Morning all,

Hubby was watching CNN all morning and learning how to text on his new phone... I think he has it now... he got a windows phone- didn't want the iphone so have to learn both so I can teach him how to use his and know how to use mine too...LOL!

If you figure out how to teach the snow to stay off roads let me know.... would love ours to learn that lesson too....LOL! At least ours didn't stick this time.. and today it's sunny... colder tomorrow though... UGH!

The boys like mac and cheese from the box too but I too add some mac to it and make it less cheesy that way... tried from scratch once or twice and it doesn't taste right to them...LOL!
Once when we were first married- I worked late a few nights a week so Joe made the 2 older kids dinner- mac and cheese the first time he made it- he read the directions wrong and put the cheese pkg in with the butter and milk and then drained it all out- kids at it anyway and told him it was good..... they told me later it was just plain noodles but hey didn't want to hurt his feelings... so showed him the correct way later on... still a funny family story.....LOL!

Well off to start a load of laundry and then work on my blanket...

Have a good day all.....

Nana

It is good to be in for the day. Teddy got a clean bill of health from the doctor. And he behaved pretty well. I took him to a dollar store after and he actually chose some toys. That is different than his usual. Normally he looks at things and then puts them back on the shelves. This time he put them in the basket so we bought and brought them home. They are lined up on his headboard with his others now. A stop for some fast food and we are in for the day.

Cindy, I like mac and cheese from a box but I've never seen the church food brand. Try Kraft. My children like it better than home made.

I like the Mac & Cheese Deluxe by Kraft or the Velvita Shells and Cheese...

Kraft does taste the best. I saved receipts one year in old Kraft mac n cheese boxes. I was cleaning house last year and sorting and tossing. The ingredient list on the old 1980's boxes compared to the newer boxes really turned me off. I still purchase them because it is the only kind Teddy will eat and the only vegetables he gets. I tuck in peas and carrots. But I try not to think about what is in it. For the rest of my food stuffs, I go as much whole food or organic and fresh as possible. I have been going back to scratch baking and cooking most things. It is fun.

I agree Kraft is best... I used to puree sweet potatoes and mix half cup with the cheese... my kids
never knew it... used to do it with a lot of stuff.. probably still should but to lazy...

Worked on my blanket today some.. put together the top with pins and got the inside ready to sew tomorrow.. today we kind of lazed around , did go to Derek's doc with Carrie and he was very pleased with Derek's progress.. he actually held a conversation with him and joked with him... far cry from the way he was a yr ago.. so it's working !
Yay!

Well off to go watch tv for awhile...

a girl who had kids that went to school with mine said she always blended up her onions until they were like pulp & then cooked them in faood b/c her boys said they did not like the feel or taste of onions---They never knew that is what she did.

2 of her 3 boys are grown & married now with boys of their own--I have to wonder if she ever told them. why

very tired & going to sleep now--night night.

Good morning. I was up in the night so I slept in this morning. Very grateful that I can do that.
It is sunshiny and going to be warm and the winds have calmed down today.

And I am home for the day. Ted had a decent dentist visit. I am ready for the school routine to resume for now. At least tomorrow and Monday. He has another appointment on Tuesday.
I will nap at some point because my night was interrupted.

Wonder if her children got any nutrients from those onions. Sounds like they were cooked to death.

I figured the pulverized onions I used to hide in my kids meatballs and meatloaf would be cooked the same amount of time as they would chopped. And they were in there to blend flavors more than nutrients. Onions in food is not adding much anyway at a tablespoon or less per serving.
It has been a long day. I did nap but I am already looking forward to bedtime. That is a good thing.

Well we got the snow last night- it just stuck to grass and trees and is already melting away... .... sun is out now but it is chilly out there for sure.... heard they opened another ski are over the weekend.... we are supposed to get warmer over weekend so glad of that..

Not much else going on today, have to pick up Derek and take him home after school, they don't spend very much time at our house anymore, growing up ,, but am always on call if they need us for something...

Well off to get started on my day- late start but had to wait till I got warmer to get moving.... really hate being cold... guess I have mentioned that...LOL!

Have a good day all!

Friday has been a very long day. But a lot got accomplished today. Ted to school then shopping for the weekend. And I got rid of a lot of Fall clutter that fell this past week. And more firewood has been delivered. Some of it stacked.
I got Ted back home and napped. Dinner is in the works here. Just burgers and salad.
All in all a good day.

Yup Tina, Carol has company for the weekend.

Cold and still rainy here...not much planned for today. Grandbaby keeps my weekends full either way.

Good morning. I also don't have heavy duty plans for today. I will get laundry done and some cooking for the week ahead. Then I will call it good.
Our weather is warm, dry and lovely. Maybe rain coming in at the end of the week.

