Yay! Tuesday! Carol gets to go to ceramics. I hope.
Good morning. I have already been out with the sunrise and moved sprinklers around, etc. I have lost so many plants due to drought. I so hope that the El Nino year develops with the rain this winter. I'd also like to see it come early and shorten our fire season.

I am afraid some humidity will sneak back with that heat, Sunny. I am fine with my 19%. It is more difficult to ship weather to the west.
I spent most of my morning doing my budget for the month. I also took my older son to an appointment and left him in town. And did some banking. Ted and I will go out to shop tomorrow.

Ok--I did water, but first I tore out my spiderwort as it was spreading too much. I also pulled out some"volunteer" purple coneflowers. That was sad as they were beautiful & healthy...but now hopefully the ones I left will be able to fill out nicely.

We are supposed tohae cooler weather thies next few days--hopefully I can get this last flower bed cleaned up & remulched..(& I really should be finishing up my embroidering on Henry's Blanket.)

Sweet Dreams everyone--I will go to bed soon...

I need to set up my budget for this month also, thanks for reminding me Tina. Grandgirls B-day is coming up. I have all the decor and such bought but she needs a 'big girl bike'.

I planted spiderwort and removed it all...it was everywhere. Wish I could do the same for my Bishop's weed...I even tried Roundup to no avail.

By the time you finish Henry's blanket...it'll be time to start the third one Junie. shewinks

Gee a big-girl bike--such a lucky Girl--

Well I do hope that the round-up does in my spiderwort---..That flower bed is such a mess, it makes me sad just to look at it... egad

yes I know the blanket should be done soon...BUT I do not think that I will be making a 3rd or a 4th so no hurry really...
(Brian & Val even said that I do not need to worry about getting the blanket done, as Henry would not know the difference anyway)

When Emily brought me Luke's blanket back to tack the front to the back,(as I asked them to), Chris asid I should just keep it..GRRRRRRRRRR.
THEN
Emily said to me, "do NOT make this new baby a blanket"----then she thought better of saying that & said, "well, if it is a girl you can"
--so I will only make one for it IF I am asked to.
Val & Brian were neither one excited about the blanket when they saw it---so no, no more---not for MY family anyway...

You know I should have had different kids....

Off to the dentist today then other errands afterwards...

Oh Carol,, they will treasure the blankets when they realize just how much love went into them- I made many blankets for my grands.. didn't always get appreciation for them but do it anyway- now I have a new great grand coming and will make a blanket soon for this one too... I still have put away a couple I have made in my cedar chest .. and now Nicoli wants me to turn an old bedspread into new blankies for him when he feels bad.. just bigger ones Nana cause I am not so little anymore... so as soon as my finger is up to cutting I will do that...

Sheri love the business card... makes you wonder if anyone proof read it!

Well off to grocry store... Joe is going to another retirement party tonit... so it will be leftovers tonit for me and no dishes to do hopefully...LOL!

Have a good day all!

We love your blankets Juniegirl and if the kids use them and like them don't worry about their parents. Obviously it's used if you were asked to tack it. When Darbi was little we gave her a $300.00 Barbie car to ride around in and when the battery went dead instead of charging it with the charger than came with it Shelley threw it away. Didn't even give it away, just threw it in the dumpster at the county dump. She didn't tell me, Darbi did. Ginger still has her original baby blanket and still sleeps with it. She has to put it in a pillow case to wash it because it's so torn up. Colby uses a cloth diaper has his blankie when he goes to bed.

Admitting I'm stupid but I would like for you that set up a budget to tell me how. I keep saying I'm going to make one but have no idea where to start.

Sheri, my budget is just mostly keeping track of my spending. I begin each month with the amounts automatically deposited into in my accounts, take away the automatic payments, like health ins etc, then pay my bills like elec. Whatever is left over is what I have to spend on groceries and clothing and things. This month our vehicle insurance is due so a big chunk is going there. All month long I come home with my receipts and subtract that. I tally all of that up with my bank accounts to make sure we are in sync. I like it because I know where my money goes. I hate not remembering where it all went. And I always know how much I have left. Leftovers get saved.
I only pay my bills with checks. I use cash for most of my groceries and such. I try to only use my cards for any online shopping where I get Ted's school clothes and such.
My budget in a nutshell.

Have I said that I hate computers ?? Well, I do !! I had a lengthly explanation of my budget on here & it just 'went away"

So I iwll try a simple version.

I made a list of all of our expenses, plus savings and a Miscellaneous section.

I totaled the expenses for a year & divided it by 12 (for each month. Then I divided it by 2---as we get paied 2 times a month.

I made one page for this information to be recorded. Then there was a page (or 2-3) for each section. say utilities, phone, groceries, car insurance, spending cash, etc. At the end I had a savings section----
Each , on paper in each section I would divide up the paycheck into each and record it. Ant leftover money at the end would go into a miscellaneous section--this was used for "fun stuff, etc.

I stopped because unless I had say 6 months or a years worth of $$ in each category, I would not have the $$ in a category at times to pay a larger bill--like say my car or home insurance. Now I pretty much just do it as Tina does...It was a beautiful system, if only I had of been able to put a full allotment in each category when I began....Oh well...

