Morning barely but it counts..LOL!

Hi all, it's been a busy couple of days... had my annual physical Thurs, and my bone density test.. then went Fri morning for the lab work... always fun...evidently they have closed a couple of their offices so everyone was in the one I usually go too.. they don't do appts so it's first in first out.. took almost an hour... made a note in my calendar for next yr to go on Tues or Wed... asked and those are the least busy days now... good news is I have managed to lose 10 lbs... then Carrie told me Jon took Fri and Mon off so I have a mini vaca from school too...
We have had strange weather here.. been reaching the 70's ,Joe went out the last few days and did the spring yard clean up... hoping we don't get a lot more winter but we probably will...snow is predicted for the coming week..we do need the moisture.. have already had a couple brush fires...

We have Nicoli's 11th birthday this coming week... we all are going together to and getting him a new computer.. his died a few months ago... I need a new one for the kids here too, but not in the budget yet...maybe after taxes are done...
Well I better get busy and clean the house some...have a good day all!

Nana

Good afternoon, I had company in and out this morning. I just finished gathering up all the paperwork to do our taxes tomorrow, such fun....not.

Have fun at the party Junie.

Tina, I hope your earthquakes are short lived.

Nana, that reminds me...I have to book my annual physical for next month as well.

They just announced on the news that our produce prices are going to climb another 18%. Yesterday I paid $23 for a small iceburg lettuce, one cucumber, one tomato, a small bag of apple and a small bunch of bananas. I have only $100 a week to cover all groceries, meat, produce and household items. At this rate we will be eating cardboard.

Lots of laundry to get through today. It feels good getting things done.

OH MY gracious....WE to live within a fault line also (New Madrid Fault Line) Not right over but close enough.

I do hope that your quakes are done for the time being.

I am home from the party. My sister said in a few years when someone is looking at the pictures form today, we will all wonder what we were doing wearing long sleeves at my other nieces birthday party. She is born in August & we have her parties outside.
This year my little niece got to have her party outside...Crazy weather indeed.

Well, the morning is nearly over here. Laundry is done for the day. And Teddy and I have breakfasted and lunched. I'm thinking of some mac n' cheese for dinner. Nothing makes him happier.

I've been going over years of pictures. Well, the last 20 years or so. For his graduation, Teddy is supposed to provide 6-10 pictures of his life. From baby on up. Finding many of his middle to later years is tough because he does not like cameras. But I got some of the better ones and a heart full of memories.

See everyone later.

I hope your headache eases soon, Carol.
Teddy and I stopped at the bank on the way to school. Then took his pictures to school to lots of oohing and aawing. Left him and the spent the money I took out in the grocery store. I got that home and put away and have some stuff cooking for the next couple of days. I have a load of laundry drying and one washing. Busy.
It was still when I left but the wind is howling now. And the temperature is rising fast. Supposed to reach 80* here today. I'll see

Good afternoon.

I live looking at old pics Tina as well...such nice memories.

I hope you feel better Junie, have fun shopping.

I just finished pulling buns out of the oven and put the bread in...and made a lemon pie as well. I'd love to make lemon pie from scratch but lemons are just too expensive...so boxed powdered filling it is.

I need to start my taxes in a bit...I have been putting it off all morning.

Argh! Taxes. I've been putting mine off too. I did Jonni's immediately I had her info. But my paperwork has been sitting here waiting for me to be in the mood.
Funny you need lemons and I have them to spare, straight off the tree. But I think shipping them would cause all kinds of problems.
I have Teddy home and no plans for the rest of the day.

Good morning. I woke to an, apparently, broken water heater pilot. If it's not one thing, it's another around here. I need a handyman that will work for food and pocket change. But that's not going to happen.
Luckily, I can live without hot tap water if I need. Until I can have someone look at it. And I can afford a new one if I need. I just hate to see the money go out the window that fast.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Cancel my earlier post. The water heater is working fine. I got up in the middle of the night to let the dog out (2:30) and saw a note on my computer. So I read the note (in the sleep-dazed dark) and it said the pilot was out and I can't relight it, Jonni. I grabbed my flash light and went in stealthily and tried to light it. I didn't want to make a racket and wake Teddy so one try.
Then I was too awake to go back to sleep so I was on my computer checking out what could be the problem. And stayed up. I took Ted to school and stopped to shop and fill my tank. Came home and started a casserole for dinner and sat down again. I reread the note she left and it said she didn't light it. (not couldn't). So I tried again while it was daylight and I was wide awake. Success!
I was worrying myself needlessly.

I'm glad you got the pilot lit, newer equipment can have all sorts of safeties, so figuring out what to press or twist and where can be kind of "exciting"; and by exciting I mean mind numingly annoying.

Hi all, I woke this morning covered in psoriasis. I went to buy some multivitamins...I am hoping it is just a zinc deficiency.

Tina, it must have been a relief to find the note...more bills are what we do not need.

Boy, isn't THAT the truth. SO very glad your water heater issues were a very simple fix.

Sunny I hope the vitamins help. I hope you are all better soon.

I bet you are, Carol. Remember to take care of yourself.
I hope the vitamins do it for you also, Sunny.
I just don't like home repair bills. I live without until I save up enough and that can be uncomfortable when you're talking hot water. I keep thinking about dipping into my general savings but I don't want to do that.

Hard to believe Nicoli is 11. Colby had his 13th birthday Saturday. Can't believe that either.

Tina, glad your problem wasn't really a problem.

Remember my washer was broken and couldn't be fixed. Since it was under warranty I either had a choice of having a new one delivered, for a $200.00 set up fee (whatever that is), or receiving a check for $408.00 prorated deal. Took the check. Bought a new washer Saturday, was delivered yesterday morning at 8:00 AM, washed 4 loads of clothes, agitator cracked around 2:00 PM. Going tomorrow to pick out another one.

Good afternoon. I just got home from taking my mother to an appointment, she will not drive in the snow....it is really storming at the moment.

Looks like you got a few lemons Sheri, hope the new one is the last for a bit.

I am thinking of you and yours Junie kissie

Tina, I agree....it just kills me to dip into our savings.

Taxes are done and mailed, soup is cooking on the stove....and GG came home with me last night since it is supposed to storm for a couple of days.

The new washer comes tomorrow. Shelley said I put a hex on her because her dryer broke yesterday afternoon. I told Ginger she better start praying over hers. :)

It's 73° here today but the wind is gusting something fierce. It's February and we're already having tornado warnings. Good grief.

Keep safe, Sheri

and I think we should NOT talk about appliances going out of service...

My stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, & dryer are 10 + years old. then my washer was bought in May of 1995. yikes

The house had no heat today b/c of a power outage & silly me did not wear a coat. THEN my DH thought it would be a good diea to go out in the cold & yuck to go to church tonight. By 9 pm I felt like a cold was coming on. IT best not.

sweet dreams everyone I am going to try for sleep.

Good morning...add my tea kettle to your appliance pile, it kicked the bucket last night.

We got over a foot of snow....now we are getting freezing rain, what a mess. I hope your power is back Junie, I'm waiting to lose mine at any moment.

Have a good one today everybody.

Good morning.
I hope you wake well today, Carol. This is not the time for a cold for you. And I hope your power is back on.
I hope yours stays on, Sunny. I am sorry about your kettle.
I am up and ready for today. It's early but I have lots to do. So the extra wake up time is good.
