Good morning. I fell out last night and just went to sleep without saying good night or anything.
I am up early and likely to stay up now.
I am anticipating a little trouble getting in and out of my home because there is a concert in the park this weekend. It begins tonight with camping and the music is Fri-Sat. What is stressing me out the most is the big , temporary fences they are putting up. Miles and miles of them. And traffic barricades.
I want to make sure that I can get my kid to and from school without lengthy delays. And why the massive fencing? Is that to keep people out? Or in? It gave me nightmares.
I will buy what I need to hole up for the weekend today. Just in case I need to stay in tomorrow.
I hope you can find the clothes you need soon, Carol. And have a pleasant shopping experience doing it.

Hi all...Sunny needs to hide and rest but it won't happen. I made it to the appointments, one led to another and we were 4 hours at a clinic then a hospital. Between the Gravol, Gaviscon and Immodium...I made it through.

Today I feel like I am hungover...it is supposed to storm in a bit so I will hide for the day. We have more snow now than we did all Winter.

I hope you all have a great day ahead. thumbup

Any traditions for St. Patty's Day?

I am not doing St. Patrick's day except to wear green. Teddy's school is not celebrating it either because they are having special Olympics. When that is over tomorrow, they will go home for the two week spring break. A busy time of year for them.

I got my food in. Lots of meal options, some snack-y stuff and some desserts. Drinks and things too. It better be enough.
I am shopping for our vacation also. Since I don't have to take Teddy to school, I don't want to make a lot of trips in general. Off to cook something while the cooking is good.

Sounds like a great plan Tina...it must be terrible to have to deal with and worry about all the added people in the area due to these concerts.

I am finally cooking the beef stew that Nana had me craving for the other day.

I also made up a big batch of homemade laundry detergent..I hope it works out. It is starting to thicken up and gel already. It calls for 1 cup grated Ivory bar soap, 1 cup Washing Soda and 1 cup Borax. You melt the Ivory into boiling water, add the Soda then Borax...mix well then pour into a 3 gallon pail with hot water. Mix and let set for 24 hrs. Stir, bottle then pour 1/2 cup or so per load.

Yeah, pretty much the same recipe I use, only no water. I use it as powder and use a tablespoon per load. No problems with it not dissolving. I've used it for about three years. No rashes or skin problems at all. I love it.
I am home for the day. I've decided not to attempt school tomorrow. Just too much hassle. And even if I could make it in and out, my house would be vulnerable to idle people without anything to do until the concert begins.
So Teddy is out of school until April 4th.

Sunny glad you're on the mend.

Tina do you know who the bands are at the concert?

Junie I think you're right. My work group is small and we do our job and work well together. I think the higher ups think if things are good there's got to be a way to make them even better which ends up ruining everything. Reminds me of why I left there in the first place.

Have you ever seen a picture of yourself and realize you really need a new bra?? :)

Sheri, I don't have a bra.
The bands playing are listed here: https://www.insomniac.com/media/bey...day-and-single-day-tickets-available-now
I haven't heard of any of them.

Gee, Sheri, I am sorry. I hope that things go back to normal soon.

Sunny, I hope that you are back to normal soon.

Tina, I think it was a good choice to begin spring break a day early. I think I would do the same thing if it were me.

I am going to pay some bills & then go to sleep.

Nighty-night everyone.

Good morning.

Sheri, I seen a picture of myself...and realized I should have a girdle to go with the new bra haha

Tina, my soap mixture is thicker than gelatin....I'm not sure if it supposed to be like that but I'll give it a stir and try a load in a few. Enjoy your days off with Teddy.

Since Junie never paid my bills, I guess I need to get out and do that sometime today...and pick up GG for the weekend.

Good morning. I have one bill to pay, my property taxes. I guess I'll get that done today. And put it in the mail. Then that will be a load off my mind for a few months.
And then I'll concentrate on cleaning up around here. I want to take a load or two to the dumpster.

Good evening. I got lots of laundry done today. It feels good to have all the bath mats and such done. I am beginning to change into lighter bedding too. So the blankets are getting washed and packaged for summer storage. I guess that's part of spring cleaning. But I'm not doing that so much. Just doing stuff to keep our little family comfy.

Tina I don't recognize those bands either. Oh well. Maybe I need to get out more. Naw not gonna happen.

I have been trying to clean out stuff a little at a time since last year. Why do I have so much stuff?

Guess I'm going to have to break down and buy new bras. I hate spending money on new bras but I need to wear one to work and church.

Let's just all stop paying our bills and see what happens.

1) I just bought 2 new ones this last week. I am not happy with either, but as you say, there are places one must wear them.
Problem is Penney's stopped making the ones I wore for decades.

