YAY !! A new CH--- party

Tina, I hope you got to go back to sleep...
Sunny, glad for the rain & not the snow---

I am staying home today, as they are calling for bad rains all day, It is a good thing to stay home as I need to wait for a phone call that my tires are in at Sam's Club.

I did not go back to sleep. I also rested but did not nap today. I will sleep well tonight. But it was a good day, all in all. I do want to work on house cleaning more. I did not do all of the fall cleaning indoors that I wanted to get done. So it is a continuing chore.

to my notion, cleaning is a never-ending battle---so no one is ever really done cleaning, they just hit pockets where they are done for the time being... why

Good morning. My alarm woke me for a change. But I was up in the night. So about the same hours of sleep I have gotten lately.
I will get my munchkin to school and then see what damage I can do with a vacuum around here, today.

I hope you had a lovely time, Carol. A tea room always sounds so uncomfortable to me. Of course, I never go out to eat any more. If I have any food cooked by others, I bring it home to eat. I am getting pickier and pickier about knowing what is in my food these days.
I had a very busy day. But there were a lot of things I wanted to get done before the weekend. I don't want to go out at all over the next 3 days. One of the things was visiting the national cemetary with Ted today after school.
Tomorrow I will do a long cooking version of spaghetti sauce. We will eat 'sghetti on Sunday. I loaded up on salad greens today and I am growing some as well. My neighbor gave me some smallish multicolored bell peppers she is still growing.
I took some pinecones into Ted's class today for a craft project. One of his aides asked if I had any more for her home projects. I need to take Teddy out with a couple of buckets to load up for her.

Pine cone projects--how cool is that ???

I have a very nice time. We had salads & a small cup of soup to go with. Then of course we had dessert. I would have rather had a second helping of the Cream of broccoli soup though, I must say.

Tomorrow morning Rod & I are going to visit my oldest DD who lives in Southern Missouri, which is about a 3 hr drive from here. I am so excited, I cannot wait. And the weather is supposed to be nice--YAY me !!!

If I do not have time to come back in in the morning, I'll see you all Sunday night or Monday morning--wavy

Morning all,

Got woke up my hubby's alarm this morning... it sounds like a siren so it is really loud.. he is deaf in one yr and can't hear out of other one so he needs it to get him up but I am a room and a half a way with 2 closed doors and I can hear it!

We bit the bullet this week and bought a new car for me... 2014 Ford Focus.. it really nice , dark grey and has all sorts of fancy things I am just now figuring out- we got the friends and family deal at son's dealership.. saved us a bunch on it so that was really nice- now we can let JP buy my Sentra from us and he will have a safe if old car for this winter... we are taking it to have the struts checked on Mon. pretty sure it needs new ones and we have the lifetime warranty on them... so if they need replacing we will have it done then "sell" it to him... we have to take the new one in an have the window tinting done next week too so will be another busy week next week... Joe says this is my Christmas, birthday and anniversary presents for the next 5 yrs...LOL! we haven't bought a new car since 89.. but this will be our retirement car....

The boys are doing well now- Derek has found a new craft he loves.. rubberband jewelry, new fad at school- he is actually making money selling them ... helps to bribe him to go to school - he needs new bands all the time and she tells him he has to go to school every day for the week to get them... whatever works .. ! Timba finally got all caught up with the work he missed at the beginning of school too... so he is a happy camper again- and Nicoli is doing really well .. reads all the time now for enjoyment not cause he has to and that is so good to see...

Well we are going to have a nice day today.. warm and sunny so I am going to open up the house and air it out- may even wash windows... need to start getting my office cleaned out again- why is it that's the catch all room I will never know but it sure is...

Well off to get my coffee and oatmeal.... have a good day all....!

Good morning. Hearing your daily weather report reminds me to thank my lucky stars that I live where I do, Sunny. I am too old for snow any more.
I browned the meat and began my sauce. It will slow cook all day long. I love a sauce that mostly sits on top of my pasta.

Just getting ready to boil water for my spaghetti. I made garlic bread, real garlic (light), real butter on real bread, all ready to tuck under the broiler.
I can barely wait.

That does sound good Tina... I made chili and cornbread is baking to go with... my house smells good too...

I did get a lot accomplished today.. dusted my ceilings, cathedral and popcorn- have a really long pole and a webby on the end that does a good job of it.. did laundry too... will do the rest of it tomorrow... bedding and such... spent some time redoing our budget too today.. and running scans on the office computer, realized it had been awhile since I did it...

Was beautiful out today too... seems like we are having an Indian summer right now.. the mountains are getting snow but the days are really nice down here, do have a little wind now and then but can go out most days without a jacket.. just hope it lasts awhile .. but Joe says someone told him Poor Richard's Almanac says we are to have a cold snowy winter ....

Well off to finish the last load up and start folding--- going to try and get to bed early tonit,,, was up to early this morning...

