That's a good thing, Carol. Very good.
I've been lazy today. But my fridge is filled with good foods that just need reheating so I feel that's good enough. Tomorrow we'll get ready for the last few days of school.

Hi all,,

We had a fun time yesterday at my son's... lots of good food and the sun came out long enough for boys to play together... getting there was another matter- we left her and sun was out... about 5 minutes later it was thundering and lighting , my weather app said there was a tornado in the area we were driving toward... and it was raining and hailing really hard... scary times.. and the people on the freeway or some of them were driving like idiots... why do people do that during storms... ? We were all in separate cars and phoning each other to make sure we were all okay- evidently we were just minutes apart and arrived almost at same time so all ended well...

It is supposed to be nice tomorrow .. we are going to bbq... oldest dd is coming over for dinner.. rest of kids have other plans... will be nice to see the sun again for more than a few minutes at a time...

Well off to make a dinner of leftovers... need to clean out fridge ... have a good evening all...

Nana

Well, this is Teddy's short summer vacation. Five days then summer session begins. He is out all of July though.
Dinner has been enjoyed by all.

Well any break is good IMO.

Storms all over the area. Tornado and storm warnings.

I got ahold of both girls. Val & family are sleeping in the basement, & Emily & her fa!ily are OK as the storm has passed them.

We ate Still under warnings here for a while longer.àa
Good mews is that where I at, all is quiet.

The weather this year will be bad for storms I've heard, El Nino is getting stronger. We were already warned to prepare, In fact they had a tornado just West of us last week.

I pray you are all kept safe...and send your spare rain to Tina, the drought in California is a sad situation.

Hoping you have a Memorial Day filled with family love. kissie

More running today...12 days of preschool left.

Good morning. I am glad the tornadoes missed you ladies.
Yes, I am looking forward to the El Nino season. I will spend the summer preparing for it. I want to stay on my hillside comfortably. So that means ditches need to be cleared. And sandbags filled and other fun stuff. Along with removing all of the usual fire danger stuff. And getting in firewood. It is going to be a busy year.

Preschool was cancelled, the teacher was sick. Tomorrow they are supposed to go for horseback and pony riding at a local horse stable...I do hope that is not cancelled.

I got my garden all divided out and planted potatoes....I can't wait to get the rest planted. grin

I'm sorry about preschool being canceled. That sucks. I hope tomorrow's plans are not affected, Sunny.
Carol, Yay for tomatoes. I hope they give you lot's of healing fruit.
We are ready for the short week of school. Only 3 days left. I made a good late lunch so we are snacking our way through the rest of this evening.

Do schools in your states have Air Conditioning? None of ours do, it's just heating... So when you're in the building in May and the hot days start (school stops June 9th this year) it gets unbearable... Then our warm days don't stop until October, so even then you can see the kids visibly perspiring at school.

Good morning. I am up about an hour early.
Our schools do have a/c, James. In the desert it is almost a must. Although, when I was a kid here, we did not. When it got over 110*, we were sent home.

I remember being sent home if the temps got too high also. My kids had A/ C part of their school years, but not the total time. As a result they too were sent home early on hot days.

Good morning ! Happy Tuesday.. Even if I will not be going to ceramics.😔

No ceramics makes me sad. But something to strive for and look forward to for you.
I got Teddy to school and stopped to shop. I spent much more than I intended to but there was so much lovely stuff. I keep feeling there will come a time when there won't be so much available or affordable. I have moved to mostly organics and things. Buying local. I pay a premium but my money is going where I want it to go.

Good afternoon, GG got to go on her field trip but they ended up coming back early...they got rained out.

No air conditioning in our schools at all...in fact it is only the past few years that people have been installing them in their homes around here.

When I was a kid, very few people had a/c. Well, nobody. Then a few people got evaporative coolers and so did we. The stores began with e coolers and moved up to a/c. The schools got e coolers and they got a/c after I left. ( Class of '69). I never had a/c until I moved back east with all of the humidity. I dislike what it does to my sinuses. I have swamp coolers now. I love them.
I am off to go pick up my son from school now.

