yes I think so too !!
I kept picking up the next thing & putting back the previous item. Fianlly settled on a large sized pink bath towel with a pink bears head. It will fit up to a 6 yr old child. Then as my G-niece also loves frogs, I bought her a large soft squishy stuffed froggie. There will be some money for the Dollar store as well.
She and her sister love to go into the dollar store with their own $$ so they can shop for themselves.

I'm working at a school today and boy did I have a terrible time finding this forum. I would either get routed to Wild Willy's page, where Bill has put all the encyclopedia stuff, or to what I guess was the original site that has a gazillion members now - I think it's on data search or something like that. I finally put "Juniegirl at the Gardener's Forum" and tada I found it.

This is the first time I've been to this school and so far everyone has been very nice. I've never understood why at some schools people are so mean and rude when others are just trying there to help.

Hi all,

I hope they stay nice too Sheri, no fun to work at a unhappy work place..

I have a roast chicken going...and some baked taters- will make some broccoli to go with and call it dinner... it is cold here- snowing and the feel like temp is -12 right now... will go down to 7 below tonit-- we did a pharmacy run today so I wouldn't run out of pills and glad we did it at noon- snow is just not stopping- not hard just steadily coming down... more of the same tomorrow .. high of 5... !

Our poor Nicoli is in the middle of an attack- the meds quit working for him- so as he had an apt today the doc changed it and said if this doesn't work they are to take him into Children's hospital and he will admit him and have the neurologist consult there... poor kid is just miserable.... can't eat - can't sleep... hurts all the time... at least school nurse saw him at the beginning of this one and now knows we aren't making this up... think she thought it was him trying to get out of school... he was doubled over in tears and nauseated when I picked him up, she didn't know what to do.. I had his meds with me and gave them to him in the office - faster he gets them the better they work usually- but evidently he has built up a tolerance and not working as well now- hope new ones work for him...

Well dinner just beeped... have a good evening all!

Nana

oh no Nana. How long was he on his current med? Hope this isn't going to happen a lot. How's your eye?

I had a really good day at work. The kids who came to see me knew their phone number, the parents answered, AND came to pick them up. It's a whole new world.

Glad you had a good day..can't imagine any of our boys not being able to reach us..they all have cells and schools here allow them with no prob. Ever since Columbine. ,if I leave my house I fwd my calls to cell and the schools all have numbers for all of us.... I feel sorry for kids who don't have that security....

Nicoli was only on this med regimen about 2 months... It just doesn't work now..hopefully new one will and he can go back to school soon...he gets so worn out from the pain and then the Medes knock him out and wipe him out after. Big price he pays for relief.... Just want to fix it for him so hard to see him in pain with no way to take it away....

well I am in bed and hoping to go to sleep soon so nite all .
Nana

Sweet dreams all. I finally got my taxes done tonight, well, except I didn't actually file them yet. I will have to pay a bit this year but not nearly as much as I let myself worry about. I can deal.

Nana I hope that they find an easy fix for your Nicoli. Poor sweet boy.

Tina, well paying a small amount is better than paying a lot. We will end up paying in every year--as we live in one state & Rod works in another---fun fun--NOT.

Sheri---Please do enjoy the school you are at.....having caring parents is a wonderful thing, for sure.

G'nitght everyone-----I hope the snow is done but we stil got like 5 to 6 inches--not to mention the roads are going to be slick tomorrow. Glad I can stay home.

Nana, being in pain is exhausting. I hope they can find something for him.

My sister who lives in West Virginia is iced in this morning. She is used to driving and living her life in the winter weather but she couldn't get to work this morning. She said the highway is closed. Not sure which highway but I know it's got to be serious to close a highway where she lives.

It's only pouring rain AGAIN here but it's supposed to get up to 68 today.

it has finally stopped snowing. But it is a mess yet--I have not even tried to go get the mail. I felt sorry for the UPS guy that came to deliver my gift for Valarie's baby Shower.

It is around 20*F now, so I guess it could be worse.

Washing clothes & getting ready to begin embroidering again...I'll get that Barn done yet...it is the largest piece to be embroidered on the quilt. I am at just 18 hrs of work.

We got just a little snow last night but it was very cold.. Carrie's pipes froz.. so I am here watching them so if it thaws it won't make a mess... Jon stayed home today- Nicoli had a very bad night- they were all up most of the night, he finally fell asleep this morning and so did they but when he woke up he couldn't walk and was very dizzy so they have taken him to hospital... this has to have a fix... kid can't go on this way...need your prayers friends- I am very worried about him.... Derek is worried too- he thinks he is going to die since he has been so sick for so long...but we had a talk and said a prayer so he feels better now-

It is really cold here today- sun is out but sure not warm at all.... have at least a week or so of this they say.... and we haven't even hit our snowiest month yet...

