Good morning. I think I will be wrapping gifts too. I still need to buy a salad spinner for one gift though. My oldest daughter wants one. And I keep forgetting to look for one.

A Salad spinner...where will you find that, Tina---I have not seen one in years---do you have a bad bath & beyond close by???

I know I am old but I miss the days when hardware stores carried all of that kind of stuff...one could walk in & get just what you wanted/needed for the kitchen.

I just finished touching up and spraying with sealer a ceramic snowman for my sister to give to my niece. There are 4 of them, but she wants them red and you have to give red like 4 coats...so where I could have the set done, I only have one done (well there are finishing touches to be done after it dries a few days, ..but hey that will not take long. Next week I will see if I can do another one...
oops..I need to bring home some of my chalks...note to self....

Well, off to wrap now..wavy

I actually got onto Amazon and ordered one. If it does not arrive before Christmas, it will shortly after. I just finally delivered her birthday gifts from Jonni this week. Her birthday was in July. She must be getting used to IOU's from her siblings by now.

sounds good...and I thought today was the free shipping day and that it would have been promised to arrive before Christmas. I saw this about online orders across the board. why

We ordered something for my SIL last Sunday. it said it would get here by the 22nd...(I need it the 21st)
well it is supposed to arrive today. prayers

I sure hope so...

and I hope yours arrives sooner than expected as well.

Yeah, I ordered some toys for Teddy on the 10th. They are supposed to be here today. But when I check on Amazon, the order is still being prepared, not yet shipped. The salad spinner I ordered today is supposed to be here the 24th. We will see. Usually Amazon is very fast. But it is Christmas season so it is probably running late.

I got my salad spinner from Tupperwear. Use it a lot.

We have a lot of December birthdays too. Little Johnny, Aubry, Jesse Rae (niece) and both of her children have December birthdays.

2 years ago once of my nieces asked me to take care of her little baby for 3 days while they went on vacation. I wouldn't do it which I think made her mad and she hasn't asked me since. #1 I had only seen the baby once, #2 the baby wasn't sleeping through the night, #3 the baby was breast fed and she was going to leave pumped breast milk. I may look dumb but I'm not.

I ate lunch at school with Aubry today. Those little people are so cute.

Sounds like fun, Sheri. I am sure Aubry enjoyed showing off her grandmother.

I hear you, Sheri. I would not have done that either....

I hope that Amazon comes thru for us both. UPS has not been here yet, and my gift was supposed to be delivered today. BUT I do know that the UPS drivers drive until their Truck is empty...so there is hope yet...

I wrapped all of the kids things, and set all of my paper, ribbon, etc. out. I left it set, and I will continue wrapping after supper tonight.

I had put beef in the slow cooker to cook while I did other things. I have just put cut up mushroom in the pot & will son put the noodles on to boil--then supper is ready.

I didn't wrap a single thing today. Maybe tomorrow. I am waiting on my oven to preheat so I can toss in my cornbread.

This coming Saturday is your family celebration, Carol? And Sunday for your close family?
We will get together here early on Christmas morning. My older daughter is going out to lunch with other family members.

Mmmm corn bread.

Good morning all...we got close to two feet of the white stuff. I am up early so I can go shovel off the roof while grandgirl is still sleeping. Arguing with a 4 yr old that wants to help with everything is not my plan for today.

I think an early Christmas is a good idea Junie...these days it seems to be the norm with so much family that are too busy. I have been trying to convince my family to do a Christmas Eve meal so that the day of is easier on me.

Good morning. I hope you can convince your family to do do something that takes the stress off of everyone, Sunny. It will be small and relaxed here.
Today I need to go out and buy some bread again. My family is going through it like crazy.
Right now I am waiting for my fire to rekindle. I has nearly gone out overnight. And it is chilly in here.

About the early Christmas...Yes Tina. the days you have are right...
See, My MOM's Birthday is the 17th. We would always put up the (real) tree that night. so as time progressed, we (my Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother & our families would take turns hosting Christmas Eve so we would be together but then the separate families would still have Christmas Day to themselves.

Well over time and with families growing and such, we now have a "Dudley Christmas" the weekend before Christmas, for the same reasons.....Well with Kids living spread out I decided NOT to do our party on Christmas Day. (Val & Brian would drive up on the 23rd or the 24th & stay until after gift opening) Emily & Chris would come over about 8:30 a.m. Xmas day with their PJ's still on, it was such fun for me.
So, this year, Sunday it is so that Val & Brian can start their own tradition on Christmas Day and Emily began hers last year since Luke was older.

