up Derek, I am picking up Nicoli- Timba stayed home- he feels crappy after drinking all that stuff for the gi test.. at this point one more day of absence is moot anyway- he is doing his school work that is online so is keeping up ..

So far today we have had no more rain today.. sun is even peeking out a little... a lot of people are stranded at home and on top of houses in some areas so rescue efforts are going on... such a mess for everyone.. phone, water and power out in a lot of areas... real good reason for people to do as Tina and keep supplies in and ready to go if you have to...

Well gotta get my supper in crock pot, and clean some... been lazy this morning watching the reports on tv...

Nana

Thank you for letting us know, Nana. The stuff on TV is terrible to watch.
And if I flooded like that most of my food and other storage would be pretty wasted. Same with a wild fire. I am mostly preparing for an earthquake of some size or other type of collapse. My reserves could serve me well in some future time.

We would be out of luck to with a flood.. but we are up high here... live at the top of a hill and closest river is about 7 miles away... course the reservoir is closer about 3 miles... we are definitely saturated - our sump pump comes on about once and hour for 5 min an shuts off again..

I have been watching the coverage too- non stop here .. feel so sorry for all those people,, the B and B we go to is right on the Thompson River , it goes right around it ,, read yesterday they put all the guests in the main house and kept them there till they could get out.. but nothing today,. it's really close to Estes Park and it's flooded ,the river goes right thru the middle of the main town there... I imagine they have lost power or internet, they are turning off power and gas lines most places... water too in some places.. it is such a mess..

My hubby works for the local phone co and they have people out trying to get temp cell towers out there but until the weather clears after tomorrow not much else can be done, about 8o people are missing - 3 confirmed dead, but they are rescuing people all over ...
they just declared 14 counties a disaster area... farmers are really going to be hurting .. fields are flooded in a lot of areas...
I know I asked you all to pray for rain earlier in the year but now we could use some nice dry weather for all these people trying to clean this mess up.

I was hoping Nana was o.k. what terrible weather everywhere.

They had a tornado a 4 hr drive from here..quite a mess. We are expecting the tail end of the hurricane tonight, heavy winds and rain.

Thanks Tina and all for concern and prayers.... my son got home today too- only took him and hour and a half he said... hoping the rain holds off for awhile or doesn't show up... we have had enough- I heard on the news today if it had been snow- it would have been the equivilant of 122 inches in some places...

I didn't get much done today- watched the news coverage- going to clean house tomorrow... it needs it badly... going to get my chicken cooked and the stew meat going too - tomorrow will be a good day to cook- whole lot cooler here..
Oh well it's late I am hitting my pillows soon... going to be an early day tomorrow and a lot to get done...

Good morning. I need to purchase a new freezer as well, Sunny. But have been putting it off, waiting for a sale that I like. Or for someone to want to be getting rid of one for some reason.

Good Morning !! I have bene up forever. I have been trying to find some pewter rope handles for my Miche Bag. The company in their infinate wisdome has stopped making them-- rolz

My DD called me--she is bringing my grandson over to "visit" while she goes on a bike ride.--and that is fine--at least she did not ask em to drive over there so she could.

I wish both you ladies good luck on the freezer buying. It is truely a chore, to decide just what to get.

Was out pretty late last night at lowes ordering our shed and getting paint and supplies for once the yard is done (elected to paint the shed myself versus paying them $200 to do it).

Ended up with a 10'x10' with a half loft that I'm going to extend myself as well.

[Linked Image]

Since I'm just under 6' and the loft starts just over 6' I pretty much can just walk around under the loft while it barely grabs at my hair lol.

I had the landscapers lay a 10x12 compacted gravel base for it last week and it'll be here sometime within the next 7-10 business days and they're going to put it together shortly thereafter; we've got a ton of stuff in the house and garage that needs to go into it asap since it's getting a little crowded lol.

It'll be a lighter blue to semi match the house but instead of having a white trim like the house it'll have a very light blue called "ghost ship" which is more of a blue/white than a blue in itself
