My day is good. Ted had a successful day at school. I had a successful day of driving/shopping/cleaning fridges/shopping and driving home. But it calls for a nap.

That's a full day for sure.

I just got in from doing some snow removal...made no sense though, it is blowing so hard that it is filling in again from the open field.

Off to shower to warm up. Grandgirl has a Christmas concert in the morning...I pray the storm lets up.

It seems that if I can't get things done before noon to one o'clock, it doesn't get done. Later I fix an easy dinner, give needed baths and wash up dishes. Truly, it sounds like more than it is. I use to do so much more. I've gotten lazy in my old age.

I hear that about old age.
I used to do a lot before noon as well...and MORE yet after the kids were asleep at night---it was nothing for me to scrub/wax floors, wash clothes, and clean house in general after 7 or 8pm at night, until say 1am when Rod came home from work...
Now I had better get "whatever" (aside from laundry) done in the AM like you say, Tina.

I too am going to bed......sweet dreams

I have to leave in an hour or so to get GG ready for her Christmas concert...wish me luck on the roads. thumbup

Good luck, Sunny.
Good morning all. I have things to do today but I'm not sure what they are yet. Maybe some coffee would help.
I hope all have a great day.

I stopped and got the last of my Christmas shopping done. Except food. I've wrapped the things I bought today. I still have to wrap the things I bought before. I feel so behind. But I caught up really. It's good.

It is spring time here. The spirea is blooming just like it's April. We're supposed to get a little chilly on Saturday but then I think the temps are supposed to go right back up. I'm trying to think of something to give my sisters for Christmas.

Do they have those floating lockets where you live?? You can get no brand ones for reasonable. OR you could buy Origami Owl for expensive..Then you buy little birth-month colored crystal floating charms in them, fit to each family---you could go with husband & wife, or just children, or just grandchildren or mix it up. I even found a necklace on e-bay for my Mom that has 2 floating lockets on it---I put Mom's Grandchildren in one & her great-grands in the other...I will give it to her on Christmas.

On e-bay as well as origami owl there are also floating Brooches...very pretty indeed.

I am going to bed soon...tomorrow is Momma's birthday..so if I am not around, you all know where I am.....

Good morning. I'll have to look those lockets up.
Today is the last day of school until Jan 11. And Santa is going to be there. Fun for Teddy. I'll shop for the weekend. And hole up on Friday. I do not want to be anywhere out on the roads when the president is in town.

Happy birthday to your mother, Carol.
I am home for a few days. I don't need to go down the hill for anything. And I'm glad because the president is going to be there and meet with families of the fallen. But I don't know when or what roads are going to be messed up. I'll sit home and be happy.

IKNOW I answered this --but

Thanks so much Tina---I think Mom will get better, but it will be a long hard road--I hope that she cans deal with all of this.

I do think, though, that once Christmas is over, it will be better, as nothing much goes on during the winter after all.

I am going down in the basement to wrap gifts--then at 12:30 I will come up & watch The Big bang Theory...it was put off so TPTB could televise a local Football game--- why rolz

See you all tomorrow. wavy

You'll really enjoy Big Bang tonight. I watched it on CBS eastern at 5 and I have it on again on the western station. When it's over, I'll be getting ready for bed. I'm tired.
Sweet dreams all.

They are, Sheri--and you can get gold or silver...and some of the new ones even screw on instead of open & close with a magnet.

and the chains are interchangeable so you can have different styles and different lengths of chains with the same locket..

still wrapping gifts...but then I am slow..

Good morning....freezing rain out there.

Well, my running is done. GG is finished with school until after the new year. I had the busiest past two days...now I get to relax.

I looked up the floating pendant...now I want one lol I have never seen that before, how cool.

Good morning. It's warmer than it has been for days. I'll take it. It's supposed to get cooler and rainy tomorrow.
It's nice to have school off the schedule, isn't it. Sunny? After May, school is off my schedule permanently. That is 40 years of having at least one kid in school. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.
Today, I'm going to get laundry and outside work done. That ought to keep me occupied.
I hope everyone has a great day.

About the floating pendants...yes they are very nice..plus you can have one pendant, 2 chains (at different lengths) and can change the inside of them...and that reminds me---I have Christmas charms I need to put in mine.

