Good morning. Watching the news, a news helicopter crashed in the city, near the landing pad. A couple of cars caught fire and sent a couple people to the hospital with burns. I've never heard of anything like this before.

Morning,,

I got to sleep till 8 this morning , was good cause the wind woke me up last night and then didn't get back to sleep right away... howls around the house .... then my phone rang and was my son asking how to spell his bio dad's name- has to send for his birth certificate, well then I was up but not ready to start my day yet...so still resting some... cold today again... and cloudy...

Our birthday surprise for hubby is going well- he doesn't have a clue and I got him to agree to go our for lunch on Sat to celebrate our anniversary and his birthday .. now I just have to get him out of the house for a couple hours before so kids can come and decorate it... we got all sorts of now you are 60 decorations.. Carrie ordered a cake and I will buy some ice cream when I grocery shop...He will be surprised I hope..

Well guess I better get busy and get some cleaning done.. last day before we will have errands to run and kids to watch... have a good day all... enjoy Cereamics Carol... !

I have not been out and about since last Friday. I needed some fresh bread and milk in the house so I did go out today. I cannot believe the rise in prices in just a few days. Gas went up about 5 cents in the last week to $3.94 or so. I didn't need any today but if it ups more when I do next, I'll be kicking myself for not filling up the quarter tank I'm down right now. Milk and bread cost me more. Meat and cheese and other stuff has been steadily climbing. Anyone else seeing this?

Yes Prices are going up here as well, and quality is going down....I agree with you Barb. These last 8 years have played havoc with the economy in this house I know.

gas was $3.59 today--which is up at least 20 cents form last week.

I know that other prices have gone up as well..but since I need to eat, I just buy--but now a days I only buy what I really need most of the time.

Barb tonight I made a prepacked side dish of pasta sides- by Knorr. when the kids were small one package would feed the 4 of us and I would have leftovers. Tonight, Rod was the only one eating it and I had about 1/4 cup left over... IF the girls were home it would take 2 of these at a meal and each of us would not be getting very much then....and the manufacturers think we are not supposed to notice....

Right carol;
If they raise the Minimum wages, we will see much higher prices again in everything.
Good to get paid more, but the owners need money too.

Ps our gas bee $3.69 for several weeks now.

What I been doing .. I froze lots of apples , raspberrys an blue berrys last summer.
Now I make pies, jam, an any thing with the fruit, an freeze that. When son or brother or sis stop by unannounced , I load them down with food. Helps their budget.
Blueberry seems to be a hit this year with them.. Also make applesauce. Cookies an whatever..
Guess I will do some bread when the weather gets warmer.

Made lots of chicken soup too.

Yes, stocking up is a good thing. I do that too. And help feed a couple of my adult children. And a couple of elderly neighbors. It is sad to see prices go up so much in such a short period of time, though.

I live on such a tight budget I don't eat what I would like. Electricity, etc comes first. When Jeremy and Brennan came down last week-end he left $100 in my truck and called to tell me this after he was on the interstate. Rachel and Brennan came down saturday and she arrived with several hundred dollars worth of groceries, freezer bags, many, many meals! I feel bad that they have done this, but she says Jeremy makes plenty of money and they are just happy to be able to help me. I really appreciate it.

Haven't been on here in awhile and had more to say but can't hardly type right now...eyes are messed up so bad from not sleeping and crying for days.

I used to freeze lots of veggies from my garden when we lived at the farm. I also planted enough potatoes to last until at least January. I also grew & froze Blackberries. I forze them loose on cookie sheets & then kept them in ziploc bags so I could remove just what I wanted for pies or whatever...I also made Blackberry jam. I also made apple pie filling and froze enough for each pie. AND I was fortunate that the neighbors raised sweet corn & gave me about 24 ears a year that I would freeze in seal-a-meal bags for winter meals.

Now a days all of that is scaled way back, but I do srtill freeze some things for the 2 of us.

PS:
Hi, Cindy !!! wavy
I am glad that Rachel & Jeremy can help also. You have raised a good Daughter, and she has married a good man. Some would just ignore your needs. This also teaches Brennan a very good lesson as well... It is very nice to see you. I think of you often.

