Good morning. I have not had a pizza craving for years. My kids will buy pizzas on occasion but I rarely indulge any more. I have no clue why.
Today is Monday and still windy. Although it is supposed to die down today. School is out all of next week so I'll be shopping with an eye to staying home most of that week.

Good Morning. breakfast

Both of my girls have to work at their schools Monday & Tuesday next week. Emily has 2 weeks notice to give them starting today. It is going to be hard for her to leave that little one.

Barb, no we eat frozen Pizza. I used to make my own when the girls were small. BUT when the oldest went to college, they had pizza on Sunday evenings as it was easy on the cooks in the cafeteria, and so a tradition was born. WE eat Frozen pizza here on Sunday evenings. It is food and I do not have to do more than pop it into the oven. Well, sometimes I make a salad to go with, but that is all. It is sort of a day off for me, as my DH & I eat out after Church & then the Pizza for Supper.

Snow has stopped here and the sun is out. I have a feeling I had better go out today & get all of my running done while the sun is shining. I may not be going anywhere the next 2 days.

Thanks Tina. I have just looked out, & while the roads are clear they look slick. The temp here is 28. So, unless it warms up this afternoon, I will be staying home I guess.

Have I mentioned how much I hate winter ???

I just finished cutting up peppers and onion for Stuffed pepper soup. That will be MY supper.
Rod is not much of a soup person, but this will be filling, and more like a stew, so it should be ok.
Plus I plan on making him some Crescent Rolls to go with it.
Then, I will have the left overs for my lunch.

still below freezing here. Brrrrrrrr

Soups and stews are the best things to eat when it is that cold out.

I so agree.
However,
Rod came into the house tonight, saying "boy, something smells good, what is it ? I smelled it all the way out into the garage."
When I told him he was so disappointed.
he thought it was sloppy Joes.
I guess I know what we will be eating tomorrow, huh ???

That sounds so good. Although I would prefer it w/o the tomato sauce added. My mouth is watering even as I sit here.

I want food...pizza, sloppy joes, roast or soup. Whatever you are willing to share.

Something has come up in the family...can you all say a prayer for the little bit of sanity that I have left, thank you.

well, Milder is a relative word. It is much colder, barely if ever getting above freezing. BUT today the sun was shining and the roads were clear. So, I left Rod at home & went to ceramics. Then we had his Drs. apt to go to. Then we had a Wal-Mart run. I did not get to go out to eat, but oh well.

I have been watching the snow in Buffalo. I used to live in Rochester, NY. That is bunches of snow they got with more on the way. So early in the season.

yes, and while we expect snow here, this is early in the season.

Although I DO remember playing in our snow covered yard that was about 12 to 18 inches deep one year with my cousins on Thanksgiving. I was perhaps like 10 years old or so. So, I guess it does happen, we are just not used to it now a days.

I will say goodnight now. snooz

Thank you for the prayers. kissie

I am wondering if Lynne lives close to the bad storm in New York? It seems so strange to see them get the weather that we get.

You are welcome. I will try to contact here today & see about that, Sunny. I too was wondering. She did post on FB last night how the temp was down in the teens there.

G'morning... I can't believe it, but my thermometer says in is 34*F here. Does NOT feel like it, even inside.

Hi all,

Just finished trying to wake Nicoli to do school work.. he is not waking so guess Mom will end up doing it with him tonit.. kid doesn't sleep at night...

It is warmer here now... but supposed to snow again Sun... the snow we have is finally melting some...

I had good news about the last mole I had removed.. it was just sun damage... now we are waiting on the two Joe had removed...

I made a big batch of pancakes for the kids and Joe this morning .. makes a good easy breakfast for them all. I made a double batch and there is about half left.. these boys can eat!

Well off to maybe do some school he just woke up and ate so maybe he will get some done anyway..

Congratulation on the moles. I hope the good news continues.

