That will be fun, Sheri. My youngest only ever wanted a Camaro. When we went to buy her a car they had one in the lot and she fell in love instantly. I was not buying my 17 year old kid a street rod and it was already sold. But she has not forgotten it.

That brought back memories... when I was pg with my youngest . about 8 1/2 months along my car broke down and I had to borrow a BIL's Camaro... barely fit behind the wheel ..LOL! I had to drive it down town Yuma to the Western Auto.. remember those... well on the way a couple teen boys drove up beside me at a light and revved their motor.. wanting to race... I just laughed and went on and parked in the front of the store... they did too and took one look at me and came over and said they were sorry for their actions... I just laughed again and said no big deal... now Carrie is almost 36 so this was a long time ago but Tina saying her daughter wanted a Camaro made me remember this.....
I would like a new car too but probably not anytime soon ...

Good morning...I have been so busy with medical training with my new job, sad part is that I don't get paid for training...in fact I even had to pay for the course myself. Oh well, it covers a three year period.

Our frosts have been heavy, I wake up to white ground now.

My car is 12 yrs old...hoping for a 'lease return' vehicle in a few years. Those are usually the best buys since the owners are forced to look after them and they are already 4 years old when you buy them.

Good morning from me too. Yes, I was wondering too. How long is the training. Sorry you do not get paid while taking it. egad

Hoping that my sister calls & asks me to go shopping today again. I now need a gift for my DD, Valarie. she is not feeling well & does not think she is up to driving the 2-1/2 hrs up here for the shower on Sunday. She has not gotten a gift yet so since I was not happy with my gift as I figure a Aunt should spend more, I offered her my gift.

It is always something, ya know---

How did your day go, Carol? All of the gifting accomplished?
I had one of those days that it would have been better if I had stayed in bed. I felt like everything was going a little wrong. Beginning with a flat tire. But the day is done and my tire is repaired. So I can look forward to a new day tomorrow.

Hi Tina: MY day went well---I gave the first gift to my Valarie to give as her gift--then I bought a hand held clothing steamer and an oval baking dish as my gift to go with a garden flag & garden flag pole that I had bought the couple awhile ago.. AND I bought myself a new pair of capris & a new blouse... shots

Perhaps you need to just stay in bed tomorrow, Tina--you know, to make up for NOT staying in bed today--- lol

Good Morning ! Coffee here & happy about it. Today I will wrap my gifts, pay some bills, (It's payday) put up some tomatoes (I freeze mine) & then we will see what else I will do.

Tonight we are going to try to go to Sam's Club one more time--Rod has paperwork with him this time--His work was taking no chances. apparently the workers at this new Sam's are inept.

Good morning. Working the 2-10 shift today so I have the day to do whatever I want. I should go running but I'm feeling meh about that. Good luck at Sam's Club, Carol. Good morning, Tina. I've never chopped wood. Never needed to. My brother does it for us for the wood stove.

Changed my layout and now all the buttons are working and things are where they should be instead of on the bottom of the page. Now I just need to get used to the new color scheme. Maybe there's a glitch in that layout? Glad I have it all right and working now.

Glad you got your layout how you like it.
Now for the color scheme:
1) go to "My Stuff"-- click
2) choose "Preferences" -- click on this.
3) Scroll down to where is says: "Your Preferred Style Sheet"
4) click on drop down box there & begin clicking on different choices, one at the time.
5) click on the "Preview button" to the right of the drop down box after each choice.
repeat until you find the one you prefer.
6) leave your choice in view in the drop down box and then scroll down & click on the "submit" button at the bottom of the page.

you should now have your preferred color...

Good Luck !!

I have chopped wood. It was hard work but satisfying s well. I don't need to any more. I have 3 gas wood splitters to do it for me now. Once in a while, I'll chop some kindling up by hand.
I am done for the day other than dinner and such. I shopped for the weekend as there is a concert going to block my road beginning today and ending tomorrow night. I am seriously contemplating a nap.

