Sounds good.

I spent the day cleaning and such, finally cleaned out the deep freezer then headed to the butcher to re stock it....it was the most I have ever spent there. The price of meat is awful. boohoo

I came home and started shoveling snow around...I still have about 4 ft in the yard everywhere and banks of about 8 ft in places.

That is too much snow, Sunny. I am sorry.
Sounds like a good day, Carol. I hope you have more fun with your grandsons tomorrow. And that it is not storming.

Tina, thanks...I hope it is not storming either.
I do not have to leave the house until 11, so there is hope that all will be well.

Maybe, if it is very wet, it will not be a good idea to garden?
I am heading to bed now. Sweet dreams everyone.

well, you would be right--but for the fact that I told her NOT to add the second half of soil to her raised bed until after the storms, so the predicted heavy rains would not pack it down.

So she will add the second half of the needed soil, which will be dry, & then plant some.

I did tell her if she would wait until the first part of May(which would be after our frost date) I would buy her some already grown plants....I got turned down.

I am soon headed to bed as well.

That was a nice offer to make Junie.

Usually our snow is down to a foot or two by now, we always get more but only a few inches at a time....this year it has decided to stay longer. The last few years the snow has overstayed it's welcome lol

The good news is that we are supposed to get a few warmer days this week, that'll put the melt on.

I have a sick grandgirl again today, fevers and upset stomach....ever since she has started pre-school it is a weekly issue.

Good morning. Oh, I am so sorry about your grandchild, sunny. That is the way it goes though. Children share more than learning.
I wish for everyone to have a good day.

Oh, Sunny. so sorry for the sick granddaughter. But yes, it seems they share much more than learning, even if Luke does think his mom takes him to play 5 days a week. lol

My Niece's 2 little girls. 5 & 7 are sick all the time. one brings home something from school, then shares it with her sister & they get well & start over again. I guess people just send their kids to school 7 day care sick now a days. sad really.
I know I was ill a lot as a child, but I do not remember my sister or brother being sick that much...

errands today & then if I am lucky I will go see my grandson's afterwards.

They are probably taking a break from their northward bound trip, Carol. It is fun though. I hope they are not hiding from a big storm expected.
I got Teddy to school and stopped for a couple of items on the way home. But I ended up with much more. (Of course.) Getting back ups for my back ups.

Good Afternoon all,

Been running around so much lately... getting the paperwork done for the house refi.. even just emailing stuff to the people takes time...

Carrie is finally feeling better.. almost back to normal , she is so happy about it... I am so glad too... was scared it wouldn't get better for her.. you hear so much about infections they can't cure easily anymore... thank goodness we aren't a family that takes antibiotics at the drop of the hat... One good thing about her being off so long was the boys are almost done with the online school program a month early... even with the time Nicoli lost being ill himself...

We are supposed to be getting some rain/snow the end of this week... we need it... but not looking forward to it... I would like to plant flowers soon too but will wait till Mother's Day.. that's our last frost date .. Joe has been working on cleaning out old stuff from the basement... has the back of the Tahoe loaded with donation stuff..Carrie has a bag too of outgrown boys stuff... he will go get that and take it along when he goes... We are eating leftovers for dinner tonit.. last of ham , will make a casserole out of it... working on cleaning out freezer this month too... then will start shopping the meat sales... every week some kind of meat is on sale... so will add a little to food budget for that and fill it back up... hopefully SIL will get his elk or deer or whatever it is he is going hunting for this year... we get a share of that if he does...

Well off to go start dinner... and get the vacuuming done upstairs...

Nana

Good morning, so glad that you are feeling better Nana.

I think I will make another trip to the doctor today with grandgirl...this bug she has just leaves for a few days and is back again. They need to bring back the 'tonics' we were given as kids.

Tina, I have heard on the news that our produce prices will take a big jump because of the drought in your state. I plan on backing up my back ups as well with pure fruit and veggie juices as they go on sale. I'll put them in the freezer, it should work.

Ceramic day for Junie as well, what are you working on?

Yes, ceramic day !!

I am still working on my nieces Snowmen. I kept forgetting to bring my one snowman to ceramics to copy the eyes. Today is the day. Then I have one more box bunny for my mantle for Easter. I had it cleaned & ready to fire in February. The owner of the shop just does not feel the need to fire our green ware is seems.
I also bought a new ceramic 3 piece fence that looks like it was made of stones. I have one done in browns..this one will be done in greys.

if I shop in Edwardsville, (to the south) meat & produce prices are higher than if I shop in Staunton & Litchfield (to the north) I try not to shop to the south. Soon we will all be living on as little as possible.
I guess it will take care of the weight issue though, huh?
I can remember when a whole supper's meat would be under $2.00. I guess I am old... why

Good luck at the Drs., Sunny.

Good morning. I am so sorry that you g-daughter is not getting better. The tonics we were given had a sound base in science for the most part. Most of them, anyway. I'm learning a little about homemade tonics now.
It is not just fruits and veggies going up. We grow vast fields of animal feeds and animals that eat them. So the meat and cheese and things are also jumping up out there. Do whatever you can to eat healthy and keep safe.
Yay for ceramics day! I hope the weather or something else doesn't prevent it.
I'm ready for Tuesday. Bring it on.

Yes it was good to me today. sorta sunny and dry. It was in the low 60's. you needed a sweater or jacket--but just for "extra", you know what I mean ??? I would have survived without one...luckily I had a jacket in the car with me.

Well, I've figured out dinner. I have chicken thighs in the crock pot with onions and spices. I'll serve those with either baked potatoes or sweet potatoes And some kind of vegetable/pasta side. Leftovers will feed my salad craving. Chicken will be a nice addition.
Now to start on the next thing.

Another day above the freezing point and more snow has melted. Tina, we are spared any flooding as long as the temps do not raise too fast.

I feel like a short order cook at meal times Junie, today DH had potatoes and pork chops, grand girl had a different kind of potatoes with chicken and I opted for a salad with chicken as well. Fussy kids are the worst.

I felt like I couldn't afford picky kids. I cooked pretty kid friendly things to begin with. If they could find anything on the table to please them, they didn't have to eat. I didn't have a dessert item everyday so they would have to wait for the next meal. But I baked healthy items and had plenty of fruits around.
Until Teddy. His eating issues are very real and not just a preference. But what is left is healthy and easy to incorporate into meals.
Now my kids are grown. I have food for them in the house. I fix meals and they can eat or not.

ah, my KIDS..well some things I cooked & they had to eat, or go hungry---some I didn't fix because they would not eat them... but generally they had to "try" a food first. Then if they didn't like it they could opt out. But I did not ever really become a short order cook...well except when I was doing weight watchers or something..then it was 2 meals...one for me & one for whomever was home at the time.

I am going to pack for our trip today. Then I will get things in order for Rod's eye appt. tomorrow.
We also have some shopping to do while at the eye place (at a local Wal-mart). I thought to save a trip & do the 2 at the same time.

Very sore & having trouble walking today.... why
I really need to get this cleared up. My gardens need tending.

OH MY< I am so sorry....

My Middle grandson (Henry) is going to be 1 next Monday (the 20th) so, the 18th Valarie & Brian are going to have a Birthday Party for him. We will go down early Saturday morning & then if she needs help I will help her.

We will come back later in the day on Sunday.

I have yet to figure out supper for tonight. I was going to have hamburgers & such tonight but I think that will be an easier meal for tomorrow night.

Birthday parties for grandson's are fun. I hope you don't have to work too hard.
We are going to have hamburgers.
