I have the simplest little by-the-minute phone I could find. It costs me under $7 a month for something I don't use and I have over a thousand minutes on it. But it may be there in an emergency for me. That is what it is for.
I'm getting a start on my laundry.

Well, my regular laundry is done. I have a boatload of towels for some reason. Not sure why there is more than usual.
I hope everyone weathers the storms that I am sending eastward.

I'm on Virgin Mobile's cheapest unlimited plan's, rarely use my cell; the number I give everyone rings my house and my cell at the same time, so it's only really used when I'm out.

$35/mo, which was acceptable when I was getting unlimited 4g, but Sprint upgraded their stuff, so their mobile network partners all have to upgrade their devices.

I'm waiting for Google to roll out their cellular service then moving to that, it's in Beta now and i'm on the waiting list, so hopefully they'll approve me.

I am confused over cell phones..it seems a monthly plan is cheaper here than pre-paid...and I can't even find any info on a pay-as-you-go set up.

Good morning. Happy Saturday. I'm gonna vegetate today. Unless I get struck by a busy mode.
I find the cell phones confusing also, Sunny. I do remember shopping at Virgin years ago and they didn't have service in my canyon. Not a good thing. They probably do now.
I settled on my prepaid phone because I don't use it. I really only need it for emergencies. I don't need it online or to take/send pictures. I put it in the car before I leave in the mornings. I bring it in and put it on the charger if it needs it in the afternoon. I have a $20 card I put into it every 3 months and those minutes add up and roll over. I don't even have the number memorized and I've had it for over 7 years.
I did use it last week when I picked up some metal in a tire on my way to school. To call Triple A. They came, filled it and followed me a couple miles away to my tire place where it was patched. The perils of living in the boondocks.

The main thing is to have communication abilities. I am happy with my land lines. My rotary phone was a lifesaver when we were without power a few times. I have my simple cell for out on the roads if there is an emergency. There aren't as many pay phones these days. I am comfortable with that.
I have gotten very little done today so far. I am off to gather up those towels and start some laundry.

We lost power today because of a car accident...I am glad to see it back on.

Tina, that's the kind of cell phone set up I want to get...I'll have to call our local provider to get any headway. I will also pretend that it is for an elderly grandparent so that they do not rogue me into any fancy plans.

I have worked outside most of the day...I am so tired it's not funny, that never happens to me. Either I'm getting old or sick lol

I don't know what's available in Canada, Sunny. I got mine in Walmart but they are available all sorts of places as well. I didn't need a 'service provider'. I just bought the phone and it came with a charger and a car charger for about $20. But I've bought a couple since that the price has gone up to $30 and most recently $40 for my son. I bought the cards for about $20 each. I got home and charged the phone up if it was needed and then called the number that came with the phone (house phone). I gave them my info (name, phone #, sim card #, etc) and they activated it. I entered my first phone card. It reminds me when I am running down on time and need to put in another card. It's pretty easy.
When I have talked to a provider about them they want to put you under an expensive contract and sell you an expensive phone. Not for me. Even the ones for the elderly.

Well, the prepaid and "cheap no-name" providers are virtual providers, they rent space from larger providers:
MetroPCS - TMobile
Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile - Sprint
Google Fi - Sprint AND TMobile

Then you get to the tracphone provider, they run TracFone, NET10 Wireless, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, SafeLink Wireless, Telcel América, Simple Mobile, and Page Plus Cellular over various US carriers (Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, Sprint Corporation, T-Mobile US, and U.S. Cellular)

My phone is the 4s iPhone. It was great for a long time now it won't hold a charge. Johnny has a Samsung droid but I don't like it as well as an iphone.

Well off to bed now... will start up my vaporizer again- sure wish this cold would just go away... did get to sit outside and enjoy my yard for a few minutes yesterday,, rain is keeping my birdbath filled up.. got it for Mother's Day- it's stained glass with a butterfly and flowers.. so pretty... got 2 vases of flowers too and and azalea plant.. so pretty... all white...

Still have my candles lit for Carol... sure hope she is doing well....

It's nice to see Junie posting again kissie

Thanks for the phone info, it explains it so I know exactly what to look for.

Nana, you might need a steroid treatment to cure that cough....I did.

It is raining today...guess I'll tackle the indoors today.

Different strokes. And I do not feel that laundry is a chore. It is a joy to have clean bodies in clean bedding on a Sunday night. It is joyful to face a Monday with plenty of rest and ready for the week. I am grateful for the opportunity and the peace it brings me. I am happy to spend a little extra time with my special son on grooming and the games we make with it all.

I do both on Sunday. I go to church, go to see my MIL, out to eat, and then come home & do what needs to be done. Sometimes yard work, sometimes laundry. It just depends.

Hope you had a restful nite Carol.
each day will be easier.

I took my 80 year old sis out for dinner yesterday. Roast turkey. It was awesome. She was overjoyed..........It rained half a day an was nice the rest.

Guess Monday is lawn mowing day.......An I will probably go visit some graves this week. Hubbys ,parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers ......IN 2 different cemetarys........There was 10 of us an only 3 are still living. Plus brother in laws.......dead

However like they say, beats the alternative..... I am happy to do this for them. I put posies on all the graves.

Good morning. It is a school day for us. And I will get some shopping done. We will get more rain at the end of this week. It can rain like it has been, once a week, all summer long and it would be lovely. But still not touch our drought problems.

I'm glad to hear that you got some rest! I start my PT today too, hopefully they can do something for my back :/. Good luck!

I hope both of you do well with your PT.
I got Teddy to school and stopped at a store for a few items. I picked up my older son to come up and help around here. Ready to get cracking on some cooking for the week.