And my day is all but done, save dinner. I made a large chicken salad that should last us a few days. And a coleslaw and 3 bean salad to go along. I like salad meals. It is warm and very dry out and salads sound good.
I worked outside a bit this morning. Cleaning up more corners. And while the salads were being made I set my computer to cleaning itself. I just had to wash my hands and come punch a button once in a while for the next phase.
And then I sat and watched a football game and dozed. Not sure who won.

Good morning.

Glad you had some family time Cindy kissie

What do you put into your chicken salad Tina?

Spent the afternoon yesterday at Walmart with DD and grandbaby. I am fed up with that being the only store to shop at here...lately their stock has been dwindling.

Good morning everyone. Just in for a few moments.

Tina, thanks for missing me--it is appreciated much.

cindy, I completley understand about missing your family. I woke up crying this morning as well. & it seems that Rod thinks it is just wrong of me to feel this way, so I am here all alone in my misery, with no sympathy. I so wish that Brennan & Rachel lived closer to you, Cindy. Ah to dream--

Sorry you do not have many places to shop, Sunny. I do, but can't really drive to many, so Wal-mart is mostly what I have as well. If it were not for my sister taking me places, I have no idea what I would do sometimes.

very busy weekend. & now week, from the sounds of it. Life around here should be back to normal by wednesday evening.
Until then, see you all as I can

Really as you age you do miss family more. However one cant upset their lives either. Young prefer young, no matter what age.
My son is 7 miles away an so is brother an sister. I do try not to depend on them.. Like you Carol I been going out once a week with sis..Know now when it snows this wont happen.
Is boring at their city homes, to me.. I prefer country. I have lots of hobbys to keep me gong. Indoor ones. One good neighbor whom I can call on when lonesome.

Good morning. I drive Ted about 15 miles to school so there is plenty of shopping opportunities on my route. And I am grateful for those.
I'm glad you popped in, Carol. I have spent some time talking to myself.
I am ready for the new week. Today is school but tomorrow is another appointment for my Teddy dude.
The weather is supposed to be lovely all week. I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

I have been on the phone making appts and keeping them the last few days.....we went to eye doctor yesterday and ordered out new glasses... and made appts for our physicals and one for the dermatologist.. have a basal cell growing near my eye... so going to have that checked and removed... not looking fwd to that but has to be done... also my bone density test too.. got to get it all done before they change our insurance .... they just voted again to either reject the contract or go on strike .. will know in a few days what is going to happen... really hate this.. but have been negotiating for over a yr now... not a good way to live... almost want to just retire and call it good... will do it if it comes down to it.. Joe hates the way it's at work now and I don't blame him..... but wants what he is entitled to after 40+ yrs too..

I am almost done with the blanket... kind of put off working on it for awhile ... last part is hand sewing... takes me a while to do that part...

Well off to get my breakfast, slept in today....

Nana

Hi Carol....

I have been running it seems today... slept in a while but up and going ever since- Joe took boys to school today.. they had half days... and it is book fair week for the 2 littlest ones... so we did that too for them and then took Timba to the bookstore, so he could get his books too... now they have been playing outside and building stuff out of wood out in the garage... it's almost 70* today and so nice.... they are enjoying it a lot... Joe is too since we don't have them here as often any more...

Sunny it's good for you to have a paying job now... sometimes I think I should try for one and then realize I am always on call for boys so wouldn't work to well... really hoping they don't call a strike , we find out Monday for sure... hate waiting .........

Well off to finish up laundry... get something ready for dinner... haven't decided what yet... may fry some chicken- oven fry it .. have a bunch to put away anyway so may cook some while I get rest all sealed and in freezer...

Have a good afternoon and evening all..

Nana

Welcome home, Carol. I know you didn't leave anywhere but I sure missed you.
Nana, I'm glad you are getting some of your boy time today and good weather to go with.
I have not been on top of things the last couple of days. So not a lot got done around here today. Tomorrow should be better.

Hi Tina, I missed you as well. No, I didn't go anywhere but hey, I'm still back-- shewinks

How is Teddy doing ?? Didn't he have some dental work done--or am I confused ?? And, Sadly, the thing about work is, it waits patiently for us to come & do it. It sure would be nice if it were to get magically done if we put it off for a while, huh ? I hope you soon get yourself caught up & back to where you want to be.

Nana, sounds as if things are going well for you, that is great.

Supper is just over & cleaned up. I will go in later tonight & clean up the dishes. Right now, it is rest time. thumbup

I hope all of your doings were fun and not too draining, Carol.
Teddy will have oral surgery on Tuesday. The last 3 weeks have been filled with pre-op appointments. While he is out they will take blood work and do thyroid tests. And the osteo specialist may want xrays of various joints and possibly a full mri. Or we may set up a future appointment to do that. It depends on how he does on the anesthesia. And if the doctors get their orders in before Tuesday. We will see.
I am tired and it is not yet 7:30. I can't go to bed much before 9. But I am going to say sweet dreams now.