Poor guy that Nicoli, I am glad that he got some sleep, even if it was only for awhile.

I have made 2 pumpkin pies for Rod to take to work tomorrow. here in a bit, I will be making some banana bread.

I bet your house smells heavenly, Carol.
I am glad Nicoli woke. It is so hard when night and day get confused. And glad your mole was benign, Nana.
I am just out of the shower. Feeling clean and ready for a good rest of the week, now.

I have had my bath, & have made the banana bread made. It is in the oven as we speak. Tomorrow night I will make Sinless cookies aka Healthy cookies. And possibly some more banana bread. We shall see. I wish I could eat some banana bran muffins. If I could I would LOVE to make them.

My sugar numbers are up (most likely due to a medication I am on) and my Dr. said to just not eat any foods with added sugar in them.
So any baked good is out of the question. I have not ever baked with sugar substitutes & so I would not know how to go about it is all. I just kept thinking of the muffins that I like to eat for Breakfast when I was using up my over ripe bananas that I bought is all.
The breads are to put in the freezer for funerals or unexpected guests, etc. Sweet breads in my freezer are there for sort of a back-up. shewinks

I am soon off to bed. G'nite everyone.

Good morning. Sunny, I have been weather watching. I don't think there is enough banana bread to tempt me to cross the country right now.
Have some good granbaby time, Carol.
Ted's feast in his classroom is today. I will go and eat with him and then we will come home. That should be fun.

Yea, I do not blame you Tina. Would it help to say that we have NO snow here now ??? I would not want to be in Buffalo right now though.

I only had the baby from 7:45 to 12:30. Then I had just Luke from (after his nap)at 3 pm until 4:30 when his daddy got home. Momma took the baby to the Drs. with her. she had a ay feast--that does sound good.

I sent the pies today with Rod he said as far as he knows only Sinless cookies aka Healthy cookies. I want to do that tonight so I can take some to Luke tomorrow.

Rod will have a Turkey Dinner at work next Wednesday.

Thanks Sunny. I would appreciate knowing how to do that very much.

Good afternoon all...it has been so cold here. Too cold to do much outside so I have started some Christmas food prep instead. Time to make egg rolls, pizza rolls and taco rolls to freeze.

Enjoy your nice weather, Carol. At least until tomorrow.
Good morning. I was up too early this morning with a headache. I did go back to sleep for a bit but still had a headache. Some aspirin took care of that for me. Now it is time to get some house cleaning done, I think.

I am glad you are feeling better too, Carol.
I made a roasted potato soup today. It was very good. It will be even better tomorrow.

When you get done Tina, you can come to MY house. It could use a good cleaning for Thanksgiving. We are keeping Luke again on Friday night & then Valarie & family are staying Saturday night.

The problem with work and myself is that we can't tangle too long any more. I have bigger ideas than lasting power. But bits got done today and that has to be enough. I have the whole week off of school to work on more corners.
I am still working on laundry. But that will probably end my energy other than dinner, etc. Leftover potato soup for dinner here.

I hear you, Tina. I am the same way. THAT is why I invited you to do mine. teach
Today we went grocery shopping at Wal-mart, and I still spent over $70 on just the 2 dishes I am taking to 2 places this next week. why To my notion that is way too much.

Now I am chilled from the cold rain that is falling. It is in the 50's here today bit still it is cold.

I have my clothes in the dryer now. I am hoping that will help. why

Evening all,

Been cleaning most of the day today too... hitting the corners... did the laundry... Joe is grilling steaks outside but think I am just making tater soup for me... been eating to much red meat lately...

Did go hit Wally's this morning after we had breakfast , wanted to get a couple foil pans to hold the turkey and stuffing ... of course found a few other things too... good thing we don't go there to often...

I have the same problem Tina , I decide to do some heavy stuff and then find I wear out half way thru... this getting older really isn't for sissy's.. but did get done what I wanted to today... tomorrow will start getting out the stuff for turkey day .. iron table cloths.. may even get the good silver out... Joe got the big table out of the basement and set it in my office so it will be ready .

