Good Morning. coffee
I have been up for over an hour. MY throat is so sore I can't deal with it--no fever & no other real complaints though----Good news is my dishes from last night are done, and I have one load of clothes already washed & in the dryer..
Perhaps I should get up this early all the time---- why

Good morning.
I am so sorry you have throat things going on, Carol. My cure for throat is honey and cinnamon in a little warm water or tea. It is a wonderful combo. And also a colloidal silver called ASAP. These were the "snake oil" miracle drugs before modern antibiotics and I am a firm believer. I have had them work small miracles around here.
I have plans to go out later to a store that is not open as early as my others are. And general cleaning and puttering around the house. I'm also thinking a pot of potato soup is in the mix somewhere.

I have cinnamon & Honey, Tina--so I will give that a try. Thanks so much.

I went back to sleep at 7-ish & got up a few moments after 9, so I am back to normal in the sleep catagory. I still liked getting that work done so early I must say.

potato soup...yep, soup is going to be in my future soon...as I have said, I think on Monday. And as luck would have it, I have just found some turkey legs in my freezer--they would be prefect for soup.

When I was talking soup earlier, I had forgotten that I had my alfredo chicken dinner all planned out. So my potato soup will wait.
I am glad you have the honey and cinnamon on hand, Carol. It is very helpful and naturally antibacterial and antiviral. It has masses of other health benefits as well.
Getting ready to head out to my late-opening store.

Ah yes, I remember that---NOW THAT sounds yummy----save soups for another day, yes.

The glass repair guy has just called me to say he would be here in an hour or so---here's hoping that he is still here when Rod gets home---(I hate to be left to take care of this myself)

Afternoon all,

I have been putting stuff back on shelves and cleaning up a little today- and playing records I haven't heard in years... have all my Mom's too... brings back lots of memories.... found the record my choir made in school ... have a solo on it I forgot all about... LOL! Been playing a lot of gospel and hymns today ... just in that kind of mood..

I think we will be having fish for dinner today... didn't take out anything else so that I can defrost quick... today has been pretty nice but supposed to drop a lot tomorrow and snow so thinking I will make a big crock pot of stew tomorrow and some bread.... will be good on a cold day...

Carrie took today off- she got her new stove today... she is so happy- the one that came in the house only had one working burner left of it- kind of hard to cook for 6 that way... she asked me if dad kept the oven hood from her old house they took out to put in a microwave- it was practically new at the time.. I said of course it's in the attic of our garage ... good thing he did will save them getting a new one- and will match the new stove too... the one is her house is gold and not in good shape.... guess he has a job for next days off...LOL! Gotta keep the man busy and out of trouble... he took most of Feb off .. hoping to get him to clean out some of the junk in the basement...

Well off to thaw the fish and finish putting stuff away..... not to much left to do.. little at a time...

Have a good day all!
Nana

I have boned my chicken and tossed together an alfredo sauce. I will steam some veggies to toss in with it while I boil noodles. I walked slowly by the salmon yesterday in the grocery store but then sped up. It said wild caught Pacific and I am a little picky these days. Paranoia.
So dinner is all but made and eaten.

I HAVE to tell you this...
I made a meatloaf for supper tonight---My DH looks at i t & says oh what did you do ?/ Did you turn the left over beef into a meatloaf???

Now I am good--but I dont think even I could do that...Poor boy,- I Guess he was dreading eating beef again tonight--(he is not a big fan of beef roast)

The forcast just said we are going to get 10 to 12 more inches of snow On Saturday night & the winds will be bad---This would be an excellent time for them to be WAY wrong. rolz

The weather and the weather still on its way for the midwest and east are all over our news. I don't think they are too wrong. And it is to be colder than the storms just passed. I don't want the cold but would love to see a little more rain than we have had. There is a vague possibility of that coming next Thursday.
Dinner is ready and so am I.

Brrr to both of you. It is 56* outside right now and rising. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer. I'll take it. Spent the morning cleaning bits and pieces of this and that. That always makes me feel better. I want to go outdoors with my rake. But it is supposed to blow hard tomorrow so any piles I make will be wind whipped. I'll wait until the winds quit. I'll have to see what else I can get into today.

got real warm today--but is slowly getting colder---to my eyes we are right on the line of getting either 6 to 10 inches of snow or 10 to 12 inches of snow overnight. yikes

One church in the area has already cancelled services for tomorrow, I sure hope ours does. BRRRRRRRRRRRR

Congrats on your Christmas gift, Carol! applaud
As I read the weather, it is not the snow nearly as much as the temps that are the most dangerous. Add blowing snow and you should stay home from church.

Keep safe, Carol. I hope you are stocked up on plenty of foodstuffs.
Good morning. The news said our winds would be kicking in at around 3 am. At 2:30 they really did. I was up in the night for a bit trying to clear my sinuses. I will be napping today.
I need to get ready for the school day tomorrow. Fresh bedding, clean bodies, etc. I'll shave Teddy for the first time in 3 weeks today. Jonni wanted to see what his 'beard' would look like if it grew out. It is not yet a beard. I am so thankful that he does let me shave him.

