I am having one of those days where no food sounds appetizing. I have a house full of food but...
I am sure I will get hungry later. Even having someone else cook for me wouldn't perk my appetite up. And the plan is to cook up Ted's Mac n cheese with peas and carrots for dinner later. That is probably what I will eat too. But that gets old after awhile. I will bake some squash to go with.

Good morning, hoping the weekend was good to all of you.

Spent mine doing field work, such a shame to see all the fields of hay getting cut and just laid flat. This was such a terrible year with rain, raining again at the moment. I just wish it would visit Tina for a bit grin

Sorry for the bad year there in the fields. It is very dry here making hay yet an corn is cut .

I spent the weekend on the run.. Fun. Saturday nite went to church, then sis picked me up an took me out to dinner.
Sunday She invited me to dinner at her home, then we drove to apple orchards to get some goodie apples. I got Jonigold an mackintosh.Love the sour apple for sauce an pies.

I didn't have time to bake anything for sis dinner, so I just took a dozen of eggs.LOL
That made her laugh.. Also picked a bouquet of flowers for her table. She smiled. Mine of course mooo

I do think we have a chance of rain coming down from the north this week. I'll take what I can get.
Good morning. Up before my alarm. Ready for the week.

Sorry for everyone's rain. WE are due for a few good days, apparently. So I guess I should get some painting done today.

Sunny: Sorry for all the lost hay this year. I wish you could have just left it in the fields as is, so that you would have at least saved some work. but oh well, it is what it is I guess.

Barb, sounds like yoiu had a nice weekend with yoiur Sister. It is so nice that the 2 of you have each other to do thigns with. I am so happy for you.

Tina--Hoping that your appetite picks up & that you get that rain you are wanting.

Sheri: yes your dinner sounds good. Glad that your hubby helps you. That is so nice to hear.

Crazy and fun are good things. Especially before the snow fences you in.
I got Ted to school and stopped to shop for some fresh veggies and fruit. I put in some chicken thighs to cook when I came home. I will eat those with some baked yams tonight. I'll have plenty of chicken for other meals as well. I'm thinking pot pie and stir fry. My appetite may be back.

Fresh veggies & fruit are the best. glad you had the time to stop. and yep, it sounds as if your appetite is back. thumbup

I too am having a chicken meal tonight. Hamburger Helper has put out Chicken Helpers so I though to try one where you make a seasoned pasta side & then fry the chicken breasts in a special seasoning--BUT I think I will bake the chicken. it won't taste as good but it will be healthier (I hope)

well I was just in for lunch--back to painting wavy

I just read where Junie posted "Sheri yes your dinner sounds good." I thought "Oh boy!" I've figured out what to have for dinner and it's going to be good. But then I realized that I'm the one in this house who cooks dinner (usually) and I haven't even begun to think about that yet so I figured Juniegirl was just crazy. Then I remembered that there's another Sheri on here (Nana) and read back and now I'm wishing Nana would invite me over to eat.

yea, sorry Sheri--I spelled it wrong when I was talking about Nana--I meant to say "Sherri"--perhaps I sould call her "Nana" huh ???

Yep Dodge---you are the only Dodge & I am the only JunieGirl--the only "Carol" for that matter....(well, that I know of)

Today I painted:
the back garage door--(to the back yard)--
the frame to said door,
the steps from the garage to the kitchen,
touched up a few places on the door between the kitchen & the garage
and I also painted the mail box and its wooden post.

They are all whie, & while I had the paint opened & the brush messed up I figured may as well do them all.

Tomorrow (afternoon) I will do the deck floor--apparently there is not enough stain left to do the railing as well... why

off to eat supper now...

Afternoon all,

Yes call me Nana - even my hubby does about half the time... LOL! I get confused sometimes when talking to Sheri too- feels like talking to myself... easily confused and Sheri you are invited for dinner anytime you can get here... LOL!

It's been a running around kind of day here... did errands with Carrie... and we went out for lunch as a treat... she was so tired but didn't want to sleep all day and mess her sleeping patterns even more than they usually are... but we got it done...

I think we will do fish for dinner tonit.. and some Spanish rice... quick and easy... have to get the pan of enchiladas wrapped up good and in the freezer too.. will make a good meal later on when we need something hot and filling when it is cold... got warm here today- in the 80's.. strangest Oct we have had here...

Well off to take out the fish to defrost- and get the rice in the cooker.... have a good evening all!

