Those nights are not so good, Tina, but as you point out there is an upside to it. So yay for warm houses....I envy you your wood-warmed house.

WE are off to see my MIL. I am sure she thinks we forgot her...

I hope she recognized you, Carol. And understood that you both have been under the weather and not wanting to share.
It has been a puttering time this morning. Got pork chops in the crockpot. I have sweet potatoes to bake to go with. Dishes are done and ashes removed from the wood stove. I carried cold ashes up the hill to empty. Just puttering with this and that today. May start some laundry in a bit. After a nap.

We told her several times that we were sick over Christmas, I hope she understood that.

Emily & Chris were not home for the day. hopefully we will see them tomorrow

I hope you can get your Luke and Micah time in tomorrow.

Supper is done & cleaned up. I made hamburger soup.
I need to go now & see what is on TV for me to watch this evening...

Good morning all.

I was beyond busy yesterday with people in and out and then gave the house a good cleaning later in the day. I was so tired that I slept in this morning, that never happens.

Now I am watching the snow fall..it is needed so that it can stick to the ice out there.

I slept well and long. I am getting my fire restarted now. It is cold outside and cool inside. Brrrr....

I am glad that you both slept well. Sleep is always a good thing. I did too but Rod woke me just a few ago. It is Sunday you know....

I put all of the leftovers in my fridge into the crock with some organic free-range chicken broth. Soup! lots of veggies and some various meats including bacon. Trying to decide if I should add the zucchini with tomatoes I have or leave those for a different meal. I'm the only one that really likes them. May save them to add to my own later. Or heat and eat on the side. Trying to decide on either biscuits or adding biscuit type dumplings to the soup. If it were just for me, dumplings. But for my kids, not so much.
What is everyone else having?

That sounds wonderful Tina, since I didn't cook Christmas dinner I have no leftovers.. so we are having lasagna leftovers and other odds and ends... still not feeling quite right so am trying to stick to tea and toast for now anyway... leaves more good stuff for hubby anyway...

Well I have been really lazy today... so am going to head up to a hot bath with some epson salt and lavender.. see if it will help me feel more normal again... oh yes we are freezing here again- hubby just brought in wood in case we need the fireplace to keep warm... snow still on ground and we are to get some more.

It is Sunday...so...We had Frozen Pizza.

There is leftover ground beef soup, but I can eat that for my lunches over the next day or 2.

it is a sunshiny day here today...cold but sunny.

Good morning. It is 41* outside. And not so warm inside because my fire went out in the night. I have gotten that started up again. So grateful I have pinecones to help start fires.
I will probably go out for more bread and some fresh fruit today. But not sure exactly when.

Gee Tina...could you go by the Pharmacy for me when you are out ?? I should go but I just really do not want to...LOL

I still have not budged. Well, I have fed the fire and did the dishes that magically appear overnight. Walked and fed the dog. Made up my budget pages for January. Fed Teddy and I breakfast. No morning is completely idle.

sadly, other than ordering a new 2015 day calendar and calling my insurance company about a claim that is now settled, I have not done much.
I really need to get up & start working around here.

My older daughter gave me a 2015 calendar for Christmas. I forgot to put one on my list and it was a surprise. A pleasant one. I use a desk blotter sized calendars in the back of a door that is open most of the time. I can close the door to refer to it and have plenty of room to make notes on it. I might be given other calendars that I hang up but that huge one is my go-to all of the time.
I am actually debating between taking a nap or beginning dinner.

back 15 years or so ago, my sister gave me the "Life's little Instructions" calendar for Christmas...I have been buying one every year since...I love to read the daily "instructions".

I also have a monthly calendar on the Fridge for another reference...

I never shopped today nor did I nap. I am so looking forward to my bed tonight. I will shop tomorrow. I must because we are out of bread now.

Good morning. I had a helper who put wood on he stove in the wee hours. So I woke to a warmer house this morning. So nice after the last couple of chilly starts to my days.
So I will head out in another couple of hours to get my shopping done before the rains roll in today. There will be snow in the pass above me and the roads will get nasty with people who do not know how to navigate weather. And the pass gets heavy traffic with people on their way to Vegas for New Year's Eve. So nice to stay home on a day like that.

Well, I could DO it for you...as for paying for it....

I am off to ceramics now

Yes it is wonderful....and after ceramics, we ALL go to a local restaurant & eat lunch together. We stay there until 2 and visit while we eat. It is a great way to spend the day.

I've got to make a quick run to the grocery store in the morning and to get my nails done. Shouldn't take long at all. We have church tomorrow night so since we're out anyway we're going to a party. We usually don't go out on New Years Eve but Johnny won't miss church so off we'll go.

Yay Sheri! Do you think that Johnny will make it until midnight?

We are cold! it is -7 right now... no snow yet or not a lot- it's been spitting off and on all day..
Joe went to our fav resturant for 5 doz tamales for our New Years... it's quite a ways from us and took him over 2 hours to get there and back... city streets are still full of snow... and everything is icy...

I have been watching a British version of Sherlock Holmes on Netflix today.. set in modern times... lazy day for me... did all the laundry yesterday.. and cleaned some.. going to take down the Christmas stuff and tree tomorrow and get house back to normal I think...

Well off to get some dinner... soup sounds good to me tonight- making the shrimp we didn't have for Christmas Eve for dinner tomorrow..

The only reason we won't go to church is that Rod has to work tomorrow. As far as this house is concerned tomorrow will just be another day...why I even have a meeting scheduled with The PTB where my MIL Lives...
Now I have NO idea why they scheduled a meeting tomorrow but they did, so I will go....not that Rod would be going even if he were available...

The only difference will be that Rod has Thursday off.
