OH MY...so very sorry for this Cheryl ??

I dont suppose your brother could loan you some $$ for a while so you could try to get settled. and I agree that is not much notice at all.

I am sorry, Cheryl. That is tough. I hope you can find something that you can afford.

Hi all,

Checking in again... I am worn out- tend to forget just how hot it gets here... really gets to me- we spent today with family- guys went and played golf this morning then rest of us drove over to my nephews and had a bbq... it was nice to get to visit with everyone ... they cooked Mexican food for all of us and sweet corn on the grill- it was so good !

Carrie called me last night- there was a tornado that touched down about 3 miles from my house and they had a bad storm with it in the area.. Carrie said it hailed and rained for over an hour... was so bad the sirens were going off for over 3 hours... she called today and said our house was okay and so is hers.. so grateful it stayed away for our house...

I agree when I was a child we called Memorial Day Decoration Day.. we went to the cemetery and decorated the graves of our departed family members... part of it I think is families live so much further apart now .. hard to keep up the tradition...

Well I am fading fast and we have to get on the road again tomorrow after we go visit my MIL again .. we just may not get home till Tues depending on how late we leave.. will stop in Albaquerque or Las Vegas NM.. it's a half way point for us... Stay safe and will be back probably after I get home, or from NM if I have internet access....

Nana

Good morning. I am glad you sustained no damage, Nana. The news looks pretty awful.
I have no major plans for today. I may take Ted out to go to the grocery store. We need a couple of items. He ate all of the bread.

Glad there was no damage. I'm working both jobs today. Left late because I knew there'd be no traffic and still got here early. Finishing my coffee while I wait.

Thanks for checking in Nana. I too am glad there was no damage to either houses. Be safe on your travels home.

Cheryl--Don't work to hard & enjoy your coffee.

Tina; Do not forget to pick up eggs.

Rod tried to eat deviled eggs for breakfast today. Luckily for him he changed his mind before I had a chance to tell him "to go ahead but then they will not be there for supper".

I wish you all a good day...Not much going on here. I am just now making myself clean the kitchen from yesterday... why

WOW..we are sure having a quiet day today. I guess everyone is out doing "Memorial Day" things.

Supper is done here & cleaned up. It is trying to rain out--but so far has only succeeded in sprinkling.

I would have forgotten eggs if I had gone out. I ended up not going out today. We had a quiet day at home for the most part. I did run out and take my older son a bit down the road though.

Good morning. I would love to get a thorough cleaning of my house done. But I have to be content with one corner at a time or so.
Today will be some outside work. At least before the heat settles in.

Yes, kitchens and bathrooms have priority on time and attention. I have been outside surrounding my house with diatomaceous earth again. I did this a little over a year ago and it has saved me much heartache in keeping bugs out. No ants and much fewer spiders have visited us. I figure if there is less bug fodder for the smaller rodents (mice), they may go elsewhere.
DE is safe for kids and pets and actually good for most birds, etc. I can do this because I have no plants snug up to my house to worry about endangering bees going after flowers and things.
While I was out I noticed 2 hummingbird nests with a baby in each. I love that they build low enough to look in on them.

I put my feeders out to late this year--as a result, while I do have some H-birds I do not see them going to & from the one tree near the feeders that they usually build nests in---I so hope that I have just missed them & they are there again this year.

Just back from ceramics-- wavy

Today is another spring cleaning day.

I finally had to drag myself out today. We could not live without bread. I am not baking bread when it is over 90* outside. I hope I got enough to hold us until Monday.

Glad you are enjoying your 'Teddy time' Tina.

Junie, we have frosts here until the middle of June. My bleeding heart got nipped again.

Hi all,

We had a fairly quiet day today... had the boys- last day of school.. so had them longer than usual... have a doc apt tomorrow to see if I want to have laser treatment for the rosacea... it's not cheap but according to do only way the redness will go away completely... tired of looking like I am blushing all the time and the meds didn't do much at all...

I got our travel laundry done and one bed done too.. will do rest tomorrow after appt...

We had a good visit with family in AZ- was so sad to see my MIL in the shape she is in now- her dementia is really bad- she forgot her husband had died and asked if he liked the pics we brought.. we said he hadn't seen them yet... she accepted that alright... with all of us there (15) she came out of her room with an attendant and said look a party! She is in a wheelchair now - but still likes her hair to be done and her nails too.. so that's nice for her...

Well I have a dryer buzzing at me so better go get the clothes out... we were really glad the storms missed us too.. rain isn't so bad but tornados can stay away...

Have a good evening all... we are cooking burgers for dinner...

Nana