2) I would LOVE to stop paying my bills.. such a lot of money wasted to my notion... teach

I need to be going to sleep, nighty night everyone.

Good morning. Although I think I'll try to catch another hour or so. It's too early to be up.
I think I will keep paying my bills though. I like light and cooling or heat when I need it. And I am always grateful that I have these things. And glad I can pay them.
Today I will get a little more done around here. It is an ongoing process.
I hope everyone has a good day.

I agree with Tina too because I've wanted to say no but said yes and ended up being resentful. My own fault. Should have just said no.

Went to a funeral today then dropped some stuff off at the church then out to eat.

Did I tell you guys about Colby hurting his ankle then 2 days later hurting the other ankle. Now he has a boot on one foot and a brace on the other. AND now he's sick as a dog with a fever, vomiting, and a headache. Poor guy.

Good morning and Happy spring.

Poor Colby, I hope he is better soon.

GG woke this morning with a sore throat and a runny nose...I'll just keep her here for a day or two, we are getting a bad storm tonight and tomorrow anyway. Those good old Nor'Easter storms just tend to keep hitting us.

I used to never say 'No' to anyone...this week I have said it three times, I am proud of myself. I said no to taking my grand-niece, no to painting my SIL's bathroom and no to taking my nephew to town(he should have went when I did). thumbup

Good morning. I slept pretty good. And woke a little stuffy. But hopefully that will clear soon.
I'm glad you are learning that, Sunny. And sorry that your GG is not doing so well.
Today is washing bedding and things. The campers will go home and I'll feel free to go in and out again. Not so claustrophobic. But I have no intention of going anywhere. Just nice to know I can.

And I am done for the day. I gathered up a lot of trash to take to the dumpster. And separated a lot of things to go to the needy, both food and clothes. That is what Teddy and I will be doing this week. I am looking forward to having the stuff gone.

So far today we went to church, visited with my MIL, & went out to eat.

Then we went to the grocery & came home. I picked out the clothes I will wear to see my DD and some of what Rod will take.
I also cleaned out my closet & got rid of several purses, shirts & shoes. Then I put out my Easter ceramics & doilies.

It the struck me---just who am I doing this for..no one but me will see them.......

Supper is over & I am back to washing clothes....

As I was telling Rod. I really hate to start to work, but once I DO start, I hate to stop.

Off to do the last of the book work now--TTY all L

If they make you happy then only you seeing them is good enough, Carol. And they will be there for the future when you may have a house full of grands.
I did get a mess of stuff removed from my house today. I still need to move things to the dumpster but it is all neatly bagged and ready to go. It is all good.

Good morning.

My storm is holding off, it will only start this afternoon...snow is snow but the wind warnings are scary.

It feels good to purge unwanted items and help those in need at the same time...I'm sure you will be helping many, Tina. kissie

Junie, I hope you are all prepared for your trip.

Today my plan is to do my baking this morning then run a mop over my floors this afternoon. That Kinetic sand makes the floors into a slip'and'slide game.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Free days are wonderful.

I have bread and buns in the oven.

I am trying to figure out where and how spiders are getting in my bathroom. I ran out of caulking filling every crack I can find where the washer and dryer is. I am thinking of making a quick trip to the local store for another tube. Any tips for me for organic spider-repellent?

Mint. Spiders hate it and avoid. Any mint you put down will need to be refreshed on occasion but it's better than nothing and doesn't leave a foul smell. Any mint from fresh leaves to extracts and flavorings. Even creme de mint (booze).

Thanks so much Tina, I had Mint Extract here...I use it in brownies now and then. I dabbed some on cotton balls and sat it in the laundry area. I hope it helps. The roads were too bad to go to the store for more caulking so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

My floors are mopped and I guess I'll have to do the sink of dishes in a few minutes. DH was only home for 15 minutes to grab his supper...the storm is keeping them out plowing for the evening.

I am glad your DH got a good meal before facing the storms. I hope the mint helps. It is really only a repellent so it won't kill them off. But any port in the storm. I would plant mint all around my house but the trees around my house make that a moot thing.
Speaking of spiders, my daughter found a tarantula in the house last month. It was dead, (hunted by her cat?) but in all my life I've never seen or heard of one coming indoors. I see them outside often in spring or fall when they are migrating. I move them out of the roadways often then.

Oh no. don't be afraid of tarantulas. My mother had home movies of us with them crawling up our arms and across our faces. They are the one "cuddly" eight-legged things. And slow enough to keep out of their way. And in a life time of living with them, this was the first one ever indoors. We only kept them for a day and let them go hunting again. Their favorite food, other spiders. They are welcomed.
I have avoided the mail for three days. It's about time I checked mine.