Carrie and her family went up to the timeshare condo his family has... they will be there till Wed evening , so I have this week off as far as school goes... but does give me time to cook.... which is nice.

Have a good evening all,
Nana

I agree, getting older is not for Sissys. And here I thought I would not ever get older...but then I am from that generation....

I too have next week free. I do not watch the grands on Monday or Tuesday and that is all the school there is for her this next week.
She gave her resignation, but said she would work until Chritmas break. But they have already hired a new teacher and so I am unclear as to when she will actually become a stay-at-home Mom.

The potato casserole is for Thanksgiving proper at the above mentioned Daughter's house. I will also take a qt. of Cranberry salad, an "Autumn Cake" and a pumpkin Pie.

Then on Saturday the 29th, we will have the "Dudley Thanksgiving" where we will have lasagna, salad & garlic bread.
I will be making a double batch of the "Olive Garden" salad recipe to take to that.

I need to go to bead soon...

Good morning all...raining here. The weather gets stranger each year.

I see everyone is busy with Thanksgiving plans...we have ours in October.

Grandbaby and Grampie went back on the farm and cut a tree for the outside yesterday and we put the lights on, she was so excited. Christmas with a 4 year old is certainly special.

I forgot to tell you about the rolls. All I do is buy frozen wonton wrappers, thaw them and then make batches of whatever I want and fill, seal and deepfry. I put shredded cabbage, ground beef and soy sauce, salt and pepper in the egg rolls, (whatever you like on pizza) and the sauce in the pizza ones and ground beef, taco seasoning, beef, salsa and cheese in the taco ones.

I love egg rolls. Your versions sound good, Sunny.
I had asked because I have had both pizza and taco rolls made like cinnamon rolls. Those were good but not a satisfying meal and too big to be an appetizer. I'd rather have a calzone or empanada.
Good Monday morning. I need to go out at some point today to shop. But the rest of the day will be cleaning and cooking and resting up from those efforts.

At least having small grandchildren makes me clean a lot better than I have in awhile.

Hi all,

Slept in today so getting a later start... funny how that works..

I am still cleaning ... got a little more to do.. yes Carol we do clean better when there are small kids coming.. my nephew and his little family are coming for Turkey day... baby is almost 4 months now .... so need to bring up my portacrib and get it wiped down and clean too...

We are having high winds today, really blowing out there off and on... and it is not warm at all...Joe is glad he did the lights yesterday.. and cleaned out the gutters while he was up there- they weren't to bad at least...

I agreee your eggs rolls sounds really good Sunny,... that may be a project during Christmas break.. think boys would really like them.. Tina I sometimes make empanadas instead of pies for holiday... depends on how much time I have ...

Well off to get some stuff done... need to visit store sometime for last minute stuff... rolls... and whatever else I forgot to get .... have a good day all!

Nana

Hi. Well, it seems I spent as much today as what I spent yesterday. I was sure that I bought the bigger part of it yesterday... why

I work better & faster under pressure. So, I guess I will be getting lots done tomorrow night and Wednesday.

Well, between your potato casserole and salad for your feasts, you still needed food for your home, Carol? I always do.
Today I bought whipping cream and half n' half and rolls and 4 pounds of butter. The butter went straight into the freezer. It is almost always on sale this time of year. And today was about half of what it has been. I will be getting more between now and Christmas at sale prices. I use a lot of real butter throughout the year.

Good question, Tina.
I did buy 5 packages of meat, but it was on sale...(my grocery has meat, 5 packages for $20.00 once in awhile & when they do I try to stock up) I save about $5 to $6 when I buy meat that way. Then, aside from that, I boiught some extra potatoes & sour cream, that was for the house...oh well.

