Yes, someone with similar interests is a good thing, Cheryl. John and I had enough to discuss but also things to do alone to refresh without the other under foot. It works when you respect the other's strengths.

HI !!
YAY for Cheryl--a date AND a new pattern to knit---that is a win win to my notion.

I agree with what Tina said. And Dodge had a good idea as well...B/C if you want someone with the same interestsd as you, go to the places that you like and that should work well for you.

Sweet Dreams from me too.

Tomorrow I have to go back to the hospital and try to see the Dr when he comes into see her. If we are lucky, her Dr will be in to see her instead of other Drs who were covering for him.

Then my MIL may or may not get to come home...But perhaps I will find out what is going on with her IF I get there in time.

Sleep well my friends.

Good morning. I woke at 3 this morning. It is going to be a very long day. The wind is kicking up here and is to be very warm. The warmth is welcomed by my bones. They have been achy with the cold and damp.

Mother Nature is fickle. But not much we can do about it. I hope your MIL recovers quickly, Carol. You know she has to be tired of the hospital by now.

Good Morning,
Just a quick trip in before I get ready to go to Carrie's... boys will be home today.. Derek's teacher let her know she isn't going to be there today so he won't be going and poor Nicoli is still in the middle of an attack.. so will go over and be there for them... Joe is off today and just left to take Timba to school... it's chilly out there- was snowing when I got up , changed to rain and now sun is out... all in about an hour... gotta love spring..

Well off to get myself ready to go ... going to be a long day....

Nana

Busy morning for everyone. Ted and I went to the bank then off to school. I stopped at Walmart to pick up Ted's nutrition drinks and then went to fill my tank. Home and the stuff is put away. Gathered floor mats and rugs and those are washed and in the dryer. Ate breakfast and dishes are done. I need to keep busy or I'll want to sleep.

WOW ! You got a lot done quickly this morning, Tina. Good for you.
I am back to the Hospital today. One of my DD's are in a fit about her grandma. She thinks that she is not being taken care of properly...I do so hope that they let Marie come home today---so Valarie calms down...

TTY all later---I wish everyone a good day...

Busy bees we all are as usual.

I missed a lot that has happened these past few months, I am wondering how your 'Winter' was this year Tina?

Hoping Marie is better today Carol.

We are getting more snow today 4 to 6 inches followed by rain. We got more snow this year than last...hope it's over soon.

Good morning. I woke just a minute before my alarm went off. I much prefer that to the jangling buzz.
Sunny, our winter was still mild and we are still in a drought. It is worrisome for our summer crops and perennial crops. It can be felt in food prices all over the country.

Tina, we were already warned that certain items would not be available to us because of troubles in the Southern U.S. A bag of apples is $8 right now and bananas are scarce.

The sun is shining and my snow is slowly melting. I only have about 6 ft of snow in my yard at the moment and banks about 14 ft high.

Almost all of the US bananas are imported as well. So I think that has little to do with our drought. But we supply a lot of our country with a lot of the produce they rely on. More people are going to have to grow their own to get by. Or do without. Even a lot of Californians don't always realize how much the state is agricultural.
Where, or where is Carol?

Just an FYI: I HATE MY COMPUTER

I had a LONG very nice explanation typed up & it is gone---
short clipped version:
I WAS out with my sister, the day was beautiful----we were having a very nice day, & we were at lunch when The assisited living place where my MIL lives called & MIL was sick,--vomiting among other things--so as she was just in the hospital, I call my DH tell him,, go home--she is taken in an ambulance (b/c she cannot sit up) to a hospital near her home, and I didn't want her there, she didnt want to be there, BUT the ER Dr on duty was very good & she is now on her way to the hospital that our Dr is on staff at. I got to come home to take care of (read clean up after) our Dog.

And OH--to get chewed out by my DD Emily b/c my phone screwed up & didnt send her the joint text I sent to both girls about their Grandma.

PS---I almost lost THIS post too GRRRRRR--but it just posted early instead & I had to edit it to finish.

Thanks, Tina. I think it is just too old.

I guess my MIL is ok, we;ll as ok as one can be---She was vomiting again tonight before Rod came home,so I am glad that she is in the hospital, they will take good care of her, I am sure. I am going up in the morning again, so we shall see what is going on then.

