Well my surgeon has once again changed his mind. NOW I can get up and walk with a walker. I cannot do any walking on my own though.

James, I hope that your therapy goes well todayz

That is great, Carol. I am happy for you. The more quickly you can comfortably move around, the better for all your muscles. They tend to lose tone so quickly.

Carol,
I agree... step by step you will recover nicely... moving is good for you whole body to recover...

We finally had a day without rain .. well at least after we got up... rained all night ... it's nice for our drought but sure gets old being cloudy every day.....supposed to snow tonit in the mtns and rain more here too,.will be nice to go to AZ. in June just to see the sun ...LOL!

We have a granddaughter graduating from high school the end of the this month- and Timba is graduating from 8th grade... just had two birthdays too.. Joseph turned 21.. and Timba turned 14.... how did they get so old! seems like they are all growing up so fast now..

Did our grocery shopping today... making chicken stew for dinner... will thicken it and make it into a chicken pot pie... will be nice in this colder than normal weather we are having... will be good with some biscuits...

Well off to start the stew and make the dough... have a good evening all....

Did my PT today, evidently my insurance only covers 4 visits; then we can apply for more and see if they'll allow it. Focus is on my shoulders and neck, evidently I have a lack of range of motion which is helping cause some of the pain. I have a list of exercises I'm supposed to do; after doing them at therapy earlier my whole body aches.

Carol, how long are they letting you be on your feet with the walker? Just basis necessities or did they even give you a limit?

We had Cub Scouts an hour after my PT, so we went to lowes and looked at flowers and got a rough idea of what I want to plant (I'm a sucker for dark Cala lillies); pretty much pushed Trey around in the cart and talked to him as I wandered aimlessly (he likes to lay down in the cart and "hide" from people, he's an amusing 9 year old).

I'm waiting for my night time pills to kick in, trying to relax.

Good morning. I hope everyone gets good benefits from their PT.
Glad it is raining on you and giving you a break from heavy labor, Sunny.
I am up too early and going back to bed for an hour or so.

Well great, I had a large post that just simply went away.

James, I can OK only use the walker to stand from the wheelchair to the toilet. About 3 steps. I was under the impression that I was supposed to be lifted to standing, but not many people do.
I am alsp supposed To get 2 hours of therapy a day. I think I may get 1 hour. The one
Lady is real helpful and has given me arm strengthening exercises for my
LEFT arm. I am concerned of it as I broke it back in 2010 or so. I do not want to strain it, what with all of my weight supposedly to go on my arms not !y legs.

I would be very happy if all of you would share your gardening adventures with me so I could live vicariously thru you guys this year.

Carol, I figured it was probably just for the bare nessessities; when I was a kid that's about all they wanted me to do, though we where in "4 to a room" rooms, so they where pretty big, so a jaunt to the potty ended up taking forever, lol.

I originally went to lowes to look for white Cala lillies, but (as I said earlier) I'm a sucker for super dark ones, which where all I seemed to find; lol.

I need to get some top soil and several Cala's, but after PT I hardly felt like walking around, so it was more of a "window shop adventure"/"hang out with Trey" day; he seemed to like it.

School gets out on June 9th, they where smart this year, Field Day is on the 9th as well, so parents don't just look at that last Mon/Tues all "what're they going to learn, they can stay home" lol.

I get Bree tonight from her moms, this week I have her Tuesday 6p-Fri at Noon and her mom has her for a birthday visit until 8, then I get her for Memorial Day Weekend, then my normal visitation (for next week) is Sun 6p-Tues 6p, so I'll pretty much have her for a week with an 8 hour interruption; so lots of daddy time for little miss (we split her visitation 50/50, 3 days one week, 4 the next, until she starts 2nd grade, then it's week on week off alternating on Sundays).

Ted's last day of school is on the 28th. The he turns around and starts his last summer session on the 3rd of June (5 days off). He is off all of July. I think the next year of school (his last) starts on Aug 3.
I am home after dropping grumpy at school. And filling my tank @ $3.98 a gallon. I am going to clean up a bit around here before time to pick him up.

The cheapest around here is $2.87.

They get from June 9th until Sept 8th I believe (usually the weekday after Labor Day) for Summer Break, then he'll be in 5th grade.

Sadly I have no idea what gas costs around me now.
My Grandson ends his school year either this Friday or it was possibly last Friday. I miss the kids being in school. I liked it when the kids were young and were home.

I during the school year I miss being able to just go out and do things during the day; parks, the zoo, going downtown and hitting up random food carts, going to the beach, etc.

Dyslexia struck up there. I paid $3.89 for gas today. Not $3.98.
It has been a busy, long day. And I am tired.
The summer program at Teddy's school is voluntary. But I choose to send him. He likes school in general and it is a short day of only 3 hours. And more relaxed in all ways academic. So more like a summer camp than school. Only with air conditioning. The month of July off is enough. This is his last year of school then I'll have to find something else to entertain him.

Good morning...I am so glad to see Junie back in to post kissie

It's great that you have 50/50 parenting Gremelin...your little girl is so lucky yo have a dad like you.

Tina, did 'Grumpy' get better when you picked him up or did he just have a bad day?

We had bad thunderstorms last night...I am wondering if there was damage anywhere in our province?

Tina, I was reading back last night and I saw where you said thatyou wish you could do something to help. Well just being on the site trying to answer questions & being around is a great help. I can do little more than sit here & post. It makes me feel god to know that you are here.

I am currently waiting for PT to be here. LOL

I am willing to do that, Carol. I just know that you're fretting over what isn't getting done at home or the other duties you have taken on (as we all would be). That is where being a virtual friend sucks. You can't help with the simplest tasks. It is frustrating.
And I am whining about me. winky How's the food there?

Tina, you are right about yucky times of being a virtual friend. All is well until one of us could really use more than a few comforting/supporting words. I like to think we all understand this. I really do appreciate the wonderful thoughts though. They do mean a lot.
I do not think you are whining about you, and besides, I like to think we are here for each other no matter what we need.

The food is getting better. I am on a low sodium diet, which sucks, but hey, it could be worse after all. I am learning to call the kitchen here and make substitutions occasionally, when I can, so it all works out.

I can walk 150 feet at one time now, so as long as I have a walker, my life is much easier now.

I HAD A SHOWER ! ! YAY

Yay! A shower! And 150 feet, I'm impressed. Really.
I made a full dinner for a late lunch here. The rest of the evening will be snacking or sandwiches or the like.

Hi all,

I am impressed to Carol.. it will get easier every day... Yay for getting to shower too.. that always makes you feel better...

Made our final plans for our Az trip today- so looking fwd to being away... and seeing some sun.. I swear it has rained or snowed every day for a month here... there is more snow in the mtns too- one of the resorts up there stayed open 3 weeks longer than usual...

My son is having a family party this Sat for his step daughter's high school graduation.. we are hoping it doesn't rain for it... or at least warms up a little bit... been in the 40's here most days... really weird for us...

Well I am off to clean up the kitchen, made a beef stew for dinner tonit.. love crock pot cooking... then going to head up to bed and my vaporizer ... cough isn't as bad but still cough when sun goes down just like a little kid getting worse at night...LOL!

Nana
