I would like to split the differences in your temps and mine today, Carol.
There was a fire this afternoon across the canyon (5-ish crow miles). They jumped on it quickly and got it out. The winds had died back a lot then so it was good. Quite a few of the fires at this time of year are caused by different tools used for weed abatement. Things like tractors or weedeaters sparking off of rocks can do it.

Bless you Tina, I hope so too.

I guess I will be cleaning house today so it is ready for when my BIL & SIL come to visit Rod's Mom. As it stands now, when the Baby is born, the other Sitter is going to be on the day shift, Mary will be watching Luke in the late afternoon to early evening, & then I have the night shift, as I can get him to go to sleep & can settle Luke down if he wakes. It is a good thing she has a wide sofa (Luke says it is a sofa NOT a couch) because their spare room is in the basement.

I wish everyone a good day.

When is your company coming, Carol? And how is Marie doing lately?
Good morning. I was up very early but went back to bed for an hour or so. We are to be hot again then drop into the 80's during the week. But no winds.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

My Company is coming sometime in the week of Oct 14 to the 17th. Probably just like Thursday night so they can stop in to see Marie, be social for a very small bit & then get back home as Lee is once again being an interim pastor at a church. I do not think they would stop at all but they go right thru IL on their way home.
Their surprise will be all the stuff I am sending home with them.

Marie is Ok health wise. She still is having trouble discerning reality from non-reality. But if you look deep enough there is truth woven into what she says. She was telling us how "they" were working on an upstairs "here" meaning the 1 level home. My cousin brought to my attention that they WERE renovating the hospital across the street & she had been over there for a chest X-ray. So she just thought it was all in one building.

At some point, I will go see her today.

Half the baths are done for the evening. Mine is next. I trimmed hair and nails and shaved my kid. I am so grateful he allows all of this and even enjoys it. It makes life pleasant.

Good to see you, Sunny. You are a good niece.

Today is a day of being out & about. At the end we are going to stop by & pick up Beowulf (Emily's dog) She does not want to have to worry about him in the upcoming baby delivery. Rod is excited. He wants another Dog so bad. BUT I do not want to clean up after one, or have the responsibility.

It is like telling a kid he can have a dog when he can be responsible for one, isn't it? And you know he won't.
I got Ted to school and stopped to shop. I have put a roast on the crock with onions and things. That will probably be pulled beef for tomorrow because today we will be going out. I think.

I should put a roast in the oven. I love Roast, but Rod is not a fan, and so it is hard to get him to eat it more than once.

Thanks about the dog & kids--I say YES, exactly !!!

If you cook a roast and have it with taters and everything on one day. Then change it up to pulled BBQ sandwiches another, does he still object?
The roast was a good deal by today's standards, so I grabbed it up.

Good morning all, when I cook a roast here...the next day we have it pulled over bread covered with gravy and a side dish. I haven't bought a beef roast in forever, at $8 a pound it can stay on the shelf.

The sun is shining after many days of rain...I need to give my lawn one last higher trim before the snow starts to fall.

Yes, $8 a pound does stay on the shelves here too. At least it never sees my basket. I can live meatless if I need to.
Good morning. It is Tuesday and yesterday was busy. I just want to go back to bed. But coffee might cure that, I hope.

Thank you, James. I understood most of that. I had hoped that Emily would deliver naturally and not need inducing or any of that type of thing.
Sweet dreams all. I am heading to bed.

Good morning..we were to have a 'Hunter's Moon' this morning with the lunar eclipse but sadly it is cloudy and raining so we missed seeing it.

Tina, I am waiting for news on Em...sadly she is being induced. She had a rough time of it with the last baby, hoping this one goes better.

Hi all,

It's been a long day for us too- did school with Nicoli most of day and then when Timba got out of school we worked on his school project.. I am a worn out Nana... going to make some potato soup... and probably hit my pillows... I am worn out...

I hope all does well with the baby too... got my candles lit for and easy time for all.
Well off to get my dinner and go to bed- got laundry to do tomorrow and who knows what with school....LOL!

Nana

Tonight I am having leftover pot roast with fresh new gold potatoes. I will nap and then Ted and I have an appointment at 3:30. Then dinner.

My apologies to you ALL.
I got to my daughter's Tuesday night & her MIL was there. She invited herself to stay with me, then later she let me know that she was ticked that she alone was not watching Luke for the entire time, after all she had told Chris that she took 3 days off of work--
Poor lady even tried to tell me several times "I did not have to stay, she would be ok" tapfoot

SO, when Chris went back to Emily after taking Luke up to see his brother, he looks at me & says, You may was well stay tonight too Carol, & then just have Rodney come by tomorrow. For some reason they do not really want Mary (his mom) there alone with Luke.

You see his mom was supposed to take over for me last night, after I put Luke to sleep. Then the lady that sits for her was supposed to come at 11 & stay until I came back at 4---welp we were neither alone ever from Tuesday until today when They all came home....
Luke was in 7th heaven with all of that attention for sure..
he asked his Daddy on the way home from meeting his brother at the hospital....are my "Grandmas" still home (home being his house)...
What more could a 2 yr. old ask for-than 2 grandmothers to cater to him. why

So it is a boy? Congrats again, Carol! I am sorry there is a family issue. I bet Luke had a blast. And it had to be a little nice not to be the only one at his beck and call.

Well you never know really unless they will tell you why I guess... I know my Carrie won't let her boys stay at her MiL's because Jon's stepdad won't accept Derek's anxiety problems,,, thinks they should beat it out of him... man is a creep ...

Sounds like all went well.. and you have a new grandson..... Luke must have been in heaven with 2 grandma's to wind around his little fingers... and a new brother too... hope he keeps liking that idea .... my oldest insisted on having a baby brother and then when she did she wanted me to return him to the "store"....LOL! she was 4...
Well I am heading to bed... got half of laundry done... rest will get done tomorrow... and will work on fort again with Timothy....