I live on a short spur of road less than a mile long (paved). At the end of my road along a more main type road is a county park in a small valley type situation surrounded by hills. In that park they built a large structure that houses an outdoor pavilion for events like concerts. The hillside becomes the seating (and dancing and mosh pit) for thousands of people.
It was originally built by Blockbuster. Then was bought by Hyundai. Now it is owned by San Manuel Casino.
The parking for this is in different lots all around it and some are up my road.
I don't mind the revenue brought in by these things. I have been to one oldies concert there but it is so not my thing, really. The crowds, the dust, etc. I am just glad those huge speakers are directed away from my home. And events don't go on year round.
I think next month is the last event and it will close down until next spring when they do some graduation exercises. And those are no problem for traffic.
I mostly just plan on not going in or out during events.

yes it is great--in the 70's I have plenty of time to paint my deck--but it is still soaked from the rain yesterday.

I think I may have some seeds to plant though--(Bless Dodge)---I will go check that later, as I am still drinking my coffee.

I got all of my laundry finished. I have been puttering around cleaning this and that. I do like lazy weekends where I don't have to clock watch. I also love this cooler weather. I am not sure if it is even going to get to 70* today. It is supposed to be nearer 80* tomorrow. I have been weather-blessed, for sure, this year. Only a couple of weeks of sticky heat to whine my way through.
I hope everyone is doing well.

so nice you are having a slower day, Tina--it sounds nice-----It is so nice here weather wise too---So, I went out & scrubbed the front door & frame. DH said it was just dirty that he didnt think it needed painted---well, my freinds--it was dirty--but it still needs paint. I kept going & scrubbed the siding of the total front of the house (as far up as I could reach)--so while he will still have to do it when he pressure washes the rest of the siding this fall, the front will not be the job it was going to be---and no, I got no thanks--he just said don't do it, you are wasting your time, I have to pressure wash it anyway---MEN !! (sorry james)

He is down in the basement now, listening to "Heart" on the stereo--you know, so the neighbors can hear--- lol

Hi all,

Been a busy week- the rain finally stopped, even snowed in the mtns, not a lot but much better than the rain for all the towns that were damaged by the flooding..they are repairing roads as fast as they can so people can at least get to their property to have it assessed for insurance.. and safety.... so very sad for all of them..

We have been doing yard clean up and enjoying our cooler weather, hope it lasts for us for a while now.. not ready for winter to show up yet... my roses haven't gone dormant yet either.. still blooming .. but will be getting them ready for winter in the next couple weeks .. our cross the street neighbor is cutting down the aspens in the front of his house- they are dying and really close to his house... he was up on a ladder and his roof today cutting it down in pieces,,, he is very OCD and he has the branches and trunk he has cut so far all stacked up in like size piles... he also mows his front yard on a diagonal.. one week one way , next time the other way...

Joe is grilling burgers tonit for us- have some sweet corn to go with too... so need to go trim it up and get it ready for the grill... think I will bake a couple taters too...

Tomorrow I am going to the movies with my former next door neighbor- we share a birthday and both like movies.. going to go see The Butler... haven't been to movies in a long time....
Well off to wash off corn- have a good evening all!

Nana

My roses are still blooming also Nana..so strange.

Juniegirl, the worst decision we made was white siding...it needs to be cleaned here twice a year and I never even done the first one yet.

Good afternoon. Fall came in today for us. Cool, rainy, and windy compared to a nice and sunny warm day yesterday. My knee is really hurting for no good reason so I blame the weather. My ankle is twanging a bit too. Other than that just having a lazy day watching football.

OK, laundry is finished for now. Fresh sheets to sleep on tonight. And nice fluffy towels and bath mats in the bathrooms ready for our showers.
On Wednesday we are to have a planned power outage from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. I want to cook and have some food ready before that. There may not be opportunities to zap something in the microwave like my older kids are used to doing. And I won't want the fridge and freezer doors opened constantly. It is supposed to be a cool day so I won't worry about getting too hot without my coolers available. Just trying to plan for this. And then have a plan B too. I have a whole house generator if all else fails.

Wow...that's a pretty long stretch of no power! At least you can plan for it.

Cheryl, it's cold here, too...I love it. Only up in the 70's and down in the low 40's at night. But, I still have the air conditioner running full blast...or I can't breathe.