I think of you lots, too, Cindy. It is nice to see you pop in. I am so glad you have the daughter you have and she has the husband she does now.
I have no school to drive to tomorrow morning. But I am still tired and getting ready to head to bed.

Morning,

Happy spring to you too Barb.. we are due for more snow later too.but today is beautiful and sunny...will have boys later today.. but first we are going to pick up our taxes and get them filed... today is Joe's birthday... he is not a happy camper- woke up last night with a Charlie horse in his leg and it still hurts... says 60 is no fun!

Our birthday surprise is coming together , have reservations made at the restaurant for noon on Sat.. for 13 ... so now all I have to do is get him out of our house before that so kids can decorate it and then get him to go to restaurant on time... thinking I will get him to go walk Walmart or something and then say I am starving and want Mexican... text the kids to meet us - want them there before us ... keeping fingers crossed it all works..

Well better get myself moving and get the day started... have to pick up boys later too and do school work with them.... should do something about cleaning too but don't have much ambition that way lately...LOL!

I think there was a similar glitch in the countdown after New Years, Carol. James will fix it, I'm sure.
I am up in the noght. I actually had a headache interfering with my sleep. So I grabbed something for that and will lay me back down in a bit.

I hope that you finally got some rest, Tina.
Yes about the glitch, Tina--I have vague memories of it, so thanks for reminding me. I just feel a bit foolish is all.

Today, as I said, I am going to the Drs. and then shopping with my sister. I wish everyone a great day.

Good Morning. I could have stayed in bed today but nope, I was awake when the DH got up for work....

I had a great and long day yesterday. Only problem was the lady at Ross's kept $9.00 of my change..but then I didnt notice it until I was at the next store. So in the end that was my fault I guess.

A day of packing and preparing for the trip to my Valarie's tomorrow. shewinks clap

Morning ,

Well the day is finally here... we had to tell Joe we were going out to lunch today ... his work called and wanted him to work OT over the weekend and I had to tell him he couldn't on Sat... but he is good with it- just wish it could have been a better surprise... oh well... we will all be together to celebrate and come back and have cake and ice cream at home...

Woke up to it being cold again... the last few days were nice.... they keep saying snow tonit but really hope not...at least here... spring break here and I want to have a dry yard for boys to play in- ... well off to make some breakfast and see what I can do before we head to Walmart- or Target... or the mall to kill some time before lunch so kids can come and decorate the house...LOL! that he didn't figure out yet...

Well have a good day!

Nana

We are cool, cloudy and gray here. I would love some rain with that. But it isn't looking like it so much. I do need to run to a store today for a couple of thongs. No rush on that though.

Well the kids managed to decorate the house with Happy 60 things and made it festive... Carrie brought the cake here and we had a good time- lunch was wonderful are our favorite Mexican restaurant... the kids told them it was his birthday...so they put a sombrero on his head and brought him sopapillas with candles in it... sang him happy birthday in English and Spanish so was fun...then they brought out soapapillas for everyone and fried icecream... we laughed and told stories.. had the place mostly to ourselves too since we did lunch... was nice cause there was 13 of us...

Well off to find something warm to wear now- it got really cold today and we got a touch of snow - supposed to get more tonit... they can keep it though if they would ... I am tired of winter... where is spring ?

Hve a good evening all!

Nana

Sounds like a good time was had by all, Nana. Did all of the boys make it today?
I never did get to the store today for the things I needed. Nor for the thongs I typo-ed earlier today. That made me laugh out loud to read there.
So tomorrow it is. I don't like going on weekends. But I like hungry animals even less.

Wondering if this is anywhere near Bill? I was watching mud slides that took houses and some lives a while ago.

Please spread the word on this urgent evacuation notice from Snohomish County:

'EVACUATION NOTICE! EVACUATION NOTICE!

We now have information that the potential for a catastrophic flood event from the Oso landslide to the Stanwood area exists.

If you live in the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River flood plain from Oso to Stanwood, we strongly recommend you evacuate your home immediately.

We are working on establishing shelters for those who have nowhere to go. Until then, people should get to higher ground as soon as possible. Nightfall is approaching and we do not want to take any chances.'