Have a good evening all

Nana

I am sorry, Cindy. I wish I could cyber-zap some over for you.
It was good and it is all done and cleaned up after. Except the sauce is still cooling on the kitchen counter. I have a mess of sauce for leftovers and for the freezer.

Good evening. Leftovers for dinner here. Some things taste so much better for the wait.
I got a lot done outdoors today. We are having fabulous weather for working. And it should be all week. I hope to get all of the last week or so of leaf drop moved out. It is not finished dropping but moving layers will be better than truckloads.

Morning ,

Sunny we are supposed to get some of it later in the week too- do hope it stays in mtns but it is getting colder at night so ours will come sooner or later...

Joe is off today- just left to take boys to school... then take car in to see if struts need fixing... and then take new car in to get windows tinted.. son will bring it back to us .. hopefully all will be done by Fri so we can sign old car over to JP and then he can give us back truck for hubby to drive when weather is decent-save us some gas money- Tahoe is wonderful for hubby when weather is nasty but truck is so much easier on gas...

Going to try and get my windows washed today.. need hubby's help for it, not tall enough to reach the locks without a step stool and not crazy about using that alone in house... want to get them done before winter makes them even dirtier... It's going to be 62 today so good day to do it...

Hope everyone has their flags out today- my whole block has their out.... so thankful for out vets and their sacrifices and their families too...

Well off to make some breakfast for my hubby... he will be back from the kid runs soon...
Have a good day all!

Nana

I did lay me down for a nap but didn't sleep. The rest was good though.
Today we snipped and trimmed and shaved a face. The bedding is clean and fresh. Dinner has been served and eaten. I still need to get my shower in. And my day will be done. I do need to shop tomorrow for the bits and pieces around here.

Good morning..congrats on the new car Nana. It is illegal to tint windows here.

Glad Juniegirl had a great weekend and once again Tina you are ready for the school week.

The roads are slippery here, a lot of accidents yesterday...so glad I got new studded tires last week. I need to go to work today. Did I mention how much I hate snow? lol

Good morning. You have mentioned that you do not like snow, Sunny. I am glad you have studded tires to deal with icy roads.
Windshield tinting is tricky by law here too. It cannot be too dark so the driver can be seen. But the tinting can sure help a driver to see during those sunrise/sunset situations. Side and rear windows can be tinted pretty dark though. I think my daughter's car is about as dark as it is legal to do.
I am ready for this short week. I have a basket full of pinecones to take Ted's teacher aide today. It is pretty decorative on its own. And I need to stop and shop after I take him to school.

Yes, I have the windows on my car tinted as well---my mechanic said if they were not tinted, I could never get the car cooled in summer as there are too many windows. BUT--as Tina said, they cannot be so dark as to block vision into the vehicle. As far as I know that is against the law here as well..

Snowed here last night--and while only an inch or so, it was warm so it was a wet snow, which is now frozen--I am sure the roads are horrid...We are not allowed studded tires, but I am glad I have new ones, I am hoping that will help me today, as it is tuesday...

You are an excellent "room mother" Tina--I am sure Ted's teacher is glad to see you coming.

Sunny, be safe driving to work---

Off to ceramics--TTY all later

It just doesn't snow here, so I'm kind of jealous... You have to go looking for the snow to really get any around these parts (such as driving up to the mountains).

Good Morning,

So far this week no snow for us.. is cold though and on it's way they say.. I'm with You Sunny.. don't like it either.... it is legal here to tint side windows and a strip at top of windshield, helps with glare... and keeps cars cooler too... if our Tahoe wasn't tinted it would be very hot.. it's black... when we take it to Az the cops do give us a second look but we have Colo plates - the tint is considered to dark there.... its what they call limo tint..

It's my day off today as far as the boys... going to work on my office again.. so much stuff I need to get rid of or donate... did spend time yesterday going thru all my receipes and put them in order in my big notebook.. going to try and go back to making my menu for the week and just getting what I need for those things when I shop... got away from doing that lately and should be planning more... found some receipes we like that I haven't done in long time... and my mix receipes for no salt so going to make some of those up today too... been saving spice jars for them...

Well off to get busy... have a good day all!

Nana

My day is half done. I am going to nap in a bit. I am snacking right now. I am thinking mac n cheese for dinner tonight. I make loaded potatoes for those of us who are tired of the mac. I have salad makings already for a side.

Hi--well, the roads were clear here----the few puddles I saw were water, so the temps were above freezing before I left home.....
We set up Our Christmas party at ceramics--we decided to just go out to eat after ceramics--(like we always do-lol-)
There will be gift exchanging though...

I love loaded baked potatoes---I should put them on a dinner list for us...Thanks Tina.

Dante is better today--I am thinking I had him too drugged up. so I skipped a day of giving him his meds & then cut back on them---he is so much better tonight...