(I did buy some extra stuff to take to Emily's, as I am not sure she should have a few things we will need.)
Read what I will need to make gravy & different things,

BUTTER !!! I forgot real butter. I am OUT !!!!!

Thanks Tina.... shewinks back to the store tomorrow.. lol

Sorry, But I think you will find it for a fairly good price. It has gone up dreadfully the last couple of years. Get it while it is cheap. Butter freezes well.
Does your husband work tomorrow? I'm thinking he works not too far from where the stuff is happening tonight?
Sweet dreams all.

Sadly he does work VERY close to all of that.
He says going to work should be ok but then it will be the coming home that could well be bad. he told someone at work today that if he had to go to work carrying a gun, he will not be going to work. I was happy to hear that.

it is 1:08 here now. there are cars & businesses on fire, and much looting going on. Thank goodness I am plenty far away from it all. AND thank goodness that my Valarie does not work at a Lutheran school that is very close to there any longer.

There will be a Press Conference from there in 20 minutes......

I should really be going to bed soon.... rolz

But hey, !! The good news is tomorrow is Tuesday !!!

I have been watching the news..it is so sad Junie. I pray that you and your family are safe.

I am not amused that Nana decided to share her wind lol . It is so windy that we couldn't even light the woodstove. I am guessing that there will be damage to roofs and trees by the end of the day for a few people.

Tina, I stock up as well when things go on sale, which isn't very often here. The prices we pay for food here is ridiculous. Ground beef is $7 a pound...I should have kept my cattle.

G'morning breakfast

Thanks, Sunny. I am fine, as are my DD's & the grands. I am worried about my DH and then Emily's Husband. Chris will be fine, once he gets to work....but the trip there and then home is what I am concerned about. Same with Rod/

Back when our Freezer died, Rod said we did not need a new one, well I said we did and we got one..
I buy on sale too....THAT is why the sale meat is something I buy. The grocery I shop at has not raised their meat prices 'yet', but in Edwardsville (a town of say 25 to 35,000 20 minutes to the south-west) lean burger is around $6.98 a pound....For burger, really ?? WE will become vegetarians yet if this keeps up. nono

...Keep warm, Sunny...

Good morning. I am trying to catch up on the news. I guess some LA protesters closed down one of the freeways overnight. I do not understand why people destroy their own neighborhoods when these things go down.
Yes, Sunny, ground beef is pushing $5 a pound here. Butter is about the same. It is sad and something I had hoped to never see. I am praying it gets better and not worse. But preparing for the worst. I wish you had been able to keep your cattle also.
I have no major plans for today. I will do whatever comes up and spend some playtime with my boy.

I hope the economy gets better as well. But I do not expect prices to go down. Why would businesses take less $$ for their goods when the public have already paid more... badday
I paid $3.99 a pound for my butter today. I guess I was happy with that.

Our gas is down to $2.95 now

Hope for a better price in a week.
Business like to get the stuff off the shelves before the year end.. I know autos have to be sold or they have to pay something for keeping them each month.

Good afternoon. I paid a little more than a dollar less for my butter yesterday, Carol. And about the same for my fill-up in my tank on Thursday. I am grateful for these opportunities. I worry for our future. And why I stock up as much as I can while I can.
Today was pretty laid back. Ted and I played some and put together puzzles. I picked up some stuff around the house and moved it where it was supposed to go. Dishes and other things got done. Trash got removed. Life is good.

If I remember my gas was $2.89 a gallon here today. I paid a bit less a few days ago when I filled up my tank. I will be trying to make it last until Friday as that is pay day. We shall see.

I cleaned out 2 bedroom drawers tonight. I had hoped to get the contents of both drawers into one, so I could put linens into the newly emptied one--I had no such luck. why

I am now on my 3rd load of clothes.
Tomorrow will be more cleaning and then after supper I will be baking my cakes for Thursday.

