Good Morning.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, but no I did not wake well today. Sore throat, on one side, and runny nose on the same side.
Thankfully, so far no fever.

I woke far too early for me. (6 am) I am hoping that I can go back to sleep for a bit, soon

Morning,

I am up way to early.. do have an appt.to go to at9.. seems like all our appt's are this week.. get my mammo tomorrow... early again...
I made coffee and there are cinnamon rolls in the warming oven.... wishing I could go back to bed.. could sleep now.. oh well....

We had a small family celebration for Nicoli's birthday last evening... we all met at Gunther Toody's.. it a restaurant styed like a 50
s diner... he loves that place...me not so much... music is okay but boy the menu is mostly burgers and fries... did find a chickenwrap that at least a little healthier to eat...and no fries...trying to keep away from to much fried stuff...

Junie hope you feel better soon... colds are so not fun to have... this crazy weather sure hasn't helped either, one week it's almost 70 here and then it snows again... .... Well I better get busy and eat breakfast so we can make this appt... then have to hit a store or two on way home...

Have a good day all......

Nana

Boy, I hope you can sleep and it is much better when you wake, Carol.
I hope you have a pleasant appointment, Nana.
I've got to get ready for real. I've had a nice long time to wake up.

Sorry for all of the appointments so close together, Nana...but hey, at least you will be done for awhile, HUH.

Those boys keep getting older, don't they.....but then that is how it works.

I did not go to sleep ladies..and I feel no worse. I am waiting until tomorrow to speak to Valarie.

I do so wish this had not of happened now.......

Tina, I have not gotten ready for the day either...perhaps I will go lay down now for a bit.

Good morning. This has seemed like an awfully long week. And it is being finished off by a long day. But we will survive and hole up for a quiet weekend. A peaceful time at home.
I hope everyone has a good Friday.

Go Morning.

I slept 10+ hours last night--and I feel like crap this morning.

I have already told Val I will not be coming down this weekend. I hopefully will be well the next weekend.

Bad news is my DH's cousin is coming over tonight. That is bad because he is not just clean, he is a clean freak. I could clean this house for 2 weeks all day all 14 days & he would think it was dirty. And here I set sick for the last 2 + days & so not much has been done. I just took some meds..I am hoping they make me feel like doing some work...

I am so sorry, Carol. Frankly, I would cancel the cousin's visit. You are to ill to entertain much less clean. Ignore his proposed visit and concentrate on yourself.

He wants some information about the property that he now owns that was the 2 boys Great-Aunt's. It is not a social visit.

I wanted to take care of it on Wednesday (we could have done it on Monday also)..but he called & put it off until tonight.

I am thinking I will just go into my bedroom & let them figure it out.

In your bedroom is the best plan, Carol. Leaving him to clean wouldn't be bad either.

The bedroom is the best place. You're sick and don't want to make him sick so leave me alone. :)

Have I told you my washing machine saga? Remember mine was under warranty and the repair man came at least 3 times and couldn't fix it?? They sent us a check and we got a new one that was delivered Monday morning. The agitator cracked and fell off Monday around 2 during a wash cycle. Wednesday we picked out a new one, it was delivered yesterday (Thursday morning), they took it off the truck and out of the box to find that the entire side was bashed in. Loaded it right back up and just unloaded another one. Hopefully this one will work because I'm running out of wash cloths.

The wind knocked down a bunch of trees and with them power lines this week. We were out of power for 14 hours. Thankfully it wasn't that cold.

Sheri, I can loan you a wash board if need be grin

This latest ice storm had us without power as well, then we got it back and the wind took it out again. I am so thankful for my woodstove.

Oh gosh Sunny. We are on a well and don't have water without power. Thankfully we have a generator.

So far the washer has washed 1 load without breaking. Fingers crossed.

The 2nd load is in and so far so good. This one plays a little song when it's finished a wash. Not sure what the name of the song is but it's a catchy tune.

This is a math problem my 2nd grader brought home yesterday. Can anyone figure it out?

Pete is jumping rope. He does 38, 50, 22, and 29. How many jumps does he do in all?

__________(put your answer)

Jess got 94 as an answer. What did he do wrong?

(he added wrong is NOT the correct answer)

I hope that your washing machine continues to run well, Sheri

I hate the new math----I am so very thankful that my kids are out of school now, I cannot see straight.

WE have no generator and NO wood stove. Thankfully we have a gas furnace that does not have an electric blower.

I wish everyone a good night, sweet dreams you all

Sheri, we have a well also. We keep pre-bottled 4 litre bottles on hand as well as a few cases of water. We fill the bathtub and washer when bad weather is on the way....and we can melt snow for flushing the potty on the woodstove. I also have a brook across the road for filling pails if need be.

I hope everyone has a good day ahead.

Good Morning.
we have city water---YAY. so if there is no power, at least we have water. (we too were on a well on the farm)

What I am not clear on is if the hot water heater is gas of electric.
I really need to test that out sometime. (or I could ask the DH)

I too wish everyone a good day.

I have well water but electrical is not a problem because it's in the hill above me and gravity-fed.
Good morning. I've been up a couple of hours but got busy doing things around the house. Now I'm taking a break.
I hope everyone has a happy and productive day.

I guess no matter what day it is, there is always much to do. House is cleaned but I must start baking in a few. GG wants banana muffins and DH wants a pie of some sort. I wish somebody would take my order lol

Time for a new coffeehouse, tag...you're it grin

Tina your comment made me laugh. Evidently Jess is the dumb kid because Jess is the one who put the number 50 in the wrong place and instead of the 5 being in the 10's line it was put in the 5's line and 50 was added as 5.

I don't understand why they are trying to learn what someone did "wrong" instead of why they got it right.

The washing machine is running beautifully.

Would be lovely here today if the wind would stop blowing a million miles an hour.

AS I said, I HATE the new math..IF I had a child in school now, after we finished their math work for school, I would hold my own class to show them how it could be done the simpler way & still have the right answer. I have no idea how this new math got started, but I feel it messes with children's ability to reason things out.

I went to the grocery store. It took me 10 minutes, if that long, to put away $84.00 worth of groceries. ridiculous.

Yes they sure are, Tina, to be sure.

We had jumbo shrimp today that I just boiled but them we ate them warm---NOT a good ides to be sure.

I think next time I will stir fry them with butter & garlic..that or cook them & get them cold & eat them with cocktail sauce.