Tell your hubby, Sunny--they make nice gifts...and a friend of yours has plenty of birthstone crystals she could lend to the cause.

Well, my wrapping is done, and Valarie & henry's beds are clean & ready for them. Tomorrow I will vacuum , clean the bathrooms & get my food ready for tomorrow night's family party...YAY

Busy bees we are.

Today I need to clean as usual...and DH is outside at the moment prepping an area to make a skating rink for GG. Guess that means that we will be buying her skates soon. Although I am hoping to find a pair of bob skates.

Tina, is there another program for Teddy to go to? Here we have a 3 day(half day) drop in center for special needs. They take them for an outing once a week and the other two days are activity based.

Junie, I must check but I was in the jewelry store a month ago to sneak around and never even saw such an item. The new hot thing here is some kind of jewelry where you pop in and out the stones to change them up.

A skating rink is a wonderful idea. I'll have to look up skating bobs.
Good (second) morning. I was up early but I ached so I took some aspirin and went back to bed. It felt good. But a second dose is in order.
Nothing much on my agenda today. I would like to cook something but nothing really appeals. That is leftovers from the flu. No appetite. It'll return eventually.
I would love a center like you described, Sunny. But here all of them are all day to accommodate working parents or more for people of higher function than Teddy is. Like those that can take a bus on their own, etc. He is not quite there. He doesn't talk for one thing.

I hope you feel better soon Tina.

Bob skates are a double bladed base and clip onto your winter boots with tie straps.

Tina, here anyone with special needs get a guaranteed supplement from our government when they turn 19. I think it is over $500 a month at the moment. They also have the opportunity to apply for a 'worker'...that person gets at least 12 hrs work a week with them. They can take them for the 3 half days and stay at the center with them or they can take their hours by what you would recommend and use it for 'relief care'....meaning time for yourself while the worker takes the client out or stays with them so the parent can get time for themselves.

Thank you Sunny. Teddy gets SSI (Social Security) since he turned 18. It's about $1100+ a month. He has occupational therapy in school but he shows no interest in doing something for an hour at a time. He is much like a kindergartener without speech. There are different programs available but I am having trouble finding the right situation for him. There are respite programs that would get him out of my hair. Even some that would pay my daughters to do it. But I like taking care of the dude myself. He really doesn't cause me stress.
So having my daughter come up and take him out for a couple of hours at a time is the right thing to do. It is enough for him and for me. Like tomorrow, Ill wrap gifts while he is out. thumbup

The only present I have yet to wrap is the sweater that I bought for my MIL. The e-mail I got from Ups says it was supposed to arrive LATE on Saturday the 19th..wellp no it did not...so I am hopeful for Monday...
Then when I give my mom & my MIL their gifts I will be done. IF my youngest is going to celebrate Christmas this year she had better get her gifts to Illinois/Missouri in the mail...All of the "Dudley Family" but us got a Christmas card in the mail Saturday from her...so I guess I will hope that her sister & I will get one Monday or Tuesday...

Tomorrow it is back to my Mom's at the Therapy place to see about her clothes. (I am washing them)

Good morning. Get some rest, Sunny. Today is Monday but it doesn't feel right. Then I realized I did my Sunday routine on Saturday and messed with my own mind. But I'll straighten it out.
I will cook something for dinner but I have to figure out what in case I have to defrost something. My big decision of the day.

We are in the middle of a snow storm, DH was just called out.

I mopped the floors and sat myself in the corner for a few minutes. I think today's meal will be ground beef and a pasta dish, something hot and gooey to warm the bones lol

At the moment I'm getting a lecture from GG because I don't wear socks in the house...good gosh she wears me out.

What do you wear on your feet inside, Sunny?
I've been puttering around the house today. I cannot get settled into one thing.

All I have to say, Sunny, is I am thinking you have taught her well...LOL

I have finished supper here....we had mashed potatoes, pork steak, & Brussel Sprouts.

After I jump in the tub am making My Grandmother's Oatmeal cookies. She used Lard (& butter)..they are soft & yummy.

Tina, I go bare feet all the time....I just wear socks when I have to go somewhere.

GG and I just treated ourselves to a bowl of ice cream....now I am trying to convince her she should go to bed but of course the Christmas cartoons are on so she is not cooperating.

People have been in and out all day...I know one should be pleased but having company tires me out so. I have felt my heart racing a few times today.