Snow still coming down heavy---been snowing since 6am--but it would stop off & on until say 9 - 9:30am been snowing pretty heavily since.

Schools & such are cancelled already for tomorrow--I am hoping my Husband stays home from work tomorrow.

I hope all of your family keep safe, Carol.
Last load is in the dryer. Beds are all fresh and clean. Well, were all fresh and clean. Ted is a normal teen in that he lazes around on his bed with his iPad and things.
I'm thinking of making up for some of the lost sleep last night.

Sorry for Ted's
actions on the bed--but I guiess that goes with it...It could b e worse, he could be making lots of noise I guess. I just called my DD in Cape Giradeau, MO--they have NO snow--but do have lots & lots of rain--which will of course freeze tonight--- zoink..I hope she has to stay home tomorrow. I do not want to have to worry about her "skating" to work on the ice...

Tina, I am thinking of a nap as well.... snooz

Stay Safe Carol and Congrats on the new car... nice!

We got about 6 inches of snow the last couple days... sun is out now and really bright out side... not warm at all... it is really cold and will stay that way for a while now..

I am going to go to JoAnne's tomorrow and get the beads for Nicoli's blanket- and somewhere to find a sheet to make the weighted part.. probably Walmart.. cheapest place I can think of to get one.. and need another fleece blanket for second side... I know they will have a lot that didn't sell for the holidays... just need a solid color one..

I think dinner tonight will be orange chicken and fried rice, don't feel a lot like cooking... so good and easy sounds good to me...

Well off to start the rice in the cooker and get it ready ....

Have a good day ...

THanks Nana---I have to say though---Rod & I wonder who in their right mind, trades in a 4-wheel drive car for a small compact right before the biggest snow storm in 20 years... lol why Oh well it gives me one more reason to stay in I guess.

Your supper sounds good. I do not usually cook on Sunday--the most I do is pop a pizza in the oven & make salad. Today though, I made a breakfast casserole for lunch & tonight for supper, we will have meatloaf leftovers & tomorrow for lunch we will have the breakfast casserole for lunch. I love leftovers...

Windchills are going well below 0 now---in a town 20 minutes north it is already -13 windchill. It has not stopped snowing all day---We were at at least 10 inches of snowfall around 3 when I took my nap---The news is saying it will be Wednesday before things are cleaned up-- nervous It is too cold & too windy for the road crews to be effective.

We even have to sweep a walk way every time our Dog can go potty outside.

Glad that I have a warm house to stay in.

Fried rice does sound so good. But pretty much everything sounds good.
Yes, Carol. Every time I spend time around chatty children or noisy children, I thank Ted for being so quiet. Now, when he is watching things on his iPad, he can be laughing hilariously in his room. He is not completely silent. Just naturally pretty quiet.
We are all ready for school tomorrow with his bath, shaved (twice) and clothes laid out. I am getting dinner ready here. His mac n cheese with vegetables. And lots of odds and ends of leftovers.
I did nap today but already looking forward to bedtime tonight.

I agree it is nice to have a warm house when it is so cold outdoors.... we used to have to shovel a path for my Mom's dog when she was still with us.. she was a tiny little dog and did not like getting wet or being cold, we kept an old patio table outside and that kept a clear place for her under it and we would keep a path cleared for her... Carrie's big dog , half rottwieller and half german shepard keeps her yard cleared out for her little dogs... she loves being out in it...

We did the same buying me a small all wheel drive car, but I don't drive in the snow so not a problem for me... we have the Tahoe for snow driving... and his old Chevy S-10 we bought in Az that is definitely not a snow vehicle- it sits when it snows...

Well off to finish up dinner and get that done... going to be a cold evening...

WE are lucky--there is a small triangle that is protected from the snow, so all we have to do is keep the steps on the porch clean & he can get by to go potty. he is an Australian shpeard mix, so not a small dog.

Rod has a full-sized Silverado--but I am not sure it is even front wheel drive...(my car is at least that) but his is big & heavy at least...

WE have not eaten yet--we were not hungry yet, must be the egg casserole from lunch.

Temps are to be -10 in the morning, never mind the wind chill.

Sweet dreams and keep warm all. I am so droopy,it's ridiculous. But still have another half hour before I can really get Teddy to bed.

Well, I hope you are in bed by now, Tina. I am fianlly going to sleep. The temp is 4 above 0 and the wind is still blowing. I have no idea if it is still snowing or if the exsisting snow is just being blown around...
VERY "COLD" here.

Nite-nite sleep tight & keep warm... snooz

Good morning. I slept well and woke about an hour before my alarm. I think we are ready for the school week.
I hope everyone is keeping safe and well and warm.