So since Val, Brian & Henry will already be home this weekend, we will have "Our" Christmas on Sunday the 21st.

Mary (my SIL's Mom) and I invited ourselves over to Emily's for Christmas Morning. I have no idea what we are doing for that meal. But oh well...It will get figured out..

That is a very good explanation. And a wonderful way to celebrate and allow family to celebrate the season, together and apart. We used to get the tree and decorate on my birthday as well. But I always have to take it down alone and it doesn't seem as much fun any more. maybe in a year or two.....
I went out an shopped for bread, mostly. I remembered the bread and eggnog and got an apple pie. But I did forget to pick up the chili I planned on heating for dinner over cornbread tonight. I think I have some hiding away in a corner somewhere. I hope. If not, I have plenty of food here.
I am going to bake something today. I just don't know what yet.

Junie, that's a good way to celebrate...at least family gets to be together.

They are calling for a storm Christmas Day here and Boxing day so my family might have no choice in the matter. DH is a plow driver and would be gone on a 16 hr shift on each day.

My roofs are shoveled, the driveway is cleared and the house is cleaned and I am ready to start supper....well unless Tina decides to share her chili. grin

I did find chili, a gallon of it. So tonight will be that with some roasted sweet taters and cornbread. I have plenty to share. Leftovers will be made into chili mac topped with shredded cheddar and apple salad on the side followed by pumpkin pie. So nice to have a couple of dinners planned.

No body move. All the laundry is done. :)

Colt is on the way here for Aubry's birthday party. Then tomorrow we will have Christmas here. Sunday they will have Christmas at their dads. Monday we are all going to Stone Mountain, GA where there is a 50% chance of rain for the entire week. So much for tubing in the snow. Brother.

Well today my sister said that her BIL watched my great niece (the one I would not watch) on Wednesday and she &her CDH came straight home after going to my nephew's graduation form boot camp so they could watch her on Thursday. I am not feeling like a very good Auntie right now... fidget

Going to bed sooner rather than later...

It is nice to go to out the door and look at the lovely snow capped mountains around me. Nice to look down and not see snow on the ground around my feet.
Sweet dreams all.

Ah yes, I imagine it sure is. According to our weather forecast this weekend is to be nice but the next week, not so much. So for me I guess it is a good thing that we are having our Christmases a bit early this year...

The good news is I am dpone wrapping. and done with most of my cleaning. Clothes in the dryer and a last load in the washer...The washer load can be dried tomorrow morning. I will also need to clean the guest bath tomorrow but my things are all moved out of it, so at least that part is done. AND, TaDa,my Valarie is also staying Sunday night.

The bad news is they were sick this week again...I guess it is allergies, or at least I hope so. Today she slept all afternoon instead of baking a few nut rolls. {{good thing that I ordered 2 from the bakery then, isn't it ???}}

well in say an hour or so I will get to bed I am sure...

Go to bed, Carol.
I was sleeping pretty well, Then the phone rang. My daughter stuck her head into the room to say sorry. I wish she would buy a new cell phone already.

sorry that you got woke up, Tina. I am also glad that your DD knew enough to say she was sorry to you. And yes, I will go to bed now--my load in the dryer is done and hung up too.

Sweet Dreams everyone...and I hope that you are able to go to sleep once again, Tina.

Good morning.
Yes, I went back to sleep just fine. After walking around and making sure the fire was stoked and the doors and windows were locked. Drinking a glass of water, checking that the net wasn't broken. It was all good. I went right back to sleep. And slept 'til my normal wake up time.
The sun is rising and I am about ready for a cup of coffee. The dog has been out for his morning ramble.
All is well in the west.

Are you guys up all night or is my time on here wrong? GO TO SLEEP CRAZY PEOPLE. We had a blast at Aubry's birthday party. Colby said playing with Colt should be an Olympic sport. It's been raining here all day. Colt will be a crazy boy after being cooped up inside. Rain still predicted for Stone Mountain, GA. I'm gonna keep hoping and praying that changes.

Will & Grace is funny. Wonder why I never watched it when it was new.

I was up in the night about midnight my time, Sheri. But I went back to bed and slept well the rest of the night.
I hope Colt finds something to calm and occupy himself.