G'nite to everyone--Sweet Dreams wavy

Good morning.

You're blankets are beautiful Carol...and will be treasured by your grandkids. kissie

That card sure is funny...open 7 days a week, unless you want chicken on a Monday lol

My budget is simple also. I take the amount needed for taxes and insurance and divide by 12 and put that amount away every month. After that, I alot so much for each section(groceries, gas, Walmart trip, dollar store, emergency, savings and miscellaneous) I sometimes take from one to the other..but never over the allowed amount.

We use our income tax money for repairs, an item we really need or sometimes want and a set amount put away for Christmas.

Good morning. It is going to be another hot one. And people are going to be out getting ready for the holiday tomorrow. I want to go out early and get my bit of shopping done. On Saturday, I will be hemmed in by the Mayhem concert at the end of my road. I will not attempt to go in or out before Sunday.
I have not spent a penny this month so far. Or written any checks, etc, I need to get that done.
Your budget plans sound workable, Sunny. I do not break mine down into individual expenditures as much as you do. And mine would not work as well if it was more than just myself drawing from it. My mother was a mega-bugeter. Every single penny was accounted for before it was spent. She went to the bank once a month and got out exactly what she needed every month in exact change to cover expenses. It was amazing to see. But exhausting to try to copy.

and the most important part: I think the high today was in the mid 70's...who would have ever thought such as that would be possible in July in Illinois ??? thumbup

I am glad you have such moderate weather happening. I am not expecting to see 70's again (during daylight hours) for a couple of months. It is 103* outside right now.
Sounds like you had a productive day. I didn't do much at all here.

While this is not a competition, I suspect that on most days, you are far more productive than I am. So if you had a day of rest, that is wonderful.

I did go out this morning. I finally ran to the store and bought bread. I also drove through the car wash. Living on dry dirt roads has its drawbacks and it has been a couple of months.
Good morning. I thought I had posted here earlier. I would like a little of your rain, Sunny. I am glad you are getting some.

Well, I could spare some for you Tina. Hurricane Arthur is coming up the Eastern sea board and is supposed to pound us tomorrow. They have been issuing storm surge warnings.

We are getting a break from the rain right now...and are getting a nice cool wind, feels nice to open the windows.

OH MY !! Hurricane Arthur ouch, Sunny. I hope that you are far enough inland that he is not a "real" problem.

it is a beautiful day here. I odnt have the weather on this computer azny longer, so I cannot say the temps for usre, but I am thinking in the lower/mid 70's.. If I were a smart person I would be outisde working in my yard--but alas, I am here instead.

Valarie called me this morning at 8 am, asking me to Skype--it was grand--well, until I pushed the wrong button & distorted my image of her and Henry (I was trying to up the volumn on my sound.) I am hoping when I log back in to Skype, it will all be ok...
When we got off the computers, She called me on our land-line & we spoke all the while Henry ate his 2nd breakfaast--It put me in a very good mood.

ate a late lunch & now I am here---wavy

Grandchild time is always good grin

Just got in, we had to put all outdoor stuff away. We are under a damaging wind warning...there goes my veggie garden. rolz

The weather is so strange Tina...seems like the US is under a drought and Canada is under a flood.

No, I think only the southwest is under drought. The rest of the nation has enough or too much rain. I hope the winds spare your garden and that it does not drown it out, Sunny.
I have had a good day. Getting my van washed this morning really perked me up. It was downright embarrassing. But was hard to get to the wash this last month or better. Washing at home is frowned upon in drought situations. Car washes recycle their water.
My older kids are getting ready to attend the Mayhem concert down the road tomorrow. I am glad it is walking distance. I don't drive in that traffic. It is nasty.

Yes we in the mid-west have been getting plenty of rain. usually in July the lawns are brown and jsut are kinda 'there'. They just have to be mowed once in awhile in July & August. This month so far, there is still plenty of green clippings in my yard to turn into mulch.

Are you close enough to be able to just sit outside & listen to the bands that are playing ? You know if one liked who was playing at a particular concert ??

Going to bed soon. I think the fireworks in the area are about.over.

I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July !! wavy

If I sit outside, I could probably 'feel' the bass of some of the songs. The giant speakers are faced away from me, thank goodness. They are about 3 stories high, my guess. And the bands at Mayhem are not any I would want to listen to.
Sweet dreams, Carol.

Good morning. It will be a mellow Saturday for me. Lots of watering to get done.

Good Morning !! Another beautiful day here. shewinks

We are going to a local fruit stand today, then Rod needs to buy a board to repair his ramp on the shed. SO, since we are going that way, I am having him stop to buy my Alabama Sunset rock I need for the back, since I can't pick up my own rock in our car now...Lord I miss my Blazer.

Tina, thanks for the explanation.

I hope that Sunny is safe today, what with the Hurricane & all.

I also hope Sunny stays safe.
I decided to lay down for a bit and got back up in a hurry a few minutes later. We had back-to-back earthquakes. It made for an interesting ride. Two different places about 30-ish miles away, 4.8 followed a minute later with a 4.6.