Well in Alaska no one had ac...LOL! we had heaters.. even for the car to keep the fluids from freezing...

When we moved to Az we had coolers but the high school at AC... had to was over 110 in Yuma till end of Oct at least and then again in April... hated PE when we did outside stuff, we didn't need it when we first moved here but we have a cooler now cause it does get very warm in late June/July... the last few years , this summer may be different.. warmest day this yr is today and it is 70 and it is getting cloudy and windy and looks like it will rain again this afternoon... Joe managed to mow today- was about 8 inches high, really had to push it thru the are the swing set was in , lowest part of yard and really soggy there... out of last 24 days we have had rain 22 of them at our house,,, more coming this week too. Sun has been out today , so nice to see!

Well off to see about vacumming last level of house, and finish up laundry- today is leftovers day.. we have been eating out of freezer to save some money for out vacation time... hoping to have some money left over so I can have a carpet cleaning company come in and clean the carpets when we get back... Have a good day all!

Nana

That was going to be my next question, at what point is hot too hot; I mean, you end up with the kids little bodies, and 1-2 teachers... I went to the same school and it's never had AC and there where quite a few hot days. it's gotten larger and larger, but just a heatpump still.

I have oral surgery tomorrow night; they're going to be removing 2 of my remaining 3 wisdom teeth, hopefully it's completely uneventful.

Thanks everyone grin. I will still have one remaining wisdom tooth (bottom left), but I had an impacted molar and my top right out a couple of years ago. Anxiety just kind of kicked in this evening.

I have Trey's birthday party at school tomorrow too; he turns 10 in July (on the 9th) but since they're not in school during July he misses out, so we try to do something just before school gets out for him. Tripple booked the day though, because his Karate awards cerimony is at 7pm, after my teeth taking place at 3:40 (and the birthday thing just a couple of hours before that), busy busy.

Good morning.

Good luck on the surgery, I had two removed by the dentist then the last two removed by a surgeon, I never swelled a bit for either one. Use your ice pack...it really works.

Tina, we are debating getting a small AC for our house...the past few years we have had days of record beating heat.

Nana, we have those block heaters in our cars...is it expensive to get carpets professionally cleaned?

Junie, sending prayers for you as well.

I need to mow my lawn this week as well...if it can ever stop raining. I am wondering where Dodge is.

Good morning.
I hope it dries enough to let you mow, Sunny. The a/c I got when I lived back east was mostly helpful for the humidity. It pulled it out of my house. Where I live and came from is hot but mostly dry air. Heat is much more tolerable when it is dry. Moving into the humidity was a killer for me.
I hope everyone has a good and safe day.

It gets cold here in the winter, but we do not use the heaters for the car. I guess I should be thankful that there is not a need.

We have central air ( cooling that goes thru the heat ducts)

And sadly we need it. Well we could live in the basement if we had to I guess.

It is sunny & dry today !

I would be in the basement a lot, Carol.
I got Teddy to school and stopped to shop. Now I have a pot roast in the slow cooker with taters, carrots, onions and other such things. So dinner tonight is set. And tomorrow. (<--lazy)

Well, I am going to make more when I can I get home from picking Ted up from school. I've got the makings and the ideas for a couple more meals on hand. It is going to be a warm weekend and I won't feel like cooking. And I can freeze some things. I hate cooking when it's hot.

Just got back from watching Timothy graduate from 8th grade... can't believe he will be in high school! Time flies... if you who go to FB go look there are pics on my page...

We did leftovers for dinner... going to make something in the crockpot tomorrow... with chicken... inventoried my freezer and have lots of it to make dinners with... maybe bbq'd.

Well off to go to fold the clothes in the dryer and hit my pillows soon... am tired tonit...

Nana

You should have shouted "rise and shine" a little louder, Carol.
Good morning. I overslept this morning and bolted out of bed with a half hour before time to leave. All was accomplished but I feel late. I don't like that feeling.
I stopped to shop but I forgot a couple of things. So a shopping trip is on my horizon.