Again, Thanks

If she is contageous, keep your distance, Carol. You don't need any health issues right now.

my 3rd load of laundry is in the dryer. When it is done I can go to sleep. I will be up at 6;30 & then go to the hospital.
Yes, Tina, she is likley contageous, but that does not matter to Rod. I will say if she is really contagous, they may not let me in her room, but then Rod was in it tonight, so perhaps they do not care. We shall see.

Night night everyone. Sweet Dreams wavy

Good morning all, the sun is shining and today should be another 'slow melt' day. They are calling for rain all week, that should take a bite out of our snow.

Sorry to here about your day being cut short Carol, hope your MIL is better today...I agree with Tina, be careful..you certainly do not need a virus of some sort.

Good morning. At least wash your hands well, Carol. That sounds like a bug that I do not want to catch.
I hope your snow melts in the best possible way, Sunny. Without flooding or leaving too much of a mess.

MIL has been admitted so at least there is that. I was worriedtheywould send her home and her not be ready for that.

I'm guessing your MIL wants you to stay? When I am sick, I want to be left alone. If it takes a hospital, there is plenty of help there to call on for an arm or something.
Please don't forget to take care of yourself, too, Carol.

Well today I dont think she cared one way orthe other---but usually she wants company. The issue is not here---Her son wants her to have company--AND he wants someone there to can talk to the Dr when he comes in. While it puts a lot on me, I will say I agree with him on that.

Man, Carol, when he retires he needs to take care of his mother.
I helped care for John's elderly aunt. I drove the 40 miles to her house about once a week and took her shopping and running errands for her needs. And after she needed to leave her home, I went to the nursing home and took her out to lunch or shopping, etc. But when it got to be too much, I sent John. We paid for a house keeper to keep her house clean for when she could return home (and collect the mail). We paid off the loan she had taken out on the home too. It can be wearing, emotionally.

When she moved to an apartment, from August when she moved out of her house until December when it sold, I went to her house every friday morning early & put out 5 bags and about 7 boxes of trash to be picked up. Her garage was full of stuff she was not going to keep after she moved into an apartment.

yes---I am who is called when Marie needs anything...I fix up her pills, I order her pills, I check to make sure she has what medications she needs. I make, verify and take her to ALL Drs appointments. I am whgo is called when there is ANY problem. I make many runs for items she needs. and she will not ask for something on monday if she can get by without new until wednesday--so it is a LOT of running. The Assisted living place she is at makes grocery runs once a week, but she will often not order from them. (it is a free service) Thankfully she will allow the pharmacy to deliver her meds, or I would make that trip as well. And it seems if she needs something she waits to ask until I have other plans--ones that can be cancelled. It is not hard, but it is stressful.

It may not seem like much but it is,- and she is a nice lady & IF I got any kindmess or thanks from Rod because of it, I would probably do it a lot more graciously. She was a wonderful lady. As MIL's go I was very fortunate indeed.
I say "was" because I think her health is going downhill now.

Time will tell.

Rod is up seeing her tonight. he should really be home and getting ready for bed...Rod will not retire for about 4 or 5 more years.

WOW sounds like you went thru a lot too. At least I do not have to pay off anyone's loan...I am sorry that you had to do that. kissie I often think I do not want to get old.

It is OK. When his aunt died, the repayment of the loan and any other bills came out of her estate before it was divvied up for the rest of the nephews and nieces. It was not that difficult really. And her basic needs were taken care of in the nursing home so I did not have to take her for a lot of medical appointments or set up pills, etc. Any appointments she did have, I made so it would work into my schedule.
I am glad your MIL is pleasant to you most of the time.

Cheryl--done as in for the week....or done as in you have another job ????\

I am on my way back to the hospital. I am not going to stay though as Norovirus is going around there--and my MIL may have a virus as well...I am wearing older clothes as the nurse yesterday told me that when I got home I should take my clothes off, wash them & then take a bath or a shower myself.
I figure no reason to wear nice clothes for a few hoursa just to wash them.

It is going to be another beautiful day here--YAY spring just may well have sprung !!!

I wondered the same thing about Cheryl's job.
Good morning. I wakened way too early this morning. Ted has a day off of school so we will be outdoors doing some general cleanup today.