Well got to go and see what I can do to keep busy-

Nana

Many, Many prayers for Nicoli, Nana. And for all of you traveling down this road with him. Do keep us informed as much as you are allowed. We care.
An incredibly busy day again. I filed my taxes. Had Ted's bigger 3 year meeting with all of the needed people there. So things are moving along.
I didn't get a nap today but I will grab something to eat and then lay me down for a rest. I have clothes going in the dryer right now.

I also have not napped lately. I think once this week or last. I lay me down and my mind starts turning over with all of the things I'd like to get done. I really want to get things done. I will today. Taking a break to grab a bite of breakfast.

Wonder how Nicoli this doing today.

Junie, did you have to get up to fix breakfast? Wonder if you could fix something the night before or put something in the crock pot and let your DH get it himself.

I'm at my other school today and it's been a good day too. Maybe I've hit the jackpot.

I think I need to send out some type of bulletin to all parents telling them that they shouldn't tell their children when they have a day off work. Kids who are never sick will come to the health room wanting to go home and say "it's ok if you call my mom today because she doesn't have to work". I know they're thinking they want to spend time with mom but I'll bet mom is thinking she's happy to have a few hours to herself. I stayed home when my girls were in school and thought it was terrible that my friends who worked would take their children to daycare even if they had a day home from work. When I started working I understood. Sometimes you just need some alone time to do nothing and sometimes you need to be alone to clean or shop or whatever.

Lordy no my dear. I even pack his lunch for him the night before. I just wake up. zoink
Now mind you he would LOVE me to fix him a big breakfast, and lunch when he is home and then supper.... nono I fix his lunch for work & I make him a supper----I had an Aunt who went to work just to get out of the kitchen b/c her DH had her cooking 3 very large meals a day---THAT is not going to happen to me. And no one wants to hire a 61 yr old woman so there will be no me getting a job...
when he did shift work, he thought I should stay up all night while he was at work, & then have a supper ready for him when he got home at 9 am & THEN go to sleep with him all day. And NO he did not want me in bed with him...I think it was about control. I did not do it not even once--
My Mommy didn't raise no dummies.
(& yes I said that right)

Glad that5 school is going well for you.

weeeell I am on the down side of the barn roof, Tina--and nearing 20 hours work.
When the roof is done all I have left is a lean-to attached to the barn & the grass..when it is done, I will show you...I can do that now as my camera has once again decided to work.

I am hoping the other areas go faster....

What is the furthest that any of you have driven for a job? Or maybe I should phrase it what's the most amount of time you've spent driving to get to a job. My sister found me a job that is perfect for me. It's a federal job that is only 10 hours a week, spread over 2 days, might be 5 and 5 or 4 and 6, being an administrative assistant. Only problem is it's 56 miles from my house and with traffic would probably take 2 hours to get there by 8AM. Coming home wouldn't be so bad if if was before 5.

Does it sound like something you would like, Sheri? It sounds to me like a little when you would have to put so much into your car to get there.
I collapsed into a fairly deep nap this afternoon. Gotta get cracking on the things I need to complete on my list.

Hi all,,

I haven't been around a lot today- Nicoli is better today- guess the meds and rest helped break the cycle... that the prob with this thing... comes and goes and when it's gone you can't tell what caused it, carrie and jon are tired as can be... the frozen pipe finally thawed without breaking at about 3 am so that was a good thing... Joe was trying to figure out a way to get to it without tearing out the ceiling in the downstairs.. it is located right between two rooms with reg ceilings- rest of basement has the ceiling tiles...

I slept in today late... was really tired after yesterday.. then we went to Sam's for the month's stuff from there.. as soon as we got there they sent us all back outside a pipe had frozen down the street and burst and water was coming in the back of the store- they had the firealarms going off.. very loud! so we went and walked around Hobby Lobby for a while till trucks left.. was a long day.. and very cold.. have to wear a scarf over my face or my scar hurts... was already achy from the cold and it just got worse... came home .. put stuff away and collapsed for awhile... didn't get anything out for dinner so will probably make a froz lasagna.. not up to doing much else ....

Well off to put it in oven for later... got to take Timba home .. he wanted to come hang out here for a while... he has been good .. did his homework and stayed quiet playing video games...he is such a good kid.... Joe is going to take him home now ....

Welcome back Nana, sorry of all the problems.

Bestofour, my neice in florida travels 50 miles a day to work.. She has no time for home life. An is always broke.
Boy the $$ into gas for the trip to work daily.
Not saying what it does to the wearing out the car.

But if you so desire//

I think it's too far to drive. It just seems like it's the perfect job for me.

Glad Nicoli is at least getting some rest.

I am glad Nicoli is able to rest and that his parents are also.
I'm going to open a new CH. I am sure this one is over the limit.