Nana

well it is one of those deck stains---more like a varnish but with a bit of tint to it..sorta makes it a bit darker than plain varnish would. I was upset when I first began to use this brand many years ago, but I had bought it so I used it & once I started wi5th it, I had to keep it up. DH says next year we are going to use something else. The price just keeps going up year after year..(well we do it about every other year, but this next year I will do it again so the whole deck gets a good coat.)

I had a good day and a good dinner. I am glad it is cooling off. It helps with dinner planning a lot. On Wednesday I will cook up something in the oven because it will be cool. Maybe meatloaf. Dinner dishes are done. And I am tired, even after napping today.

Thank goodness we finally got some rain. You guys sure are busy. I sanded, primed, and painted a chest red. We bought it unfinished years ago and had stained it oak and then put poly on it. I thought it was time for a change. I moved it into the hall and it looks pretty good.

Your chest sounds pretty Sheri-- glad you got to it.
Tina, I didnt want to get up either--but I really think this time of year affords itself to staying in bed where it is warm & cozy.

I am off to ceramics then back home to do my deck staining today--fun fun--NOT. But I will be happy when it is done.

Getting jobs done is a real feel good thing. The more dreaded the job, the better it feels when it is done.
I have been out taking care of pets for my friends and then cleaning up litter from our high winds. I have a 55 gallon drum full of pine cones for fire starters. I could probably gather another full drum if I had it. I love the smell. I wanted to gather them up before it possibly rains on them tomorrow. I still need to move the piles of pine needles out to the road so they can be moved to the green waste dump. Moving along here.

ah Tina--you are always busy doing some kind of work or the other. I admire you for that.

I used up all of the left-over stain today on the deck. I didn't get all the deck done but most. Next spring I will re-do the whole deck.

Bless you Barb, but I do my fair share of doing nothing.
The other day I got up & started working aorund the house & could not belives that I wanted to do so much & was just going & going along--cleaning this & cleaning that---
THEN I remembered--- idea
I had forgotten to take my morning meds. They make me feel like I have not had enough sleep so much so that I cannot make myself do much work.

But I must forge on & clean my house next. October 20th my BIL & SIL are coming to visit his & Rod's Mom. She would rather have them stay with her but they don't want to impose on her what with her living in the assisted living.

Busy lady bees we have here...preparing for Winter. I am loving this weather we are finally getting, the afternoons are so beautiful and not a mosquito in sight.

Today is shed cleaning and mower servicing and such. No matter how much one does....that chore list never ends.

Good morning. We have rain. Real rain. Cold rain. It is so rare before halloween that I don't remember any before. ever
That is the good news. The bad news is my roof still leaks. What was done last year was not enough. I will need to deal with that soon enough.

And good morning. It is going to dry out today. We had some good rain yesterday and last night. There is little fire danger for a couple of days. And that makes sleeping a bit easier.

good morning everyone. Just dropped in when I realized I doidnt post when I was here earlier. blush

Glad that you can rest easier for while, Tina.

I am on my way to my sister's house. She is loaning me a dress to wear to her Son's wedding next week. So today I am taking my shoe & jewelry options voer ther so she can help me chose what to wear.

But first I will go to my MIL's & do her pills for the week.

Sad story: a week or so ago I bought new printer ink. well since my bals ink was technically full my color cartridge would work & I can print in color. BUT the balc would not work. So, I decided it is the black in cartidge (it had been on sale) & so I bought NEW ink. well the new (for sure good) ink will not work either--so somethuing is bad with my printer. tapfoot Lordy it is always something, isn't it ???
I am hoping it is an easy fix.

BTW: I had a paper jam back before this all started---I guess a piece of paper could be caught in the printer yet--but these #!@?# printers do not open completely up so I could easily remove said paper--so I have no way of knowing for sure. why

well oiff to see what I have to wear--wavy

Hope you fix the printer easily... they are a pain in the patootie sometimes...

I had a really bad day yesterday.. if there is place on my body it hurt... swear even my hair hurt.. hubby wanted to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond , he got a gift card from work a while back and it was almost time for it to expire so we went and got a big George Forman grill for the house- so he doesn't have to bbq in the snow now...LOL! got my self a mandolin too.. hope it makes it easier to slice veggies for me- knife work is getting harder now for me... as soon as we got back I went back to bed... could not feel warm.. even under an elec blanket.. slept for a while and then felt better.. hopefully that was the end of that... it's the weather changing I think... supposed to rain tonit- may snow but more likely rain... but temps are dropping ...

Well off to cook the eggs- we both slept in so breakfast is late today!
