Me too Bill... wonder who is running the city now....?

Our stores are clear of Christmas stuff too... or very little left.... about 2 years ago Carrie and I bought up most of the stuff her store had marked way down after Christmas I have all sorts of stuff stashed,

I found a deal on chicken thighs too,, not quite as good but 1.18 a lb is about as good as it gets for bone in ones here.. so skinned them and put them 4 to a bag... will make some good dinners for us... Joe is sticking a pizza in over for us tonit... I forgot to eat lunch today and now I am starving ...

We took 2 of the boys to see the last Hobbit movie last night- they loved it..we liked it too.. it has been a yr since we went to movies.. there is now a bar on the opposite side of the lobby from the candy concession.. and all the seats recline.. with holders for sodas and room to walk by with out them having to be lowered... all the comforts of home!

Went to Sams today and did that shopping , waiting to go to reg grocery for tomorrow- it's senior day and 10% off is a good deal cause I buy most of my meat there for the month, every little bit helps...

Well I am going to go take my laundry upstairs and get it put away... and read my ipad book for a while...

have a good evening all.... hope the weather doesn't get to cold for you all ... we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow but not to much they said.... I am over winter now... want spring to come early..

Nana

It is supposed to stay dry and in the 50s for the next few days. There was a lot of damage down in the valleys, but nothing here except lots of water. Its a shame there isn't some way of sending all our excess water down to the drought areas....

Hi Bill, Hi, Cindy, nice to see you. wavy

Christmas is pretty much gone here too. I did not even go looking at the Christmas sales....I too have things left from past years. I collect Christmas boxes & bags every year after we all open out gifts & reuse them. Like Nana says, every little bit helps. I even have tags back form when the girls were small. Using those are part of MY Christmas.

I am freezing here..although the gauge says it is 21 outside, It feels colder to me. The weather lady says if we think today was cold, just wait for tomorrow.......Oh Goody.....NOT !!

I think tonight is a Popcorn night...

Yes. Southern Cal is criss crossed with viaducts and pipes where we have bought water from northern Cal. And imported from the Colorado river, etc. But this drought is far reaching.
I am glad you are drying out a bit, Bill.
Good to see you pop in, Cindy.
Did you get to go to ceramics this morning, Carol?

Hi wavy
No The guy who has the Ceramics class called it off. So, since it is just 4 of us, we all got together at one of out houses.
Thankfully we all had things home to paint, so the 3 of us just packed up our stuff & went to the last ladies house.

I got by but I have decided to pack up about 1/2 of my paints & bring them home, so the next time this happens I will be better prepared.

That is ceramics even if not at the usual place, Carol. And has to be refreshing to the soul.

yes it surely is. There was a post on FB that said something to the effect that taking 1 day a week for you was good for many reasons, lowering a person's BP being one I remember.

Any excuse that works I say....

I take a couple hours at a time once in awhile. More than once a week. I find that enough. Other things I do more for fun than being productive are like cooking. I actually enjoy driving, too. I unwind in small doses throughout the day or week as I need.

Good morning...I missed the 'talkfest' last night, it was nice to see Bill and Cindy stop in kissie

I used to have Christmas things stocked up but am now clean out so every little bit I can get on clearance will help. Our local little pharmacy will sell out this week coming, they hold back on their sales.

Today I have a few errands to run. I am so glad a few of you get time to yourself...at this point in my life it is a rare thing. We live in such a rural area that not much goes on and there is no place to go. I can't wait for spring.

Good Morning ! It is 8*F here, and the wind is howling. I so do not want to go out in this, but I must, as I have a Dentist appt. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

Since I will be out, I think I will go to the Dollar store & see if anything is left there on their Christmas sales.

Keep warm everyone...(or try anyway)

Good morning. I know that I would call and reschedule a dental appointment in your weather conditions. Carol. Have they cancelled school in your area? Then it is time to be off the road unless it is an emergency. Keep safe.
You keep safe also, Sunny. The weather looks horrendous all over continent but in Cal. and lower Fla.

Well, I guess so, Sunny. Some have said here that the kids now a days here are being babied. They say "when we were young" we were told to bundle up & get out in it.... Actually "they" were right...we were...oh well...

Sunny ,

They used to close schools here in our county when it snowed a lot or got to cold... well then we got a superintendent who lived in Alaska and they rarely close schools not up in the mountains for any reason... if it gets really cold we would keep kids home anyway...

Carrie let Nicoli start public school again today... they agreed to give him a 504 plan and meet his needs,, so hopefully this will work out for him.. he was so excited to get to go back... he hasn't had a full blown attack since Sept so (crossing fingers) he is over the worst of it and as long as meds work will be fine going to school.. just hope he does well with this.... so now we have Derek during day.. and are on pick up duty after school is out..

Well now I have to go get something done ... did our fresh stuff shopping this morning ... it was cold.. so glad now to be be home and warm..

Nana

Ok..now it happened to me. I KNOW I answered you Tina. Oh well.

Your Chowder sounds yummy, Tina. today I froze several servings of my Turkey soup. I figure the sooner I move on to another soup the sooner I will have a variety of soups in the freezer, for me to eat whenever I wish.....

I am soon off to sleep. G'nite, keep warm & sweet dreams.