Well, time to myself is why I think I stay up at night. Even when I am putting clothes in & out of the washer, I have down time in between cycles. BUT thanks the good thoughts are appreciated.

Good morning...I had a good day yesterday. My Christmas shopping is finished and my deep freezer is full. A blessing on both counts.

Today I have to pick up grandbaby from her weekly sleepover with her mom then head off to meetings at the pre-school. Apparently there will be specialists there for everything to address any concerns or matters.

Hoping you all have a good day ahead.

Good Morning !!

I wish my Shopping was done. You are one lucky person, Sunny.

I like that all the specialist will be in one place, ready for you. THAT is wonderful. I hope it all goes well.

Sadly I have been awake since 5:30. I do not think that 5 hrs. sleep is going to get it today--oh well, I have done it before.

More cleaning and some baking will be on todays agenda .

Good morning. I am up way too early today. I will be napping later.
Those kind of meetings are helpful when you need them, Sunny. There are a lot of them involved with special ed kids here. Those have been nice for Teddy and I.
I hope everyone has good weather for their holiday plans. I am supposed to be about mid 70's today.

Happy Thanksgiving all,

It's my usual doing as much ahead as I can day... one pie down and another almost ready to do.. House is done as much as it is going to be... it's nice having Joe here to be my running up and down stairs to bring stuff from basement storage area...

It doesn't seem possible the baby is ready for preschool... but then I am having problems realizing our Timothy is going to be in high school next year... time sure does fly....

Well off to go make some lemon meringe pie... and brown onion and garlic , celery for the dressing.... then turkey will go in oven I think...

You are cooking your turkey today, Nana?
Good second morning here. Ted and I went out. I wanted cash from the bank and a few store items. I picked up 6 more pounds of butter for under $3 a pound to tuck into the freezer. I don't plan on going out before Sunday or Monday?
I am going to make a cheesecake. And bake up some sweet potatoes for tomorrow. Not sure what else I'll dive into besides a nap today. My morning was way too early.

I was wondering about that too, Tina (the turkey being done today)

I have Valarie's rom cleaned and the laundry done. I have the silverware cleaned & in there boxes (wrong word I know) all that is left in the kitchen is mopping the floor & that will be done tonight right before bed.

This afternoon I will bake & make my cake & peel my potatoes.
Tonight I will measure the ingredients for the potato casserole. and the pie. In the morning I will make the pie and then the potatoes. The cranberry salad is thawed.

I am moving right along.

How will you keep your peeled potatoes until you cook them up tomorrow, Carol? If I ever peeled taters, they needed cooking very soon to keep them from browning/oxidizing.

After you peel & cut them, you just put them in a bowl or pot, then cover them with water & pop them in the fridge. when you want to cook them, just drain off the cold water, add fresh & boil as usual. I do it all the time. It saves so much time...

I was frosting my cake to take & I ran out of boughten icing.
So, when Rod came home, I had him take me to the grocery to buy some more. Well, it seems that the brand I bought Monday had 12 ounces of frosting where the one I usually buy has 16 ounces. Shows you how often I buy icing... I will not be buying that brand again, no matter how good it tastes. nono

I guess I will make my pie later tonight so it can get cold.
That will leave the potatoes for in the morning.

Good morning all.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your family kissie

We are having a snow storm at the moment...which I won't complain about because it is an excuse to stay home and finish making my meat pies. I cooked and mixed my meat last night. Just need to make my dough and fill and freeze.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am going to do some cooking today. But not be a slave to my kitchen either. It is going to be a lovely day up into the 80's. Then we are to drop over the weekend. I am looking forward to the promised rain.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all as well.

We just got home from seeing my MIL. We took pieces of an DD's house. They are going to bring their son to spend the nght with us. And no, I have no idea why they didn't just send him home with us. Although I think they may have trying to be helpful so we could go visit my MIL in peace.

I will be playing with Luke tonight then go to bed..so if I do not get back in

Good Night to everyone.
